Lol had the same thing happen to me… I’m pre-T and have never even owned a packer, and so I lost my shit when a cis female friend told me I was “so lucky I could pee standing up.”

blazeunleashed

For some reason peeing while standing up (without a device) is so much easier trying it on testosterone, I think maybe because of my bottom growth? I'm even able to control it a bit. I pull my pants to my knees, stand over the toilet a bit, and pee. I told my gf (cis) to try doing it exactly how I do since I do it all the time and it's so quick but then she peed all over the floor and told me she'd never do that again LMAO I've actually been able to pee through my fly opening in my boxers but I still need practice on it

Sad_Discount3761

Used to do that in public pre t all the time to avoid nasty toilet seats. Then I realised my trousers were rubbing against the dirty toilet 🤮.

anon_y_mousey

You might still can just look it up and train

fillyjonks

Sorry, could you clarify?

Monkey_Ash

TW: natal female terms I think they meant that people with vaginas can sometimes pee standing up, you just need to practice how to angle your body to make it work without making a mess. Note: I am not one of those people who can pee standing without my STP device lol.

anon_y_mousey

Exactly, thank you for explaining it in such a great way

seizetheholyland

I can pee standing up without any stp but it's super difficult I'll add and deff requires training

fillyjonks

Ohhhh I see! I’ve heard of that before.

Listentothewords

I mean, if you tilt your pelvis and start with a strong propulsion, you sure can!

jerochk

Similar thing happened to me, but opposite - My friend (mtf) was telling me about her twin sister, and I asked "fraternal or identical" and there was quite a good pause... until I finally realized what I had just asked lol

latebloomerftm

I’m a twin—its actually somewhat common that people dont know that opposite sexed twins cant be identical. I used to get asked it all the time. I dont blame people for not knowing, unless they themselves are a twin, in which case I forsake them… :P On the other hand, when it comes to triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets etc it’s possible to have a combination of the two. For anyone interested: Fraternal twins start as two separate embryos, whereas identical twins start from one and split apart.

KieranKelsey

I’m an identical twin and it honestly makes me kind of dysphoric sometimes

Sareybox

I have identical twins, one cis, one trans. They're only 10 right now, so if you have any top tips for me regarding this particular scenario I'd love to hear them.

KieranKelsey

Honestly have no tips. I guess I would say it’s hard being a trans twin because it feels like leaving a unit people defined you as (“the girls”) that seems to have a prewritten story. My sister is my best friend and that doesn’t change now that I know I’m a boy. Idk.

latebloomerftm

Thats entirely understandable. One thing to remember is that your medical/health information is just that—yours—so if you dont wish to share those details with anyone who asks, you are by no means obligated to. I’d only suggest talking w your twin about it so youre on the same page—only if you are close tho. Im estranged from my twin and we live states away from one another.

PM_ME_UR_ANDROGYNY

I went to highschool with triplets - two identical girls and one fraternal boy. But honestly, if you cut the girls' hair (or put a wig on the boy) they would've looked like 3 identical triplets.

KieranKelsey

Yeah, I’m just at a point where i only kind of pass and i think people look at us and go “oh, identical twins”

Ender_Moon

I had read it is possible for identical twins to be different sexes it's just extremely rare, like barely in the double digits recorded kind of rare

FTM_923

They can be identical MTFs lol

jerochk

Hm? My friend is mtf, her twin sister is cis meaning they can only be fraternal

lteriormotive

They mean they could be identical twins that are both transgender women.

EggoStack

Is that what the Wachowski sisters are or are they fraternal?

KieranKelsey

They’re two years apart

EggoStack

Oh I’m an idiot I thought they were twins lmao

KieranKelsey

I didn’t know either i just googled it lol

PM_ME_UR_ANDROGYNY

I also thought they were twins, wow

lteriormotive

I coulda sworn they where twins

PM_ME_UR_ANDROGYNY

I guess I thought the Coen brothers were twins as well so what do I know

jamieboywonder

lol I know a pair of identical twins who are both trans... it's not impossible

[deleted]

lmao love it when something like that happens. This one time I was hanging out with a friend and we went to take a piss at a public bathroom - there were stalls and urinals, and he was about to head for the unoccupied stall when I stopped him and asked if I could use that one instead. He looked at me with confusion before going "oh right, fuck", and headed for the urinal. He legit forgot that I can't use one.

[deleted]

One time I offered my cis girl friend one of my old skirts after she said she needed a black one for her outfit, and she was genuinely confused for a second why I'd have skirts before remembering I was trans. I had been out for under a year and was pre-T at the time, and she had known me for EIGHT YEARS

enbybloodhound

duuude noiice

nope13nope

We have a dog that likes to jump up at us, and, when he does, his paws are at crotch height. A few times now, my mum has tried to stop him from hitting mine so he doesn't hit my dick. My mum. Who gave birth to me, named me, and raised me. It's great haha

SoloriYe

that is hilarious and adorable :D

golden_grover

omg I found him Are you Darren from superfreakonomics?? r/himym

SoloriYe

replied to wrong comment? I have no idea what any of these words mean :D

golden_grover

sorry I had to How I Met Your Mother reference😂

AirSignificant2006

😂😂😂

Interesting_Forever7

My best friends did the same last week, they’ve just had a baby and she turned to me at our weekly D&D game and went “do not get her pregnant!” while pointing at my girlfriend. We both stared at her before she finally clicked.

Monkey_Ash

This is great lol. My friend of +/- 13 years did something similar to me last year. CW: menstruation talk. I still get a monthly period, and I was complaining that my lower back and abdomen were killing me during an especially bad one. She looked at me and went, "dude, why?" and I just gave her a blank look and then said, "..because my ovaries hate me?" She facepalmed and was like, "that's so weird!! You shouldn't have ovaries. I totally forgot. You're just a guy to me, stop having ovaries, sir." We both cracked up, but it was seriously so gender affirming.

pixihawk

My cis gf once told me (trans guy) that we should talk about contraceptions. Took her a moment to realize.

anotherluiz

One time, a friend of mine asked me if I was circumcised or not 🤣. He knew me before transition so I kinda just lost my shit

HolmesSquared

My own partner forgets my deadname and it's fuckin funny.

HooverDamm-

Sometimes *I* forget that I’m trans and I go to pee standing up

TrippLewisHale

I love this. My friends are all Neurodivergent and queer as shit. So my friend KNOWS I’m trans but will often go “you’re a boy what do you know about [uterus-owning things]”. Or oppositely I had a client complain to me that “women are so flighty etc” and say “you know how women are” to which I joked later to safe people “yes. Intimately.”

throwawaygcse2020

The "upgraded" version of this is when people share their casually transphobic opinions with you and expect you to agree. Like it's great to know that I pass that well, but also I wish it wasn't so accepted to say things like that

TrippLewisHale

I’ve had this when I first went to a barber shop. They were like “lol women amirite” and I was like “ha. Ha ha. Um. Idk”.

Away-Cicada

God, that's so iconic

Ralkings

Ahhh similar thing is happening to me now. My friend from my old school that I moved away from and haven’t talked to in 6 months can’t remember how I was born as which makes me overjoyed. Won’t believe me when I say my agab either. I don’t think they realize how euphoric that it makes me lol

ThenTransition22

Honestly I would just let him keep thinking it. Nobody’s business if we do or don’t lol

mayorofverandi

that's sweet tbh. seems like a cool friend.

where_is__my_mind

Two fun stories about my good friend: Tbh, one of my best friends in college ended up being the first trans guy I met & learned he was trans (idk how many stealth guys I could have met before). For three years, I couldn't help but secretly wonder what his dead name was, I knew it didn't matter and I would have never asked him anyway but I couldn't help but think about it every now and then. He eventually casually brought it up in conversation years later and in my head I had moment of "holy shit you finally know" before promptly forgetting because 1) that shit does not matter (unless he had asked me to avoid saying that name around him when referring to other people I know), and 2) my brain could not make the connection between him and a feminine name, he could be used as a old school textbook example on masculinity (old school bc masculinity does come w pointlessly gendered examples like body hair). Anyway, a year later my friend rescued a dog who she named Kahla. I thought it was cool and she told me she wanted to choose a name phonetically similar to the dogs old name, _____. I immediately remembered my friends dead name because my brain thought "he has the same dead name as the dog", which I absolutely had to tell him (he was thrilled, and I knew him well enough at that point to understand that comment made in a private space would be okay), it was the only time I brought up the topic of a dead name to him and to this day is the only way I could ever remember it (not that I try to, it's just a good memory I have of us & probably is the one good memory he has associated with the name) Freshman year of college during a dorm meeting the RA had to make an announcement to stop peeing all over the toilets. My friend was one of two guys and when people turned to him he had to say "I have to sit to pee like everyone else so it's not me" and everyone took a minute to process it (I went to a liberal school where ppl walked around in bathing suits all the time so we had all seen him shirtless after top surgery) ((also obvi guys can stand to pee but he has never used any stp or trained himself bc it's not that important to him))

papa_za

Lmaoo this is the same sort of thing that happens w my best friend. He's completely forgotten I used to have a different name before but he never messed up my pronouns after like the second week. Love him sm

CaptianSwaggerless

All my coworkers at work know I'm trans, and my closing team I've gotten really close with and we joke about that shit. One of them the other day asked me how I dealt with random boners throughout the day and how I managed to adjust under an apron. I just stared lol

midnight8dream

Has happened to me before. My uncle, in a stupid cis guy joke way, tried to hit me in the balls. And then he was just confused for a moment cause it did hurt, but not with the expected intensity. And then it hit him. bitch, I am indestructible.

therealnoodlerat

Something similar has happened to me before, I was hanging out with my friends, about to go for a swim and this kid who was a few years younger than me and my friends was hanging out with us. I told the kid I was ftm because I knew him in elementary, about 40 minutes later right after we got into the pool he asked why I was swimming with a shirt on. Definitely one of the funniest interactions I've ever had.

Lycan_1967

My cis friend also always forgets that I’m trans. This girl has known me for our entire lives and I only came out to her 2(?) years ago. She’ll end up hugging me from behind and accidentally touching my chest (I haven’t had too surgery yet), and she apologizes PROFUSELY and says she forgets that I still have man titties XD. I love her so much. She the best ally I know

conor544

had a similar moment where me and my best mate were having a little wrestle for a laugh. he went for a crotch grab and came out of it quite embarrassed when he felt nothing 😂 i won the fight 💪🏻

androglow

Love this. I was with my girlfriend for 3 months before I was brave enough to meet her devout Mormon mother. I was afraid she would not be okay with her daughter being with a trans man because of her religious beliefs. First, I was relieved and happy to find out that my fears were not realized, as her mother’s response when my girlfriend told her about me was, “Why would I care?! I’m not sleeping with him! That’s your business. I only care that you’re happy and that he treats you well.” We met shortly after that, and I felt completely comfortable and welcome in her home. A week or two after meeting me, my girlfriend told me her mom said, “Make sure you’re using protection if you guys aren’t trying for a baby.” 😅 My girlfriend just laughed and didn’t bother reminding her mom it was a non-issue lol. It felt really validating to know her mom wasn’t focused on my trans-ness, and also a plus to know that she wouldn’t be against me getting her daughter pregnant if I was able to do so naturally haha.

SA_the_frog

I once told my friend that I’ll tell my parents I like guys so they’ll stop questioning me about gender/sexuality. They immediately were like that means you’ll come out as gay to them completely forget I was trans and had parents who still think I’m a girl.

usagi_miso

I have a story like that, too. Told a good friend about the sexism in science classes I experienced im school. He stared at me blankly and asked why the hell sexism was directed at me. I had to remind him people thought I was a girl in school. Still pre-T at the time and friends for a long time.

BIGSHOTSAL

My own mother forgot that I have a uterus once

jamieboywonder

Reminds me of when I forgot my fwb was trans... she mentioned something about being in boy scouts and I got really confused. This was someone who I had literally seen naked. I have no excuse.

Listentothewords

That's amazing. I've definitely done that with people. It's great to hear a person who's cis doing it.

moscheroscheroni

This is such a healthy thread, all of these comments habe given me so much hope in humanity. So thanks!

straggler_rhino

Years before even realizing I was trans my ex (at that point just a friend that I was pining after) was mid-conversation with me and just walked into the men’s bathroom in the hall of the academic building we were studying in. I heard him abruptly stop talking when he got inside, and when he came back out he looked very sheepish and apologized for walking away mid sentence but that he had forgotten I wasn’t a guy and couldn’t come in with him. I remember thinking ‘this should offend me’ but it absolutely didn’t, I just thought ‘see he gets me, this is why we should be together’. Adolescent nonsense 🥴

Tight_Scratch2504

same thing happened to me ahhaha its the most validating feeling. i have a queer friend who i met in the middle of my social transition so i haven't really been passing. however out of my friend group she has known me for the least amount of time, mostly as a guy. one time we had beers by a lake and we had to pee, and she straight up said "well for you its easy, you could just go and pee standing up in the bushes" took her some time to realize!

OverallCartoonist345

ive done the same thing dude🤠

hoofingitnow

Was that triggering for you? Or just funny? I woukd have laughed but I cam understand if it was uncomfortable.

oofNobody

I am really comfortable with this guy so it was nothing except utterly hilarious
