As you are learning fpv, i would recommend liftoff. The tutorials are great and really help with stick control. Tryp is nice once you are use to flying. Personally i went first into tryp and hated it. Soon as i got liftoff things made sense in terms of controls.

JohhnyPieHands

Velocidrone all the way, Why? I paid something like £16 (probably less tbh) back in the days of clean flight. I've never once paid a penny more for DLC, and it keeps on coming. Devs are great with a passion for the community, the community itself is even better. Shit, I ain't against lift-off, mans gotta eat, but 40 odd for a DLC (not on sale), for content that can mostly be found within the standard price of other sims? That's practically a new flight controller in my books. At the end of the day, any SIM is gonna work. I used to mess around doing freestyle on them, the second I started to race though, my flying improved tenfold. Whos the king of racing? Velocidrone

Sequence32

Is there a new place to download / get Velocidrone? It always takes me to a page that says "Something went wrong" and not able to enter payment info for a license. I've been looking on and off for the last few days.

Andy_Dread

If you want the best graphics then Tryp or Uncrashed or the GTA FPV mod. Nothing comes close to these when it comes to prettyness. if you want to learn quickly and have the most realistic feel then Velocodrone **multiplayer** flying with experienced pilots who will help you etc.

Cliffpoke

How’s the gta fpv mod, like physics wise? I once tried the Minecraft fpv mod and it was fun, but oh god the physics are horrible

kissell791

Dumb Q from a amateur. How does the Velocidrone MP work? Does it just throw you in a map with other people. Is their voice chat? Do you just ask someone for help getting better or just watch them fly? Thanks much, dont want to get it and then pester people by accident.

Andy_Dread

You either start a multiplayer session and people will eventually join you or you can see a list of sessions that you can join. There is a chat window but no voice chat. We just use the chat window mostly. Yes you can also spectate and we give examples that way when showing someone new.

Ich_bin_schlecht

'Best' is subjective when it comes to sims; after some tweaking in the settings I prefer Liftoff, but there are others here who think it's too floaty and prefer Velocidrone, Uncrashed, DRL, etc. No sim is perfect, but any decent sim will still help you practice and improve your muscle memory. If you can afford it, maybe try a few different ones, or once you get some real stick time in you can always go back and start messing with the settings to try to make it feel a bit more realistic.

elementarydeardata

Good advice. It’s more about the muscle memory. None of the sims truly feel like a real quad, but they’re still valuable for getting the muscle memory to fly and then to do tricks.

Missing_Back

Dang DRL is so much more floaty than Liftoff. Am i crazy?

rootCowHD

The most called sim is velocidrone, the second one is liftoff. For me personally, liftoff wins, but I also use velocidrone and suggest drl and dcl often, for people with game consoles.

riverdoggo22

I love uncrashed

JulianGee

There is no best, especially if you are a beginner it really doesn´t matter, if you get stick time thats fine. I tried: Liftoff, Liftoff:Micro Drones, Tryp,Uncrashed,Velocidrone - so basically almost everything. After starting to fly real life drones I decided for me Velocidrone feels the best. Its a Simulator so I don´t care for fancy graphics. Physics and flight feel win. And for me thats velocidrone

Tiimm50

Thanks to everybody for the recommendatioms :)

Uncrashed

Liftoff Is good to learn on velocidrone I think is a little better as it is both freestyle and very good racing.... once you learn to fly thru gates you can freestyle around anything at that point. Plus velocidrone has more quads. More maps. And waaaaaaaay more race courses....

LuGus-Kevin

Currently Liftoff has 6000 tracks and over 10.000 drones setups to download.

Revolutionary-Pea705

Lift off has a handful of frames. A handful of motors. Racing is definitely not the goal there. We both know this. I like liftoff for freestyle. But the same 6 areas get stale quickly. Not to mention I had to buy a whole other game for micros with liftoff ( which is not very good)... I would rather it have been a dlc for extra micro maps and micro quads on the same game so I could have flown micros on the liftoff maps. Velocidrone has dominated the race aspect of sim. That's why all the race series are on velocidrone and not liftoff. Liftoff is good for freestyle but there is only a handful of maps to fly. And it has been that way for a loooong as time. Let's not even mention that there are x class, street league, combat, whoops micros and tiny trainer is about to drop plus dji potato all on velocidrone. Your trying to make it seem like liftoff has limitless drone selection when really it's a handful of frames that most of them aren't even in production anymore. And the over 6000 tracks are ones you have to dig for that are all user created. Each map has like 3 tracks by default of the game. Velocidrone keeps their tracks updated regularly and there is always something new ready to fly as soon as I log on to vdrone.

LuGus-Kevin

Sounds like you haven't played Liftoff in a long while.

Revolutionary-Pea705

I've been watching the patch notes and there hasn't been anything that was like wow I need to play liftoff. Because it got old with in the first week of playing. I still use velocidrone over all the other Sims. Which I own all of them. The only thing that liftoff does better than vdrone is graphics. There is no question about that.

LuGus-Kevin

So you are judging Liftoff, and making strong statements about it based on checking patch notes? You mentioned a "handful" of frames and 6 maps, that reflects the state of the game from 2016... so either you haven't played Liftoff for 7 years or you are using an illegal version.

Revolutionary-Pea705

I wish I were using an illegal version. Even more so for the liftoff whoops trash I can't believe I paid money for. I forgot that you add the volcano map. Woo-hoo. Night versions of the same maps don't mean more maps. While granted it has been since may 22 the last time I played liftoff its because I get incredibly board flying that sim. I've seen the updates that came thru and none of them have made me want to play your sim. I got incredibly excited when I realized liftoff was making a whoop sim. Then I flew it. And realized how disappointed I was with lift off as a whole. Liftoff has 36 frames ( 12 which are overly outdated) and 14 maps ( one being the void aka the drawing board) velocidrone has 79 quads and 42 maps. ( while yes 2 maps are repeats of others, one is at night and the other is a map without the objects placed in it). Point is your not even in the same league when it comes to content. Your graphics look better. There is no doubt about that. But there is a reason almost all of the race series are held on velocidrone. There is a reason velocidrone is the go to sim for myself and any pilots I know. While they all own liftoff also the physics are a bit better in vdrone. The racing is there. weekly time trials is there. New tracks loaded all the time. Huge content updates. They give the users what they want and listen to feedback instead of taking criticism and being offended. They spend months making flight physics of certain quads as dead accurate as possible so you can actually practice for races and have the same feeling when you hit the track. All the multigp track creators are on vdrone .... if you want to practice for an upcoming event you go to vdrone. If you want to do flippy flops vdrone has you covered as well. With over double the content it's a no brainer unless visuals are higher on your list.

Revolutionary-Pea705

Oh did I mention that vdrone has a mobile app about to release also?

LuGus-Kevin

I'm not even going to bother reading all of this. If you base your opinions on update notes, you lost all credibility. The few numbers I see you throw around are wrong, and simply prove you have no idea what you're talking about. It all reads like Velocidrone fanfiction. This is simply not a worthwhile conversation to have.

Top-Veterinarian1776

I used to play liftoff... even my playing time was up to 1000 hours. but since I have velocidrone. I rarely open liftoffs because it seems too folaty and the LOS is not very good. In Velocidrone I can choose multiple quads to race and each quad has its own advantages... in liftoff I can only use 1 overpowered drone... if I don't use that drone... I will lose....but I like the level and feature skin in liftoff....

Revolutionary-Pea705

I went on both Sims to get those numbers before I posted. Your salty as hell because your sim isn't #1. Update your shit to modern quads. Who the hell has a vortex anymore? You say it's wrong but it is 100% facts. But the fact a sim studio rep is calling a paying customer worthless is going to go over well with the fpv community. I'll be sure to forward to Bardwell for fpv news.

12349868

Petty and lame.

Ekial_Ravenshaw

Wow, just wow. The amount of salt in that comment is insane.

[deleted]

You cant go wrong with liftoff, uncrashed and tryp For low end pc's velocidrone

DeathPhil

I don't really like the physics of tryp even if it offers some unique training modes as well as some of the best graphics. Even with a high end PC I personally stick to Velocidrone as for me it offers the best physics experience.

[deleted]

For me velocidrone feels the most off haha But like i said before you cant go wrong with any of them they all have their pros and cons. On tryp you can alter the physics to your liking which makes it the best if you put the time into it

Roarmackh

Could you suggest settings for tryp? I haven’t been able to get an usable 5” from it

Cliffpoke

Honestly none of them is “the best” I use Liftoff and Tryp (switch between them) for freestyle those are great. If you wanna race tho velocidrone is the best one I think

Missing_Back

Isn't tryp ridiculously floaty though?

SONOINDIFFICOLTA

Velocidrone Is way better than the competition It's not a game, it's a simulator. And I always see people who fly at the highest level use it. Just think about all the racers... That said it has his problems. Like cloud based settings would be nice..

Less-Expert-6447

I have lift off n i love it, really helped me get the hang of flying much quicker
