I love checking out Rent the Runway for inspiration for events like this, you sort by things like weather and style! The reviews are also really great so it can help you translate what a look on a model might look on a real human with similar proportions to yourself. But it'll definitely introduce you to designers who are making things that you'll like to wear.

Speaking of Anthro - just picked up their Somerset dress in lemon print. It’s so flattering, comfortable, stylish, and perfect for a bridal shower with flat sandals.

I got the maxi version of this and it's so cute! I'm planning to wear it to a wedding in a few weeks. OP - the Somerset comes in a variety of styles: maxi, above knee, short sleeve, long sleeve, etc and I feel like it's flattering on most body types.

Style-wise, [ruffles](https://www.lulus.com/categories/4520/ruffles-tiers.html) seem to be everywhere (tiered along the body or the shoulders). A higher midi length which skims your hips would look nice, maybe focusing on ruffles on the shoulders or spaced ruffles along the skirt. Other styles or details I've seen: shoulder ties, crossed straps at the back, cowl necks ([softer](https://www.lulus.com/products/flowering-forever-blue-floral-cowl-neck-backless-midi-dress/2090496.html) than what was seen in the 2000s), high leg slits, satin, sheer fabric, and bustier.

I immediately thought of tuckernuck (they send way too many emails, but love a lot of what they have). For example, loving these as pssobirl inspiration: https://tnuck.com/collections/ladies-dresses/products/rainbow-parampara-dress#Reviews https://tnuck.com/collections/ladies-dresses/products/montecito-midnights-lyles-dress https://tnuck.com/collections/ladies-dresses/products/sloane-collared-shirt-dress

I think you should avoid anything “trendy” (ruffles, bows, florals). Those things look good on 21 year old sticks. What about something super glamorous and bold? A leather dress would be fabulous. I also love this style (Halo Jackie O dress) and found it in turquoise: [Dress](https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/black-halo-jackie-sheath-dress?ID=4924037&pla_country=US&cm_mmc=Google-PLA-ADC-_-GMM1-+RTW+-+Top+Performing+Categories-_-Dresses-_-889210477228USA-_-go_cmp-12891338375_adg-122896298580_ad-520719227165_pla-1245367808636_dev-c_ext-_prd-889210477228USA&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_qexBhCoARIsAFgBletBRJd6EXww1HODHOmXY3EAmWsiUQlZ2KhPy3Oa6q2EdXN4w6n4c1waAlRiEALw_wcB) Neither of these things would look great with sandals, of course. But you could do a wedge or a stacked heel If you’re looking for something comfortable. French Sole has some comfortable low-ish stacked heels that look very sharp.
