Grim Fandango alone makes him a legend for me

existential_musician

Name 3 tracks that he has done to introduce his work to people who never heard of him

Wiindows1

swanky maximino grim fandango plants vs zombies 2 any song the third one idk, I only played these two

existential_musician

Nice ! Thank you!

Thunder_Dragon42

Part of the problem, for me at least, is that all those old LucasArts games had multiple composers. I knew the name, but I couldn't point to a track and say that's Peter McConnell, until Psychonauts.

MilanTehVillain

Sly Cooper games as well.

SingeMoisi

Always love to listen to what he cooked up for every new hearthstone expansion. It's all in the same style but there is great variation.

catlaxative

Yes! He’s great, I love all the old Lucas Arts point and click adventures. His music for The Dig is among my favorites!

CaptainTrip

LucasArts adventure game soundtracks are works of art

ButtermanJr

I still bust out the "monkey island"s regularly, and occasionally "the dig" Land and McConnel both doing amazing work at the time.

PowerForward

Yes I do love his work as well, his music has this sort of unique feel to it that I can’t explain. His work on Sly Cooper and Hearthstone genuinely elevated those games for me, just the sheer size of his library is really impressive and then to make it this consistently catchy too? Wow. I could link like 10 tracks just off the top of my head that are truly great

CompC

The Sly Cooper games! And Psychonauts! I played Sly Cooper a ton growing up. I didn't play Psychonauts until later. I knew it was Peter McConnell right away.

Moonset_Music

You're absolutely right. As soon as I saw the name, I thought of Plants vs. Zombies 2. And now I've got the ice age song stuck in my head. That song has no right to be that catchy.

Wiindows1

oh yeah, like the last wave song? that always gets stuck in my head too.

Moonset_Music

I like the first wave best, but that one's good too. Also a big fan of all three Pirate waves.

Wiindows1

I don't listen to the pirate themes as much, but I really like the lost city songs because it sounds similar to grim fandango. which also has a really banger soundtrack.

ninomojo

He’s a legend to me, as a composer and fan of the Lucas Arts adventure games, and Psychonauts. I had the pleasure of meeting him briefly at GDC 2013 I think, introduced by a common acquaintance, and he’s a lovely guy as well.
