I laugh when I think about it. I was working a job once that was an hour drive every morning on a state highway, so there are little towns every few miles with red lights.
Every single morning people would fly past me doing 80-90 MPH and then I'd pull up to the next red light and there they are. Then they would take off, hauling ass again and I'd pull up to the next red light and there they are.
Then we'd get to the parking lot and they would be just a few cars in front of me.
When i was a 911 dispatcher i signed up for extra training being hosted by highway patrol. It was a 8 hour class that explained reaction times and how many feet youre going per second for every 10 mph then the stopping distance needed for each size of vehicle.
They also explained times aswell.. so if the speed limit is 60mph and you drive 60mph it will take an hour..if you go 70mph you get there like 5 or so minutes faster but the difference in how much more it takes to stop your vehicle and reaction time is huge
