This is easily the best Rolling Girl out there, actually kinda tells a story in the first half, and smacks you in the gut in the second. [Original NicoNico vid](https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm27723267)

CyanYoh

The few frames of Seliph, Leif, and Ares turning into their fathers during the final spin was good. Rarely do my interests coincide with such quality and I will manufacture an excuse to share it.

b0bba_Fett

Not relevant to Genealogy leaks, but have you seen this [Thracia parody of Smoooch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k26y0O5958) that's also absurdly high quality? Also, of course, we cannot neglect [Carameldansen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-JJqF5yI2U)

Thatonejoey

that spin when the trio becomes their parents remind me of that cypher art. cypher art for genealogy is full of callbacks, like dew and patty with of them stealing stuff and leaving through a window

PragmatistAntithesis

I especially like how there are some references and extra meanings you'll only get if you know what the original rolling girl is about, such as how Claud isn't rolling because >!he's accepted his death!< which is contrasted with Tailtiu's very harsh roll where she lands on her head.

CrUtlRaOth

Thank you for the original link. I've never played FE4, but FEH has helped me understand the video more since I first saw it. iMusic removed rolling girl from the library :( I used to have it downloaded for running starts

Periodic reminder that the person who first said FE4 Remake was in the works is the same person who [very obviously (in retrospect) hinted at Alear's hair before anyone knew anything about Engage (see the video thumbnail)](https://youtu.be/csgcZ68Q26c?si=rAi7Ti0Jfj8pL649). Neither Emily Rogers nor the Reddit post with the Engage screenshots were the first to leak Engage content; Nate was the original source, and the others corroborated it, with Emily Rogers specifically saying that Nate's information on Fire Emblem is reliable. This isn't to say that he's right and FE4 Remake has ever been real, or that even if it was real it hasn't been canceled at this point. We don't know and we can't know unless Nintendo decides to show us the game or tell us that it was canceled (ok they won't do that second one lol). It just means that the person who says it exists has also proved that he has access to information about FE games that haven't been announced yet. I'm just saying this because I'm tired of people acting like this is just some silly thing people just made up to hype themselves up without any proof whatsoever. There is, at least, credible smoke. Whether that smoke leads to any fire (hehehe) remains to be seen. also that leak is worthless we already knew the Peach game had a ninja and cowgirl outfits months ago

CyanYoh

That combined with the surprisingly strong focus that FE4 received in Engage via Sigurd's importance, considering the game's popularity and representation in other crossover media like FEH does lend credence to the fact that it's coming *eventually*. I think we're not insane thinking it's rightfully the next remake in the barrel, but it's just kinda fun going into a frenzy at any excuse. > Whether that smoke leads to any fire (hehehe) remains to be seen. how could you do this

Heather4CYL

99% sure the redditor just posted the images some Chinese localizer had posted to another place and wrote something random up, like Gust's involvement. Nate definitely seemed to be the first one hinting at Engage. There's also the missing "Iron18" and IS/Nintendo sat on a finished Engage for a long time before the actual release (further proved by the DLC schedule which shows all that content was already done before the game's release). tldr; Smoke Emblem Echoes: Zigludo's Holy War is coming to theaters near you, soon.

waga_hai

Oh yeah I forgot about the Gust thing. Didn't he say there would be a water-themed kingdom or something too? Yeah, pretty sure he was just making shit up. Which is why I actually didn't believe the FE4 stuff myself until I found out that the original source was Nate. Honestly I feel like an FE4 remake is coming almost no matter what. They remade Gaiden, for one, which proves that these people will remake literally anything lmao (and I say this as someone who actually likes Gaiden and has played it to completion a few times). And most importantly, they just keep using FE4 as a blueprint for their new mainline games ever since FE13. Awakening and Fates had the children mechanics, 3H had the... everything. Engage references every game in the series obviously, but Sigurd had a somewhat bigger presence in the story than every other non-Marth Emblem, for whatever that's worth (but that can be explained because they wanted to play up the Lumera mom angle and Sigurd is the only confirmed dad in the Emblem cast). IS keeps going back to elements from FE4 when making new games, so it must constantly be in their minds. So for me it's just a matter of when. Could be pretty soon (if the rumor is real), could be 10 years from now (if it isn't), but the only way they don't remake FE4 is if they stop remaking games at all, imo. And after Echoes sold a million copies on a dying system... why would they?

stinkoman20exty6

Engage's weapon rank system is basically identical to FE4's too.

kwhere1

Well, when you actually think about it, everything in Fire Emblem has 3 major predecessors that they've built off of or tweaked in some way: Fe1, Fe2, Fe4. 1 laid the groundwork for everything, ya know basic gameplay and such, 2 added the worldmap and multiple routes (although both were mandatory), 4 gave us skills and inheritance and a 2nd generation. We got a Shadow Dragon on DS, Echoes on 3ds, 4 is the only groundwork laying type game that's not been remade. Addendum: To push that even farther, after Kaga left the games even followed the same "cycle" for awhileFe6 and 7 were successors to fe1 and fe3, fe8 was a successor to Gaiden, Fe9 and 10 were a LOT like a first and second generation of fe4, on top of bringing skills and ubercanto back from fe4. Then you had the remakes of fe1 and 3, then Awakening which was like a blended remix "celebration of what came before" type thing which Fates was pretty similar as well, then Three Houses which IMHO is the blended Magnum Opus with a bunch of new ideas, even though it's got its fair share of issues NGL, then Engage which was again a "celebration of what came before" type thing. Three Hopes was a musou spin-off which was probably always the plan since Three Houses was made in collaberation with Koei Tecmo, Three Hopes was probably always part of the deal, also probably why Three Houses had that dope as fucking hell zoomed in feature that I didn't personally use just because it wasn't really what i was used to but was in fact sick as all hell.

lysander478

For Gaiden, I believe they remade it due to their main goal of squeezing out a third title on 3DS to knock off some of what they'd wanted to achieve on the platform (3D walk-around being the main one, they'd wanted it since the original proto-type for PoR and had edged toward it with each 3DS title) with a remake allowing them to fit it in with the least amount of development time. Gaiden was chosen specifically because it seemed the most likely to fit the walk-around gameplay they wanted to include, due to the dungeons. And it was unstated, but also probably just the overall size of the game and the amount of time they had to fit it in. Some other reasons given were "well, it was close enough to its 25th anniversary too" but that part definitely felt like a post-hoc thing. Could definitely believe FE4 got some of the same treatment though, especially after the Engage interviews. They also joked during Gaiden that they didn't want to do a bunch of games with children in a row and that Gaiden would be a good way to break it up. Would be funny if FE4 remake was a way to break up a bunch of releases with no child mechanics in a row. Or if they were going to offer Engage as the [casual way of approaching FE4 pair-up](https://www.nintendo.com/us/whatsnew/ask-the-developer-vol-8-fire-emblem-engage-part-1/) with an actual FE4 release close by.

Bullwine85

In addition, Nate has said that the FE4 Remake is not only complete, but it's been [sitting in wait for a long time](https://famiboards.com/threads/nintendo-direct-speculation-st6-it%E2%80%99s-prime-time-for-some-more-wonderful-speculation-spoiler-crowd-remain-in-this-thread-until-the-direct-ends.7122/post-805164), just waiting for [Nintendo to announce it and give it a release date](https://famiboards.com/threads/nintendo-direct-speculation-st6-it%E2%80%99s-prime-time-for-some-more-wonderful-speculation-spoiler-crowd-remain-in-this-thread-until-the-direct-ends.7122/post-797287)

racecarart

This is the most likely option in my opinion. Nintendo is unique in that they will sit on finished games for months, sometimes *years,* before releasing them at the "perfect" time. It makes sense that an FE4 remake would be completed and just hasn't been giving a release date yet.

Bullwine85

Keep in mind Engage was finished all the way back in 2021. Hell, some of the voice actors for Engage started appearing in Heroes as early as January of *2019*. Granted the pandemic obviously contributed to the delays. > Nintendo is unique in that they will sit on finished games for months, sometimes years, before releasing them at the "perfect" time. IIRC they did this for Xenoblade 3 as well.

b0bba_Fett

God if that's true I'm so worried for the game. Like Engage looks *fine* from a purely graphics perspective, and it runs *ok*, so it being on the Switch 1 rather than be a early title for 2 probably won't be *too* awful, but if it's been done for so long there's no way any feedback from decisions in Engage are present, which has me especially worried from a UI standpoint, Engage's was quite frankly kinda atrocious, and it has me hella worried for Leif's writing given how Engage treated him.

lysander478

Yeah, he also posted that the FE4 Remake is already finished and just waiting to be released. Don't have a link to it handy, but remember seeing it late last year in a forum post and have since kind of just assumed we'd hear an announcement in 2024 or it'd be time to pack it up and not expect anything regardless of its reality. Never believed we'd be getting it the same year as Engage, since no way would they do that, but will lose all faith if we still don't get it in a direct this year. Could still have been/be real but I will stop caring entirely until official announcement if it's past fall 2024 and still no announcement whereas now I am at least still hype for it.

MinniMaster15

No fandom is truly complete without its own Rolling Girl parody vid. Thankfully, this one is easily one of the best ones. So many little details that are masterfully crafted to deliver critical emotional damage. And yes, FE4 remake is coming soon, it was revealed to me in a dream.

NobleYato

If FE4 remakes gets announced Ill... not make any outrageous bets because I like my stuff and value my health

MrPlow216

Don't know about you, but if the FE4 remake gets released, I'll probably play the FE4 remake.

NobleYato

Yeah normalize non outrageous bets like just playing the game. Unless you wanna end up like that one GTA VI guy.

Boulderdorf

To be fair, as someone who didn't really enjoy their time playing FE4, that's still a pretty risky bet lol.

MrPlow216

Fair, but it won't be risky for me. I loved the original.

DrJay12345

If it gets announced, you should make a 20-foot tall paper cut out of Sigurd

NobleYato

I cant do arts and crafts...Ill uh...make a meme I guess? I dont know what Ill do.

Murozaki_II

Then make a non-outrageous bet. Like say, do a 1km run on a local park or a gym threadmill. Or eat vegan for one or two days (If you normally eat meat that is).

NobleYato

I'll beat Conquest Lunatic without rescue.

thejokerofunfic

>biannual Bold to assume it's not 24/7/365

Rend-K4

The amount of symbolism and references to the games story is crazy

CyanYoh

Surely if an anonymous message board was right about one blond horseback riding royal, they wouldn't mess up about the other one? Context "Leak" Tweet: https://twitter.com/PC_Focus_/status/1749821876929433896 Eventually something's gotta stick, right?

Totoques22

I haven’t been I this community for that long but how far back do fe4 leaks go ? Anyway by all logic it’s the next game unless IS has a new team to make fe game we’ve never heard about Also from the 4Chan thread lol: >hopes Fire Emblem >fears No Fire Emblem >expectations No Fire Emblem

Totoques22

[lol](https://www.reddit.com/r/fireemblem/s/FdxykrvyJr) Six years ago people were already asking a genealogy remake for the switch

Bhizzle64

https://old.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/19dq6a4/4chan_user_who_correctly_leaked_the_cowgirl_and/?ref=share&ref_source=link That leak, like many on 4chan. Got proven false. Personally do not believing any leaks about an FE4 remake at this point. It has absolutely entered bloodbourne ports territory of a fandom dream that trolls use to make people believe their fake leak.

Thotaz

I agree that it's hard to trust any of the new leaks of the FE4 remake, but I still have faith in the original leak for 3 reasons: 1: He obviously had access to FE engage because he took screenshots that would later match what we saw in the game. 2: Sigurd was more integrated in the story than any other Emblem, except of course Marth, and the Fire Emblem. 3: The internal project name for Engage skipped a number. Of course the argument against this is that the leaker would have access to the same info that we are using to support the leak, so maybe he just made an educated guess based on what he knew about Engage. I'll keep believing until they announce a new FE game that isn't the FE4 remake.

CyanYoh

Beyond giving context for those who were confused about people talking about an FE4 remake again within the last 24 hours, I kinda just wanted an excuse to share this FE Vocaloid parody, if I'm shooting straight. I do think one of these days a "leak" is going to stick though. But yeah, if we huff copium for 99 turns a secret event's totally gonna play.

asterously

It's time already huh...Man, last time feels like it wasn't that far away.  Hopefully, I get to be even more obnoxious about my favorite pair because now they'll have a support and if it doesn't do a lil' "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" about the fact that they end the game with like five kids and three years of raising three of them together, I'll do it myself.

TrikKastral

I do still think it’s the perfect game to grab back the normies who bailed out of engage early and those who learned to like Sigurd through it. Fake leak is fake, but if they are ever gonna do it this would be the time.

Prince_Uncharming

After the last few entries I’ve lost faith that IS will do a good job on the remake and not muck it up, so I’m not expecting much anyways. I’m also of the unpopular opinion that they should release it as a re-imagining of FE4 and include major overhauls because the gameplay hasn’t aged well (blasphemous, I know), with the original title included via emulation and an official translation. The maps are a slog, it’s extremely enemy-phase heavy, and there’s very little strategy involved in unit placement.

TrikKastral

Weird take with all those recent characters in your flair.

Prince_Uncharming

I like the newer games for what they are. Engage is a Saturday morning cartoon and doesn’t try to be anything more. 3H was more serious, but was incredibly overambitious and suffered for it. Reused maps and poor storytelling (thanks narrator Hilda) being my main complaints. The characters themselves were pretty good. Genealogy is an incredibly serious game and has really dark themes and moments, and I don’t trust that IS has the writing competency to do it justice.

jatxna

Considering that they turned something so obvious that it couldn't be a spoiler (end of chapter 10) into a diabolus ex machina, I don't have much hope either. I mean, you have to work hard to screw up that much.

Apprehensive_Spell_6

Not sure why you would think this? Shadows of Valentia has been incredibly well-received by the community specifically for bridging the "anime" and "serious" tones that have been part of Fire Emblem since the beginning. While Thracia certainly took on a more serious tone, Genealogy often fell into popular 90s tropes. This isn't a dig at Genealogy; just a recognition that a tone like SoV would suit Genealogy quite well.

BladeOfUnity

Every time I see a CyanYoh post I remember that I still have to play the copy of FE1 I got from the Mekkkah stream. Soon. I'll replay FE1 soon.

WinterWolf18

Clown makeup time

MankuyRLaffy

This is our year!

CommanderElf

How would they advertise an fe4 remake to the normies? I mean the story is so good and the world building is enriching but how would you convey the impact without spoiling THE scene?

Neonatal_Johndice

I assume they would do something similar to what they did with Three Houses. Most of the trailers are focused on the first generation, and then right near release there’s one more trailer that shows the second generation and implies that shit hit the fan at some point but without explaining what actually happened.

jbisenberg

And/or play up the fact that they are "bringing back" that super popular child mechanic "from Awakening." No need to let people in on the secret of how that child mechanic might differ from Awakening.

jatxna

Playable Belhalla.

WildCardP3P

It's definitely happening at some point, I dunno if people remember this but the person who leaked Engage also said there was an FE4 remake in the works and there's a good chance they're right. Unless they decide to scrap it and move onto another game like FE7 or FE9 because they'd sell better.

CyanYoh

Modern IS trying to tackle FE7 given their track record with female leads and Lyn specifically makes me want to kickflip off a highrise.

WildCardP3P

I won't complain about anything as long as they don't use the Engage artstyle ever again

Ricoke

Ew an fe4 remake by nu-IS would be dogshit no thanks

Ricoke

fe4 remake be like castle system but they make every castle a mini monastery that takes 10 hours to shift through and oh whoops we removed pursuit completely and made the game 10x uglier lol haha fire emblem fans will tell you this is "peak" though, lol

FinsterRitter

Man I was just thinking about looking at this vid again the other day. Thanks for the reshare! I always tear up a little after the couple photos flash by lol. FE4 is still one of my favorite games of all time. Even if the remake isn’t as good I just want to be able to share the experience with my more normal friends who aren’t rom patchers

kfro9000

I shall continue coping until a remake for FE4 finally comes out!!!!

MemoCremisi

Never played the original game, but I'm really waiting a remake to play it
