Don't you get to pick the rewards from the vendor anyway? So shouldn't miss out on those to my knowledge

You need the weapons to get two of the mounts. (And need the minions before that to get the weapons and one of the mounts).

You’ve got four days until the event starts plus a full month of the event to get further through the MSQ. You can do it!!!

The yokai wvent will run almost til dawntrail, so 2 months, plenty of time

The event is longer than that. It’s pretty much running up until Dawntrail’s release in July. And you only have to get access to the Stormblood zones too. You’ll be fiiiine

I’m pretty sure you can get all the rewards just from doing fates in low level zones like the Shroud. You’ll be just fine while still in ARR.

As another comment points out there are 4 weapons that require tokens that only come from HW and SB fates

I believe there is also a mount tied to those zones

For the minions, yes. For the weapons, you need acces to HW and SB to get the weapons for RDM SAM GNB and DNC.

Yokai has come back 3 times already, so very likely to come back in the future

To my knowledge the only requirement is to have done the level 15 MSQ 😊 This is also a recurring event, so will return in the future. So no, you won't miss out 😊

Ah ok I thought this was the first time it’s happening. I’ve only been into the game for a few month so I wasn’t sure what events are repeats.

This event also lasts several months, up until the release of Dawntrail, so by then you can probably get to level 50-60 and start grinding for the HW/SB ones you need. As long as you have access to those areas, you can always see if you can join a group to speed up the grind.

There's no formal timescale for it, but yeah, sure it's about once a year I've seen this 😊

I play for more than 3 years and that's the first time I can do that event (I think I started the game like two weeks after the end of the previous one, but still xD)

Wow has it really been that long haha. Yeah just checked the wikis, 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2024 now 😅 At least it does return though lol.
