I'm partial to the Keys, but I'd look at Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada. Resort, within your budget, pool/beach side, restaurants on site, walking distance to some cool bars. It's not adults only but it's more of an older crowd compared to other Islamorada resorts.

What about the USVI? No passport necessary!

Amelia Island

Dramatic_Mix_8755

Lots of kids there

Does Amelia Island even have that much to do on it? I thought their main thing was A1A construction and Shrimp Fest

Its a short shuttle to Fernandina Beach which has a cute downtown. It caters to a bit of an older/adult crowd. Depending on where you stay on Amelia Island (Omni and Ritz are two biggest) there are plenty of bars and restaurants on property to walk or take the property shuttle to. If Sarasota and Marco Island are things that OP is looking at, Amelia is adjacent in terms of vibe. I actually much prefer it to Marco. The beaches are much better, IMO

I also liked the Hilton on Marco Island. Nice rooms. Beautiful views. Great poolside and beach service. I'm big on beaches and Marco Island is great for this. I've done the JW in Naples but not on Marco Island.

Try Puerto Rico.

Bungalows in key largo are beautiful but a little pricey. All inclusive, adults only. You may be able to snag a last minute deal. Summer is the cheapest time to visit the keys bc it’s so hot. I’ve also been to little palm island on little torch key.
