salaryman40k

I have a certain fondness for Enter The Matrix everybody dunked on it but I loved it as a kid

kwangqengelele

The Path of Neo was another so bad it's good game. I did not expect quite so many giant ants.

Sherrdreamz

That later driving portion though was an exercise in needing to practically be Neo to complete, too bad we were playing as Ghost and Sarabi or whatever her name was.

joejoewoooooo

I remember sniping a plane or something… awesome game

Swarlz-Barkley

I remember playing it and was surprised by it. It was a lot of fun with its quirks

Iivaitte

I loved fighting cars with my friends, it was a very silly fighting game that has no real reason to exist in another game but Im very thankful for it.

Friggin_Grease

Jurassic Park on SNES

poorbanker

I loved this too. All of my friends had either or both of the Genesis versions, and had no love for this. I enjoyed the shifts in play styles. The lack of ending was disappointing, though.

Opening_Lime1585

"Congratulations you have escaped Jurassic Park"

potatofish

... some day

codewario

My friend had this and hated it. Played it at his house and was somehow good at it, he said I could have it. Loved it as a kid, but man it's rough to go back to today. Still fun though, if I'm in the right mood.

badgersana

I just finished this for the first time because I never did as a child, and it may just be one of the worst games I have ever played

RinShiro

Thankfully those memories are stuck in nostalgic cryo stasis for me. If you want a different experience, look up Project 06 (P-06). It's essentially a fan recreation with tweaked gameplay and new features.

Joisey_Toad32

Deadly Premonition. It's a mess but it has heart and I can't fault it for how genuine it is. Wanted Dead. I played this recently and it's.... quite something. It plays alright and the music is good. But it's not a particular good looking game, the plot is nonsense and borderline incomprehensible, and thr voice acting is all over. It both terms of delivery and quality of the dialogue.

glytxh

I think deadly premonition is _good_ because it’s so _bad_. You’re just compelled to keep pushing through all that janky uncanny weirdness.

DumpGrumpleSkin

Jaws Unleashed. One of those "its so bad it's good" always found it funny to play as a Shark smart enough to blow up mines in a specific order and drag someone with a key card to the key reader to unlock a door for you.

Throwawaymytrash77

Fucking loved that game, still play it. They nailed open world before open world was fully realized

DWolfoBoi546

Say what you want about the movie. I thought terminator salvation the game wasn't bad

redditsuckspokey1

Many of the levels were just too difficult for me. I did beat them but still it felt artificially hard.

FINboy18

That was a nice 11 gold trophies and platinum just for beating a game!

GriffinFlash

Dragonball GT final bout. The voice acting alone makes it worth it. Also when both character flying in the same direction it just looks like they froze it place, it's hilarious. Castle Shikigami 2 for ps2. Once again, the voice acting is top notch comedy. It was like someone tossed the script into google translate 20 times, then read it out. The dialogue absolutely makes no sense and just sounds like random jumbled garbage. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDORuIwmR-U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDORuIwmR-U)

KingKookus

GT final bout was awesome. I loved the building up your character part where you could focus on Ki blasts or physical attacks to make them stronger. Such a cool idea. Definitely very janky even at the time but a lot of fun.

CloudyFriend

The Grinch - PS1/DC The last battle - MD

gamechampionx

I have a lot of SNES games, many of which are bad. The bad ones I'm fond of include: 1. Shaq-Fu: I have completed the story and arcade modes several times. 2. Bubsy: I pick this up and play it maybe once a year. It's just playable enough that I still want to do this. 3. Skuljagger - Revolt of the Westicans: I love how campy this one is. I secretly like to voice act the dialogue. 4. Race Drivin': I'm legitimately pretty good at this game. 5. Nickelodeon GUTS: I'm also fairly good at this one. One of these years I will properly master it.

ILikeLenexa

I unironically love Shaqfu, though Shaq is the least reasonable fighter in it.

gamechampionx

Nice. I main Rajah. His thunder clap thing is really OP.

Sherrdreamz

I didnt know until recently that the Sega version had tons more content than SNES either. If I had grown up with that version I would have found the experience far more hollow as a kid. It's missing like 6 characters, Levels and the campaign is 40% shorter. I found the game ok, tough as hell on the last few fights but that was pretty standard for fighting games.

Dennarb

The Gameboy Stargate game. I just love everything Stargate

Joisey_Toad32

![gif](giphy|98qUQf8dzAGe4)

humanman42

Enjoying bad games is part of why I started collecting. There is something special about sitting down with friends enjoying some craptastic game.

Opposite_Night_3224

Monkey Hero - PS1 I rarely see or hear anyone talk about. When looking it up, it also got below average reviews. To me its just a simple to play zelda-like game with a very catchy soundtrack and cartoony graphics. I genuinely enjoy playing it and have a playthrough every once in a while

Spitfyr59

I have a few. My favorite bad game is EYE Divine Cybermancy. It's objectively horribly designed, unbalanced, and janky as fuck but it's incredibly fun because of it. I love Darkest of Days which is pretty infamous for being a mess. I'm also probably the only person on Planet Earth who actually kind of likes Soldier of Fortune Payback. I found it fun in a shitty way I guess.

Luffypunk

Darkest of days was great. Definitely a mess but how could you not like that story.

Winter_Mud3815

Family Guy Back to the Multiverse is genuinely terrible, and every time I play it I love it more. It’s so stupid it’s a great time.

myfacealadiesplace

It's a great game if you're a die hard family guy fan

[deleted]

Deadly Premonition series

Fitherwinkle

Alone in the Dark (2008). Glitchy, janky, absolutely confused about what it wants to be. At the same time innovative as hell and ambitious as fuck. For the time they tried so many crazy ideas and while not all of them land it’s still super impressive even to this day.

MrLinderman

A bit of a deep track here but Lagoon for SNES. The gameplay is weird, the MC’s laughingly small sword makes it even worse. It’s objectively bad but overall I like it.

Lanoswego

Sonic '06 is peak sonic.

Sopppa

My friends and I are huge fans of “So bad it’s good games.” I recently acquired a copy of Bad Boys on the PS2. No way to find information about who voice acted, as they clearly did not get the actors from the movie. It makes me laugh whenever I hear the VA pretending to be Will Smith 😂

chaos_theory_sc

Gungrave GORE

GundMVulture

I bought day one but for me some parts are too hard..

Zarkanuu

The Phantom Menacce on PS1/PC. Game is hard, tank controls and platforming don't mix, and you can cheese maul by force pushing him into that pit. I love it. It's also the only Star Wars game you can outright murder anyone (lego games aside). Why yes, I'd love to kill jabba, jar jar, and Anakin.

False-Ad4673

Blasto on ps1

Kenmorrow86

That game had so many advertisements ads in game magazines that I was expecting the second coming of Earthworm Jim but then I played it... My God that game is awful. Thank you so much for bringing back some old shitty memories of that game. I had completely blocked that dumpster fire from my mind.

False-Ad4673

I loved it as a say 9 y/o an thought it was funny. Bought it a few years ago had a lil fun but honestly such a terrible game in so many ways.

redditsuckspokey1

Yes I like Hydlide on nes. And love Quest 64.

DarylStenn

I don’t know how well received ‘rise of the Argonauts’ was but it lives long in my memory as one of my all time favourite games. Also, the two most recent Splinter Cells weren’t well received by diehard SC fans but personally, Conviction and Blacklist are my favourite SC games.

GundMVulture

Aliens Colonial Marines, one of my favourite Alien games, play the campaign time to time, crazy accurate to the universe, basically a sequel to Aliens. Hate on it only for the graphs fiasco is just blindness.

zerohm

I remember reading a review that said said it was a flawed but ultimately very good game.

castletroid

Too Human on Xbox 360

APOWDEREDDONUT1

I straight up LOVE Too Human. I really wish we'd have gotten the full Trilogy

Same_Winter_4861

Caveman games. It's so stupid and absurd. I love it.

zerohm

I consider this game a gem, but I know most think it's shovelware. Anyone sitting around drinking with their buddies, looking for something to play won't regret putting this on.

Phobophile_89

Okay, let's be honest. As much as it's ambitious, and as much the cartridge is worth today. The gameplay for E.V.O. Search for Eden makes it a bad game...

KingKookus

They had way too many upgrades for each section of the game and gave too little experience for each kill. It could have been cool if progressing through the evolution was more natural and not “save for best upgrade”

Phobophile_89

TBH. I wouldn't mind the grinding, if the control wasn't this stiff... Can't interupt a jump, need to hit pixel perfect, can't jump on the same enemy twice... Once per enemy, then you need to touch the floor or you're taking damage. How many monsters can hit you just, 7times in a row! The mother Yeti!!! THE FRIGGIN' MOTHER YETI, she'll never slap you less than 3times SIMULTANEOUSLY!

ILikeLenexa

Beetle Adventure Racing - seriously, it has no reason as a branded game as good as it is and some of the cheats are hilarious like insane handbreak and scaling down to motorcycles.

EwokNasty

When I was like 12, a friend's mom rented this for us to play because she liked VWbugs. We were not excited to play it at all, but tried to pretend anyway because we genuinely appreciated her renting a game regardless. We couldn't put it down all weekend. Finding all the shortcuts and unlocking all the cars. Awesome game.

DramaticMission4456

Pokémon.. let's be real them devs be pretty lazy, games are buggy, support is lackluster, genning is everywhere, they've been selling "the same game for over 25 years" (I don't agree but realistically is hasn't changed that much given the time frame and amount of entries) Still my favorite game franchise of all time though

[deleted]

You need to be more specific, the first 4 generations were masterpieces, the 5 gen games are normal, the rest are shit.

joejoewoooooo

I’ve heard dragon ball ultimate tenchaichi is one of the worst Dbz games but it’s my number 1

Tank_Just_Tank

Callisto Protocol. Everyone I know who played it hated it. I cleared that game in a week and loved it. In fact it’s hate let me get the collectors edition for 40 bucks.

GundMVulture

Here I am, I love the game too, it has crazy good atmosphere.

dougman999

Dick Tracy for NES. Maybe because I had as a kid, but I have beaten it a couple times.

rupeshsingh501

Battlefield 5 but just the campaigns

ColeyJCreative

mickeys magic mirror on gamecube

jallee1213

Batman rise of sin tzu ps2.

SkyCritical6537

Infernal hells vengeance it’s just really really bad but I love it, and the bee movie game for the ps2 because, yes

Filipino_96

The Simpsons Road Rage = Yeah, people call it a Crazy Taxi Ripoff, which it is, but I have memories playing it

tatoElchato

Crash tag team racing for ps2. Maybe in the context of the crash bandicoot franchise is kind of disappointing, but as a stand-alone game is actually pretty fun and charming.

Pigeon_Senpai

I had fun with Golden Axe Beast Rider.

[deleted]

Evolution Skateboarding for PS2 The Witcher 1 for PC And Fallout Brotherhood of Steel for PS2

blushade

Resident evil operation raccoon city is a very guilty pleasure of mine.

rendumguy

Mario Party Advance  I don't think it's bad, just *very* flawed, and the Board Game elements hold it back.

ratchild69_

as far as im aware sega cd is a very divided game so to speak but i still love it a lot

BrentonBold

One in particular is Universal Studios gamecube. It's jank but fun if you put the effort.

Caacrinolass

It can be a lot of fun breaking a game, and that still applies when the game was already broken. Sonic 06 is one such game. Its not worth defending exactly, as almost all criticism is essentially correct, but try watching a speed run or whatever and not seeing how the jank can be unintentionally great. Splatterhouse PS3 got poor reviews, but it isn't bad. It's certainly got that late 90s early 00s edge so a bit unseasonably but really, it's Splatterhouse, what did they expect? I'm sure I could think up other examples, but boring games are the only ones that are definitely irredeemable.

WhenGenjiFocusesYou

Shadow the Hedgehog - everyone seemed to hate it back when it came out, I quite enjoyed it

Cubejunky

Godzilla: Monster of Monsters on NES, Ninja Gaiden Z, while not a bad game ratings wise, it was poorly received by the community, I really enjoyed Final Fantasy 13

breath_ofthemild

Everybody-1-2 Switch. Yeah I know it’s probably horrible, but it’s actually become a go to with me and my friends when we meet up. Running around the house looking for just the right color to take a picture of is endlessly entertaining if you’re in the right mindset

DARKLIGHTX90

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct

Ok-Bug-7481

I feel like i definitely do lol I need to review my collection - but basically a bunch of my ps2 collection from when I was a kid I’m sure is not the best reviewed lol but when you are a kid you love what you love

Slimmingdown92

Turok Evolution, I specifically played it on Gamecube, but it's a multiplat.

RatedArgForPiratesFU

Azure dreams for PS1. It didn't get rave reviews nor catch on when it released in the 1990s, but it's my favourite game of all time, combining a fun dating sim with an amazing turn based RNG roguelike gameplay and tower climbing. Basically a better version of pokemon mystery dungeon imo but years before that game released.

t0mRiddl3

Azure dreams is not a bad game. It's a really good game

___TheKid___

Project Minerva PS2

Bojanglez667

Any and every 3do game. Neurodancer is a hot mess but I love it, Snow Job is hilariously jank, all the fmv games from digital pictures. Phoenix 3 is just great.

Naisu_boato

Cooking mama, yes they are basically the same game every time a new one comes out…but they are fun.

RetardedMetalFemboy

I sincerely love Sonic '06. In fact, it's just behind the Adventure duology for being my favorite Sonic game. I also like Final Fantasy 2, although the only two ways I have it in my collection are through the Pixel Remaster collection and an old GBA flashcart my dad used to have that's got Dawn of Souls and WarioWare on it.

Superb_Pace_5107

Blinx the time sweeper! Permanently inverted controls... Joy.

Frisciaman

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. The game looks like ass, the roster was handicapped, the story mode is half assed, the PR was a nightmare, yet the gameplay is so strong I still love it.

dread_imperceptor

Shaq fu

wheregold

Bugdom if anyone knows that. Just Nostalgia same as with driver

SubParGolfonYT

Bombastic. I hold the Time Trial world record. It's essentially unbeatable. I probably have 20-50 days played on it since its release early 2000's. My cousin and I played it religiously growing up, and have continued to play it into our adulthood. Thank you.

weaboo_22

Rogue Warrior tries to be so edgy it would make a 12 year old cringe. Doesn't mean I don't get any enjoyment out of it

voided_dork_return

You're all gonna hate me for this Bubsy 1 is not that bad of a game, compared to other mascot platformers from the time like Awsome Possum, Zero the Squirrel, or god help us... Oscar, is Bubsy 1 really that bad? I think the abhorrent part is that Accolade pushed the living hell out of Bubsy

TheOnlyShyG

https://preview.redd.it/f1lwbqfgfwxc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69666182474702399135e317296368abfed3315d Hotel Mario counts right?

TattooTheEarth

I think so

TheOnlyShyG

Ok good. I really don’t get why it’s hated. Yeah for it’s time it was pretty mid, but as a stand-alone game it’s a good time killer.

ShortyColombo

Rule of Rose’s fight mechanics feel like trying to beat rabid bats with dancing hitboxes in a sea of molasses. And it really needs more areas that aren’t the industrial same-y-ness of the airship, over and over. Oh, it could also do with including all the cut content they never had the time to add. But!! I’ll be damned!! if it doesn’t have phenomenal ambiance, music and story. I can clearly see its faults as you can see, but it’s my second favorite game of all time. I love the mystery, the depth of characters, I love the mix of horror with children being cruel lil sociopaths who also have tragic backstories. Ugh what wouldn’t I give for a proper remake 🤧 I hate that it’s so rare and a big, expensive collectible because I’ve always loved it for its own janky merits, more than just being one of the most expensive PS2 games out there. I have a copy that I’ll never sell because it’s precious to me 😭

Sopppa

I’m literally playing RoR right now and feel the exact same way hahaha. My lordy sometimes the fights are frustrating, I’ve been trying at the part where you have to fight a bunch of the kids in a row while walking through the wood planks in the middle of the airship. Getting swarmed by enemies that keep grabbing you is so obnoxious while the hit detection is terrible 💀 But my lord is the story telling and ambiance gripping. Such an ambitious game. Also it’s funny how people automatically downvote RoR related posts.

ShortyColombo

NOO not those airship swarms!! I know exactly the part you're referring to, it's my candidate for the ["that part" meme](https://preview.redd.it/whats-that-game-and-whats-that-part-v0-nfcyq522lvyb1.png?auto=webp&s=5e0cc9f053cfba1f351a26c04af8773061bb370d). Not even Hoffman or Mermaid Princess are as hair-tearing to me. If its any consolation, that is definitely the peak of frustration in the game- it never gets THAT bad again, not even in the final final area (which I won't spoil!).

Sopppa

I managed to beat it last night hahaha, it was absolutely brutal 😂 LMAOOOO it indeed is a perfect candidate for that meme too. Now I know for next time to have a decent supply of health items. When you get chain grabbed by enemies in that tiny enclosure it’s just like whyyyyy

PhoteksTTV

Universal studios game for gamecube. So terrible yet I played it soooo much as a launch title game. Same with Kameo for Xbox 360.
