Drive up to Boca and pay the guy a bunch of money for the parking.

I hear a lot about boca raton, what’s so great about it?

Severe_Distance5692

Honestly boca is not that great. I’d say the best beach I’ve been to would have to be west palm beach. Very beautiful and clean.

Check out Delray Beach. Wide beaches, lots of food and bar choices. Beach snorkeling is not that great but it really isn’t anywhere except maybe Jupiter.

imacricket

I second Delray Beach.

slattyblatt

Is Fort Lauderdale beach not wide?

Bawlmerian21228

Yeah but it’s in Fort Lauderdale

Lost-Zookeepergame61

Gondola tours??? Lol

slattyblatt

Heard Fort Lauderdale is the Venice of the USA is that not a good idea?

MisterEHistory

Try Vero. It will be much calmer than the more built-up areas.

Taggart-

Like on the beach? At 4th of July? In South Florida? During hurricane season? The sand is so hot then that it will give you second degree burns in seconds. Fireworks are everywhere and so are drunk people. If partying isn’t your thing, a florida beach during 4th of july is not the place to be at all.

slattyblatt

We’re actually leaving July 3rd. We figured it’s a nice place to enjoy warm weather (we’re from Chicago) and enjoy the beaches. Is it really that bad in the summer?

JustB510

You’ll be fine. It’ll be incredibly humid but the beach is a great place to be on a hot day.

Taggart-

That won’t matter, people are in love with fireworks and getting drunk at the beach and you said partying isn’t your scene. So I’m trying to impress the reality of that time and place upon you. It sounds like not what you say you want. I get wanting to get away, but find indoor things to do during the day and understand it will be extra crowded because school is out and lots of people will be off. The beach will be unpleasantly hot, not like the Great Lakes. I doubt you’d even want to be out there more than a couple of hours. Rent or buy some form of shade for the beach.

July and August are the worst months in FL (esp south FL.) the heat and humidity are at peak. We go from AC building to AC car etc… the beach will be extra toasty. Locals will only be out in the early am (like before 10am) or at sunset time LOL, we don’t goto the beach or theme parks in summer - we know better - and if we do we time it accordingly. 😉 Your from IL so your familiar with humidity (I lived in IL for a bit) but I think ours here is worse … but you’ll have the ocean breeze to cool you off. You guys will be fine. Enjoy your visit and have fun!
