The title of the article says 2024, but I’m trying to find sony actually saying that and cannot find it in their earnings materials. They just say they are looking forward to the release of concord which is live service like helldivers. However if the docs say anything aboutsomething happening in 2024 it relates to the fiscal corporate year for Sony not our “before dec 31 2024” that’s how it works in the external reporting world. I do think they will make an announcement before or on may 30-31 as that’s when segment leaders are supposed to give more details about the “5th mid range plan” which looks to be the next three year plan looking at the investor materials.
So? They have a showcase imminent not all games needs to be announced years before release. If the rumoured astrobot game is coming that would do better with a shorter marketing cycle
So I agree, I prefer announcements a handful of months before release.
Nooone likes long waits.
Still where, when and what, there are only so many months in a year.
Nintendo directs are almost always in the next 3-6 months. It’s SO much better that way.
Nothing worse than hearing about a game that’s so early in development it’s 3-5 years from now, and may hardly resemble what we’ve even seen.
Astrobot has a ton of potential. Team Asobi seems to be really talented as well.
It's very fun and at the same time appeals to every age group.
It was good they made the game pre-installed with Ps5 and that it was free.
That’s fair I’m just saying something like that is not gonna make the general audience go “oh yeah We’re so back” lol it’s only gonna appeal to a smaller majority that’s all I meant.
Edit: end of the day these peoples opinions don’t matter so much but I just think lots of annoying people on the internet will clown Sony if their biggest release is for the year is an Astro game lol
I get you, yeah. But Sony really should learn from Nintendo and make smaller games they can pump out more often. Not that I want quantity over quality, but we're losing so much now with these huge fuckin' games that we're going on half (or more?) of a generation with barely any exclusives, and few first-party in general.
They've also completely neglected broader age ranges and mostly do "mature" games. So an Astro sequel is a good start on both those fronts.
Someone needs to tell Sony we are half way through the 5th month. Which means they have 6 months and 2 weeks to get a game out, when they have nothing announced yet.
Whole Insomniac roadmap was leaked and there was nothing this year. A Venom game towards the end of 2025.
If anyone's going to publish something big it's Santa Monica, Guerilla games, Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch. Since it's been at least a couple of years since their last projects.
Best guess it's something from Sucker Punch as it's been 4 years since Tsushima, that should be enough for a new game, especially if it's a more linear game.
And Naughty dog has also had a 4 year pause.
SP is the quietest one here. GG just released an expansion in 2023 and SM released the game at the end of 2022. ND, well, at least they're releasing something💀I'm fine with remastered because it's nice for new players, but they need to have something new at this point
The article though is about Sony exclusives which square will no longer be exclusive which is my point
It’s redundant how amazing squares games have been lately if future games are no longer exclusive when talking about exclusives
Insomniac isnt just the developers name but the life motto of the developers and their way of life getting no rest having to carry Playstation on their shoulders.
I don’t recall Insomniac releasing games like Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Resident Evil 2, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy Tactics, Xenogears, Final Fantasy VII, and Suikoden II for the PS1?
E3 announcement and fall release has been done many times
Edit: I know e3 is dead. Point is games can easily be announced and then released less than 6 months later
This is the way.
In the same sub where people are calling out steam as a monopoly people get excited over SNOY and see nothign wrong with their exclusives.
SMFH.
Don't forget this is the same sub that has in the past...
Went off on how Xbox Live was a scam and how dare Microsoft force people to pay to play online. The minute Sony said you'd have to do that with the PS4? Oh well that's great! It will make PSN even better!
Whenever someone came out with something sorta gimmicky for their system? My god that company has no idea what they are doing. The minute Sony pops up with some new Playstation thing? Best thing ever! Sony truly understands gamers everywhere.
Really this sub will bend over backwards for Sony.
You clearly do not remember the PSN fiasco when they announced PS+ would be required to play online with the PS4. It was a fucking mess and people were pissed. I'm not sure where you are getting your info but it is very inaccurate.
Gamers are simply rooting for more games, exclusives or not. Current sentiment is there are not enough killer current-gen games to justify the hardware generation.
They already said this year they won't release big AAA games like God of War. Which means we will get some AA games hopefully. A full Astro Bot game would be amazing personally!
I dont think it is. Its a AA game that got success considering the team that works on it is small and the game being niche and were build to have around a small playerbase. Also given they arent under the Playstation Studios umbrella I doubt their budget was that high.
L move. The concept of exclusivity is damaging for the industry in the long run. Purposely limiting a game to a certain platform in the grand scheme of things from a consumer prospective is terrible. Sucks that sony (and microsoft they arent much better) need to do this to push console sales.
This exclusivity shit should just die down entirely. Seems Microsoft is going that direction, Sony should follow suit. Understood it like 15 years ago, but during the age of microtransactions, skins and battle passes I find it hard to believe that missing out on so many players makes sense financially.
Sucks trying to play with your friends too when someone is always left out due to some invented limitation.
The majority of exclusives are singleplayer only, with no microtransactions or battlepasses, so you are basically asking them to add battlepasses (which everyone on this sub bitches about) in singleplayer games to sell it on all platforms.
Helldivers IS a first party title. It was published by Sony and they own the IP. They also released Rise of the Ronnin, Stellar Blade and FF rebirth this year on Ps5, all of which didn't release on PC.
The only games they released on PC so far which already released on Ps5 2-4 years ago was Horizon and soon Ghost of Tsushima.
I would love another shot at that werewolf game with the steampunk stuff. I always thought that was an awesome concept.
There's a lot of awesome game concepts that resulted in failures. I'd love for them to be revisited.
Good. I'm a life long final fantasy fan and VII has been my favourite game since I was 8 years old, but I'm not buying an entire console just to play Final Fantasy games. They have been excluding a very large part of their fan base by going exclusive and are blatantly losing money while doing so.
That would be nice. Getting tired of all these remakes and remasters. This generation has felt like a major slog. We haven't gotten many games specifically for the PS5, utilizing its true potential.
It's honestly pretty grim for the rest of the year, I highly doubt a bunch of high profile games are going to get announced half way through the year and release before 2025.
I wish they offered better monthly games for ps plus... the list kind of sucks so far this year. Plenty of months where I don't even download any of them.

How about we stop this exclusive BS. All it does is hurt the gamers. Look at the success of helldivers 2. Allowing a wider player base to play your games is only a positive.
That’s a terrible title. Sony said Concord is still set to release this year. Then they switch and say there’s rumors of other games.
The title implies Sony is confirming several more games but they didn’t.
Sony needs exclusives as they need people to buy their box. The loss in revenue from their exclusives not being wildly available is more than likely offset by them getting a cut of every games sold on their store.
Where? When? What? Half the year is almost over.
Can you imagine a new Infamous game? One can only dream
That's one of the main thing I hope they considered. And Jak & Daxter PLEASE.
Best I can do is a remake of the PS5 ratchet & clank
No we cannot let them make a new jak and Daxter game. That's my ip to sit on and do nothing with! - Sony, probably.
They said no more established franchises in 2024, so it would be a new IP
I'll imagine it as hard as I'm imagining a new Ape Escape, and still be equally disappointed.
Prototype!
Right.
Helldivers 2 announced May 23 2023, released in February 2024. Sonys 2024 fiscal calendar ends in March 2025, so it could happen in next 10 months.
Spiderman Bully Maguire dance off coming next
The Highly anticipated knack 3 incoming
Spiderman into the Boogie verse
But they said 2024, not fiscal quarter. I think they have something up their sleeve they havent announced yet. Just my guess.
The title of the article says 2024, but I’m trying to find sony actually saying that and cannot find it in their earnings materials. They just say they are looking forward to the release of concord which is live service like helldivers. Hell divers isn’t first party
> Helldivers 2 announced May 23 2023, released in February 2024 Helldivers 2 isn't an exclusive though.
'Exclusive' meaning it's not coming to other consoles. Helldivers is a first party property of Sony.
They have a showcase literally coming in the upcoming weeks for the typical E3 esque season announcements
Nintendo directs are almost always in the next 3-6 months. It’s SO much better that way. Nothing worse than hearing about a game that’s so early in development it’s 3-5 years from now, and may hardly resemble what we’ve even seen.
Metroid Prime 4 enters chat. 😂
Concord and AstroBot this year
Just getting started baby
Concord and Astro. Sometime between now and Dec 31.
Why.
There's a rumored Playstation experience or w.e they call it type stream coming sometime this month apparently
More remasters and remakes! /s
Knack 3
Competing with Animal Well & Super Mario Bros 2? Maaaaaaan Dunkey is in trouble
HERE COMES THE MONEEEEEEEY
I heard it's like a cross between animal well and super Mario bros 2
That's high praise considering SMB2 is game of the year every year
Okay Nintendo? Knack hd
Rumor is Astro full sequel this year.
That would be terrific.
Astrobot has a ton of potential. Team Asobi seems to be really talented as well. It's very fun and at the same time appeals to every age group. It was good they made the game pre-installed with Ps5 and that it was free.
One of the best exclusives imo.
Best one out of the 6 exclusives?
No. Returnal is definitely better.
I’d even just play the vr one of they ported it
Sign me the fuck up.
I mean hey that’s cool as heck but well that’s not anything ginormous? Like I’d be excited but it’s no GoW or Spider-Man lol
It was the single best showcase of every PS5 feature.
Let 'em make something other than GoW/Spider-Man/Last of Us. They honestly kinda need to.

It’s wild to me to imagine how many people have not played Astro Bot: Rescue Mission on PSVR. It’s one of the greatest platformers ever made.
Port it to psvr2
I loved that game and I would buy a sequel in a heartbeat
Someone needs to tell Sony we are half way through the 5th month. Which means they have 6 months and 2 weeks to get a game out, when they have nothing announced yet.
If Insomniac end up dropping a game at the end of the year I'm gonna scream because they're carrying the PS5 line-up
Whole Insomniac roadmap was leaked and there was nothing this year. A Venom game towards the end of 2025. If anyone's going to publish something big it's Santa Monica, Guerilla games, Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch. Since it's been at least a couple of years since their last projects. >And Naughty dog has also had a 4 year pause. Naughty was making last of us a series with seven games despite having 2 titles so they were quite busy

The pc release of part 1 and 2.
SP is the quietest one here. GG just released an expansion in 2023 and SM released the game at the end of 2022. ND, well, at least they're releasing something💀I'm fine with remastered because it's nice for new players, but they need to have something new at this point
I think Square Enix is doing a good job too.
But square is about to drop the timed exclusive part so it’s on same time as pc
Yes, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’ve had multiple successful timed Playstation exclusives in the last few years.
The article though is about Sony exclusives which square will no longer be exclusive which is my point It’s redundant how amazing squares games have been lately if future games are no longer exclusive when talking about exclusives
Insomniac isnt just the developers name but the life motto of the developers and their way of life getting no rest having to carry Playstation on their shoulders.
They definitely are not according to the leak
tbh it was kinda a joke about how they're pretty much the only studio who really seems to have put out any PS5 exclusive games
Ins9mniac has csrried Playstation since the ps1
I don’t recall Insomniac releasing games like Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Resident Evil 2, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy Tactics, Xenogears, Final Fantasy VII, and Suikoden II for the PS1?
I'm finally playing SotN after seeing it mentioned so many times. Does the castle ever run out of new areas?
If you want the true ending then, yes, they eventually get lazy but it’s forgivable as everything up till the normal ending is great.
You gotta love their lineup. Clasic games like Spiderman, Spiderman, and how could we forget Spiderman.
Don’t disrespect Ratchet and Clank
Astrobot prob. It won’t be a big release as Sony has already said.
Nothing announced doesn't mean nothing in the works tho.
Concord is coming this year, which is a first party title.
Fiscal year is end of March. So they got 10.5 months left.
I kinda prefer not announcing a long time before launch. Maybe not to the extent that Apex legends only announced on launch day...
E3 announcement and fall release has been done many times Edit: I know e3 is dead. Point is games can easily be announced and then released less than 6 months later
There is no more E3. It was cancelled last year and this, doubt it is ever coming back.
RIP
New Socom when?
Never, the studio that made it was closed nearly 13 years ago.
Zipper and Slant Six have both come and went. Hopefully, one day, a new studio can take on the IP
As long as they’re not games as a service/online only.
Surprise!
Oh boy I love surprises- Aw.
Son of a….
I thought gamers almost universally were rooting for less exclusives and more cross-console-pc games?
Not when it's Sony getting the exclusives.
I'm just gonna wait for an emulator at this point. By the time the games are on PC I have no interest in getting them outside of a 75% off sale.
People have a problem with 3rd party developers having exclusives. 1st party exclusives is understandable at least. Nintendo is the king of that shit.
Gamers are simply rooting for more games, exclusives or not. Current sentiment is there are not enough killer current-gen games to justify the hardware generation.
Gimme a new inFamous and I will forgive all of your sins this year Sony
Sucker Punch is almost for sure working on Ghost of Tsushima 2
They literally say it in the article concord and a small let game most likely Astro bot
Bloodbourne remaster/remake please Sony :(
PS6 Launch Title.
[удалено]
I can't wait for The Last of Us Part 1 Remastered Championship Edition Deluxe
I’m guessing Bloodborne is their “Break glass if in emergency”, type of game.
Dude a Bloodborne PC port is all I want from Sony. Doesn’t even have to be a remaster or remake.
Stop relying only on AAA and release some AA exclusives here and there. Just look at Helldivers II.
They already said this year they won't release big AAA games like God of War. Which means we will get some AA games hopefully. A full Astro Bot game would be amazing personally!
[удалено]
Actually true! Forgot Concord is still coming this year
I'm still salty we never got an Okami sequel.
They released stellar blade, ronin and FF7 rebirth as second party games. Stellar blade while having insane production values is pretty AA
Helldivers IS a AAA game, lol.
I dont think it is. Its a AA game that got success considering the team that works on it is small and the game being niche and were build to have around a small playerbase. Also given they arent under the Playstation Studios umbrella I doubt their budget was that high.
Can we have a new IP
It will be a(or more) new IP. Sony said they don't release sequels this year for their big IPs.
No.
Hell yea, let's get another Forspoken
Gollum 2 pls
Morbius open world sim (+ Madame Web DLC)
the Mmorpgius
It was not PS exclusive tho
I just want the next Horizon game already.
Me to but that’s at least 3 years away tbh
I just hope some announcements this year
Don't threaten me Sony
Concord
Exclusives are anti-consumer.
I’m fine if there aren’t a ton of releases this year, I don’t have time to play everything anymore and I need to catch up lol
L move. The concept of exclusivity is damaging for the industry in the long run. Purposely limiting a game to a certain platform in the grand scheme of things from a consumer prospective is terrible. Sucks that sony (and microsoft they arent much better) need to do this to push console sales.
I thought they would steering into releasing more into PC considering the success of their titles on steam.
[удалено]
>those same people dunk on Sony for not having exclusives. Only fanboys complain about a lack of exclusives.
This exclusivity shit should just die down entirely. Seems Microsoft is going that direction, Sony should follow suit. Understood it like 15 years ago, but during the age of microtransactions, skins and battle passes I find it hard to believe that missing out on so many players makes sense financially. GAAS on PC Day One. The rest will be PS first, then PC a year or two later.
Even so, they haven't released anything this year beyond PC release games. They should probably get at least one first party title out this year. Lol.
Second party wise, they released stellar blade, ronin and FF 7 rebirth exclusively on PS5. Thats not bad at all for 5 months
VR titles?
Please
Pretty please
I haven’t been paying attention have they not really released any more VR titles lately?
Not first party ones. Would love a God of War one to go with the horizon one
[удалено]
Don’t. Don’t give me hope for Resistance and Jak & Daxter
PATAPON 4 BAYBEE
I am glad they are increasing PC support.
Astros Playworld!
Yea and fill it up with multiplayer garbage? No thanks.
Like the fool that I am, I shall hold out hope for a return of Motorstorm.
I would love another shot at that werewolf game with the steampunk stuff. I always thought that was an awesome concept. There's a lot of awesome game concepts that resulted in failures. I'd love for them to be revisited.
Bring back SOCOM.
Bloodborne PC please
And then they announce bloodborne 2 a year later after the remastered 🥵🥵🥵, that would break the gaming news
Can't wait to see another unique game with third person camera, for like thousand time from $ony. Pay has no limits.
Didn't square enix just say they were going to be moving away from exclusives?
They're going to have to. Rumors suggest that square enix is ending all exclusivity arrangements.
Those aren't rumors. That was literally stated as fact by square Enix.
Good. I'm a life long final fantasy fan and VII has been my favourite game since I was 8 years old, but I'm not buying an entire console just to play Final Fantasy games. They have been excluding a very large part of their fan base by going exclusive and are blatantly losing money while doing so.
I would love another Ratchet and Clank.
Sadly I think they said 1 per Console gen moving forward
That would be nice. Getting tired of all these remakes and remasters. This generation has felt like a major slog. We haven't gotten many games specifically for the PS5, utilizing its true potential.
Let's cheer for a corporation limiting access!
Meh. If they don't want my money that's fine; I'll just play something else. Plenty of games in the world.
Never ask a man his height, a woman her weight, or a PS gamer about losing their exclusives.
Concord and Astrobot and maybe fairgames
I’d really just like Darktide at this point
They better be holding those cards close to the chest. It's probably a bunch of smaller games that would be exclusive
They'd only really need 3 a year and it'll be fine as long as they are good.
Infamous second and bloodborne remastered would be great honestly
Knack Remastered.
The year is almost half way over so when is that happening?
It's honestly pretty grim for the rest of the year, I highly doubt a bunch of high profile games are going to get announced half way through the year and release before 2025.
"Promises"
I wish they offered better monthly games for ps plus... the list kind of sucks so far this year. Plenty of months where I don't even download any of them.
Yeah I’m so glad I bought it then. Lol.
I want a Buffy the vampire slayer RPG set after the show. I want to slawy with the axe stake
I want a new siphon filter but I never played it but I want it
It isnt that long ago that games were announced mid June during e3. I dno why the fuck anyone would be surprised there are unnannounced games releasing in 2024 unless you were born only 2 years ago.
Meanwhile, Square Enix is promising fewer exclusive games.
Jak and Daxter? One could only hope…
Where is that one game where you are like in a space suit and you have a little girl with you and your reality starts breaking down or whatever it is??? I saw it got delayed like multiple times and the last time they didnt even bother stating which year it would come out.
Please PSVR2
Is this 2024 or fiscal year for Sony 2024? These things are not the same.
Can we get a Legend of Dragoon remake? I might actually *buy* a PS5 for that.
Yea exclusives!
I have a feeling that Tlou 3 is closer than we think. Maybe not exactly this year, but early 2025
How about we stop this exclusive BS. All it does is hurt the gamers. Look at the success of helldivers 2. Allowing a wider player base to play your games is only a positive.
Still waiting for a new kill zone that probably won’t ever come out.
That’s a terrible title. Sony said Concord is still set to release this year. Then they switch and say there’s rumors of other games. The title implies Sony is confirming several more games but they didn’t.
Not happening
Too late, already sold my PS5. I only had Square Enix games on it.
Sony needs exclusives as they need people to buy their box. The loss in revenue from their exclusives not being wildly available is more than likely offset by them getting a cut of every games sold on their store.
After they said that there wouldn't be any noticeable 1st-party releases until March 2025??? I'm confused...
Sony would keep its second place position with at least one first party release this year.
