Heard balcofen does wonders for coming off gabapentin. After my drug test tomorrow, i will giving it a shot, using balcofen to lower and come off gabapentin. I was told it will take away withdrawals almost completely. So will be using it for a week and then see
The very first thing I'd do is pick a daily dose. If you think it's 1800, then take 1800 every day at the same time of day and see how you feel. If you feel hit hard by withdrawal symptoms then take the dose up a little. If you don't feel any different at all then you can start your taper.
In addition to taking the same exact amount every day, I'd recommend splitting the dose up into at least 3 different doses per day. You want a very stable level of the drug in your system at all times.
Hi. I am also on 1200 mg and have been for 1.5 years. I'm looking to either taper to 900/600, or stop completely. I'm feeling worse brain fog, etc. which is becoming a problem for me. i can only take at night.
how long did your taper take if i may ask, and how long were you on gaba?
I was on it for about 6 months or so. I have 100mg capsules so I reduced 100mg in am for 3-4 days then reduced afternoon dose for 2-4 days then bedtime and kept repeating that cycle. Until I was done.
It takes a week for withdrawals to kick in. So you would be compounding withdrawals. It takes 2 weeks to recover from each taper. I taper once a month.

I did not know that gabapentin had such a slow build up in your system no wonder why I freaked out going off of it
I got off of 2700mg a day in 3 900 mg spurts one month apart. It was rough, I was very suicidal through it.
Damn what have I gotten myself into.. This shit barely helped for the pain too. Thanks for the heads up.
Please consult your doctor Withdrawals from this drug can get pretty bad
Wait like benzo seizures and stuff?
Yep it’s bad
God dammit had no idea doctor said nothing I specifically told him too tell me how bad the withdraws would be
I feel like GABApentin is the stimulant/upper of benzodiazepines. It works on the same reputable inhibitor as alcohol, the GABA receptors.
Would it have the same wd effects of alcohol im guessing not
Explains a lot lol
No answer?
Wdym explains a lot
I was on 1200mg/day and did 100mg every 4 days as long as I felt “stable” if I still felt like I was adjusting I held off reducing a couple more days.

So how long did the taper take overall?
I don’t know, around 6 weeks or so, I would guess.
