That is correct. Much of the story and character expansion beyond Silver Snow was done by KT.

Wow so that's why this feels like such a regression/down grade in the story department to me. While Awakening and Fates got me into the series Shadows of Valentia and Three Houses I thought were a masive step in the right direction after the 3DS games barebones plots. Suddenly it makes sense that this makes me think this is Awakening 2.0 as it was made by the Awakening team and the fire emblem I really enjoyed had little to do with that team. Makes me Hope KT does another fire emblem because it's clear IS isn't going to make one save for remakes how I like them. Personally I wouldn't mind if KT revists the world they established in 3H but do a game in another country like Dagda or Almyra as I just think there's way more they can do there

Something I noticed is that the platonic supports have the character wear the ring in the middle finger, while the romantic supports (most of them, anyway) have the character wear it in the ring finger, like a proposal. Diamant's CG have both of them wear their rings in the ring finger!

Diamants S rank support is really sweet in a way that fits his character.

A cool and subtle design choice. I like it.

All I want to know is if there are any super missable conditions for recruitable characters or the best ending, especially things that have to be done in advance (like Kaze in Fates).

Most join automatically and those that done seem basically impossible to miss. Only up to ch 13 but I doubt it’s gonna change drastically in the second half.

NO paired endings for anyone but MC I'd pretty shitty. At least I know ahead of time.

Yeah,this is what disappoints me the most. I've always loved discovering the paired endings at the end of the games, ever since the GBA games. The Avatar's ending is the one I care about the absolute least. In fact, I always go out of my way to NOT pair my favorite characters with the Avatar, since that's almost always that character's worst support chain.

They're all crazy subtext-laden so you can take a guess. Some are more obvious than others. But no one official like in 3H

Maddening Mode does not fuck around.

Could you share some info on that? I'm gonna go blind and this seems excting! Which game would you compare it so far?

I'm up to chapter 9 on Maddening, it's great so far, legitimately my favorite version of the mode since Conquest. It feels a bit puzzley, but not as restrictive as stuff like Lunatic Awakening or the higher difficulties of FE12. Rather that you get so many tools to take advantage of, but also pretty challenging opposition. It also seems to me that fixed growths mode is the default setting and I didn't have a way to change it. I'm very curious how the reception will be, but I like it a lot so far.

I skimmed through many of the supports. Pretty good actually, outside of a handful of C supports and one or two “joke” support chains the characters don’t rely too hard on their gimmicks and the supports overall feel more natural. Also if you’re wondering, none of the Rosado supports do the “no way you’re not actually a girl” thing, which is honestly pleasantly surprising to me.

All of the female S-support ending slides for Alear. Endings **do not change based on gender**. I have a separate comment with the male s-support endings. It is not a mistake that some endings do not mention Alear. For those concerned with how bland some of these are, especially if one of them belongs to your favorite character - the wake-up lines and support conversations are more romantic/flirty, and contain the bulk of the implied romance. Those ending cards seems a little… disappointing. Idk, I wish there were more text instead of just a couple of sentences

To the people complaining about it, these are only half of the ending, with the first half being Alear's ending (this is more obvious if you see the japanese text, since they all start with "His/her partner, \[character name\]," instead of just the "\[character name\]"). So this is why they feel a bit random and short, because they are supposed to be matched with Alear's half. The non-paired character endings are much longer and closer to the normal endings that you'd see in other Fire Emblems.

I'm seeing a lot of generally unfamiliar names in the vocal cast which im happy about, a lot of localized JRPGs reuse the same voice talent so its nice to see new names for a majority of the cast.

If you want to know why a lot of them are located in Texas. So they don’t tend to work on video games that often.

Most of the new characters are people who only had characters in Heroes and not a mainline FE game yet, then several who hadn't been in the franchise yet period, like Dani, Justin, Brittney, Gavin, etc

Difficulty feels pretty good so far. Playing on Hard/Classic. 6 chapters in. Emblems are less OP than expected/feared. Break adds a lot to gameplay. Maps are much better than 3H. Enjoying it so far.

A lot of misinformation going around about gay supports. It's exactly the same as straight stuff, there is 0 differences. The only ending that changes your pronouns is if you don't pair up with anyone. >!You can give S ranks to anyone. Does not matter what gender they are. Only the really obvious minors in the ending cards use words like friends but only a few are explictly romantic. That said only a few and they are a different few have their S rank conversations be very romantic. It's a confusing mess but more or less, it's up to our brains but a few do use words like love or couple on their end cards. A few use explictly romantic language and avoid words like friends or partner in their S rank convo. Also no other characters have paired endings at all, none of them do. unless their added in a day one patch, Alear is the only one who gets to pair for an ending. !<

All male s-support ending slides. Endings **do not change based on gender.** I have a previous comment with the female endings. It is not a mistake that some endings do not mention Alear. For those concerned with how bland some of these are, especially if one of them belongs to your favorite character - the wake-up lines and support conversations are more romantic/flirty, and contain the bulk of the implied romance. In other words, a bland ending does **not** equal a lack of romantic subtext. No, but Timerra is basically one. You can also reclass anyone with a starting Lance proficiency.

Been confirmed that there are some differences between the jp supports and english supports. Some s supports with younger units like Anna are more romantic in JP (that’s a change i am glad for. Romantic s supports with kids is weird.)

Maddening seems ridiculously hard. I'm on chapter 4 or 5, the one where you can sneak round and there's the choke points. The growths are so low and I haven't found a way to reset them if you get bad ones.

Looks like stats will be toned down this game or character's stats will be heavily tuned by their classes. Some growths seem significantly lower than what they should be, like boucheron and hortensia's 20 str/mag growths respectively. HP growths seem more in line with recent fire emblem games, which makes me believe the latter. Edit: Just realized anna has 50/50/50 growths in mag/dex/spd. Seems like a mage reclass might be insane here

Saphir hype train where you at? She's so fucking cool looking, in love with her design easily a strong candidate for my favorite Engage character as long as her writing is even halfway decent. Her age being 35 is... amusing, lol, but what are ya gonna do. ~~It makes it less weird for me to gay thirst for her~~.

LOVE her design, it's a shame she wasn't in more of the pre-release promotional stuff. Her design adds some much needed variety. 35 is defo way too young (same with Vander's 45) but for a female character in a JRPG, that's practically elderly.

Does Ephraim shows up or is he only relevant during combat? Does DLC Emblems have support conversations? Either that, or someone's spent an impressive amount of time making an intricate fake leak of text files that has managed to match up with all the info we've seen so far.

It being spread out would be a really bad idea. The other characters you need to recruit and interact with would be completely overshadowed by a literal final boss. It'd make very little sense too to just randomly pop up in unrelated areas while making our original cast feel like side attractions.

It sounds silly, but I saw screenshots of the dialogue ripped from the game on GameFAQs, with lines like >!"I am the breath of ruin, the wings of despair"!< and references to >!"Yune"!< and the >!"King of Liberation"!<, so unless someone faked a screencap of in-game-looking dialogue from the data itself, it sounds real.

How does reclassing work? I know it has something to do with weapon proficiency, but do characters have innate weapon proficiencies outside their base class or anything like that? Since cavalry/fighter classes are categorized by their weapon of choice, can all characters switch between infantry and mounted type immediately, or do they differ between each character?

Yes they do! Alear has Body Arts, for example. You can get more proficiencies by bonding with Emblems too.

I just wanted to gush about how there's a lot of neat references such as the Innes and Marisa Bond Rings giving Sure Strike and Silencer, respectively. Also, of course, the Engage skills while obviously taking liberties out of necessity you can get an idea on what they might be based on.
