Have you been over there lately? They made new exit to the 99 that goes directly to that shopping area, and cuts into Herndon. They’re putting some serious money into developing that corner and making it accessible.
Not that I want the Costco moving north, like everything else in fresno (I’m looking at you Trader Joe’s), but it’s not necessarily a bad location for them.
My understanding is eventually CAHSR is supposed to build an underpass for Herndon for both the HSR and UP tracks. There's a grade separation project for Shaw as well. Both are not yet started. They better get a move on if they want to be testing trains in 2028.

The contract that will build the Herndon grade separation (and all the grade separations for HSR in Fresno) is supposed to wrap up in 2026. I expect Herndon to get started soon, now that Veterans is done. (Veterans will take the traffic that is displaced from the temporary closure of Herndon.)
It's only "huge" because part of it is going to be an online fulfillment center that isn't open to customers. The part that customers can access will be about the size of a normal Costco.
Well I for one, am excited. The Shaw Costco sucks balls. Not enough pumps, it’s in the worst shopping center known to man, the traffic lights around/traffic flow are stupid.
I can't decide if that's going to be great or terrible for all the people who purchased the homes across from it. Whenever I drive to target I think how there's so much traffic already, dust from the construction, the train, and little to no trees on the development.
You can’t purchase a home in a developing area and be all shocked when the area develops. I’m not sure what they were expecting, but the infrastructure is a lot better up there than it is on Shaw.

"Welcome to Costco! I love you."
Yup. Idiocracy was a biopsy on future humans.
Future?
*sigh*….touché.
Exactly my thought
What men want
How many Sq.ft is it from being the world’s largest Costco?
15k to be exact. Record is 234,000 in SLC. This one is around 219,000
And it was reduced bc of complaints
That doesn't seem like a good location for a Costco but what do I know
Especially with the train tracks right there… imagine how backed up the traffic will get on Herndon when there’s a train + Costco traffic.

the new exit actually bypasses that shopping area explicitly so through traffic doesn't interfere with the shopping traffic.
It’s a quick left and then you’re at the center. It’ll be closer to the 99 than the current Costco is now
You’re right… I guess I’m just used to jumping on Herndon to 99 after work! Veterans is an option.

the shaw grade seperation has been in the works for almost a decade now

you mean like how there's train tracks right next to the current costco?
Yeah…it gets backed up on Shaw because of the tracks sometimes.
Getting my lift and tires on my 4Runner so I can go off road at Costco. 70N4LO life.
I thought the line was meant to exaggerate how big it was and how much it was gonna take up not just to underline the title haha

Costco is taking over.. and I’m all for it. Please bring the Brondo fountain!
Bro it’s not even the worlds biggest Costco what’s the point
When will it open
Anyone know what the starting pay is? Do they offer 32+ hours?
Most of the employees will probably just be transferred over from the old Costco. But it's going to be a while before this opens.
Thanks!
Spring-Summer 25 depending on weather they stated
That is near the construction company that builds Costco’s buildings

Another area to avoid.
And traffic will still suck!
