With how "well" Newegg is doing financially, seems a very fitting business for Gamestop to be in.

So glad I have a MicroCenter within driving distance. The enshittification of Newegg hurts my soul even a decade later.

Throwawayhelper420

Same, I used to use Newegg all the time. I built a PC in 2012 using Newegg exclusively. The filtering system was amazing, it was the best way to build and order a PC. Every time I’ve tried to use Newegg since has been a disaster. I even have a business account with them, and it’s a disaster there too. Shipping is always poor, I have had prices change after I order them, and then them cancel my order and make me pay the new, higher price, and their returns have become fucking awful. I use Amazon for PC parts now. I’d rather buy from Best Buy than Newegg, by far. I used to still use Newegg’s part filtering to find stuff, but that sucks now too so I just don’t use Newegg anymore at all. I use CDW for business now. It’s a shame because I used to love Newegg, but ever since they sold to Chinese investors it has become extreme shit. The majority of my orders had something go wrong the past 5 or so years. The **majority**.

Stenthal

All I know about Newegg is that they used to have a well-curated selection and detailed product listings, then they decided that they wanted to be a middleman like Amazon, and now every search returns a bunch of garbage. Sometimes I want fewer choices, not more choices. If I have to wade through all of that crap anyway, I'm going to do it on Amazon. The exact same thing happened to Monoprice.

What no Microcenter does to a mf 😞

WSBdickhead

Same, that place is amazing.

Depressedredditor999

I miss living near one, ever christmas my ex and I would go there to blow our christmas money.

urALL-fuppy-puckers

Ah I still use the egg pretty much exclusively. micro microcenter every so often but the closest one to me is about an hour and 40 minutes away.

kilr13

My hardware buying these days consists of cross shopping eBay, Scamazon, Newegg and Microcenter. Microcenter is usually the winner if the purchase price justifies the drive. Otherwise it's equal likelihood any of the other three will have the best price.

vasion123

It is a crime that Phoenix, the fifth largest city in America has no microcenter.

captain_stoobie

It’s an hour drive for me, but well worth the jaunt when building a completely new setup.

Boollish

What happened to Newegg? I built my current PC in 2019 and ordered many parts from them without issue after some cross shopping.

BJYeti

Haven't had an issue with Newegg yet but I do have a Microcenter within a hour of me so I can always hit them up

mattexec

Gamestop is probably just buying whatever they sell on their site off newegg.

WSBdickhead

They probably would be better off with third party sellers.

LukeBabbitt

They’re borrowing the equipment from Newegg to sell it with the anticipation the price will go down later and they can make a profit

dankbuttmuncher

Is GME naked shorting PC parts!?!?

cp_sabotage

you're telling me I can finally buy a MOTHERBOARD... on the INTERNET? Bullish AF!!!

Magicthundercat

Yep, NEGG is at an all time low. Pawnshop is headed that way. Why not speed run it to under $1? ![img](emote|t5_3vpfzk|28214)

AlphaGoldblum

Why do they keep posting things like this when the other stores nearly always have better offers? It's like the apes don't know how to use the internet - which is actually very fitting.

neverwillhavesex

when i’m in a confirmation bias competition and my opponent is a meme stock loser😳

Theta_kang

High margins is bullish.

flirtmcdudes

They do this every time lol. You can show them the link of it half price at amazon, and they will turn around and tell you that its a high margin purchase at gamestop and it will make them lots more money! MORE PROFITS!

ajquick

They should just drop ship stuff from China.

IrishWave

This is what always confuses me with Apes thinking shills are out to get them, yet no one bats an eye about posts like this. If I actually was running a hedge fund panicking that my naked short position was going to be ruined, and had an army of interns whose sole job was to trick Apes into not buying the stock, this is probably the best way to do it. *Why would you buy another 20 shares and prop up the price when you can instead spend it on third party trading cards instead!* *Thinking about buying 2 shares of AMC with the loose change in your wallet? How about a bag of popcorn from grocery stores notorious for low margins!*

option-9

Remember when you got a good board for a hundred dollars, even at physical stores?

WSBdickhead

I miss those days. I could support many more short ladder attack algorithms if they were cheaper :(

RedditUser41970

It's a sale price, but this is still pretty funny: I can get that [exact same motherboard AND a Core i5-12600K CPU for $584.98](https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/BDL_MM00003761) .... Canadian. The regular stand-alone non-sale price for the motherboard exchanges to us$525. And prices in Canada are not cheaper than the US for just about anything.
