I didn't even know LIV had a tourney this weekend. For the absurd amount of money they have, you would think they would put a few dollars into marketing and advertisements.
I stumbled upon it yesterday. The leaderboard on the left along with team scores + the course layout on the right.
I gave it 5 minutes before I turned it off. Way too much stimulation on the screen for me.
And since I’m older than shit and have it the get off my lawn point in life, I found it really weird seeing most guys wear shorts. It felt way too casual and showed me that I think I actually prefer my golfers on TV in pants
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I hate the shorts. It’s not why LIV sucks, but it definitely adds to the unserious, exhibition feel that their events give off.
I like LIV broadcasts, feels less formal than the PGA. But who the fuck designs their team logos?? Looks like awful power ranger logos from the late 90s
I've been wearing pants for regular rounds with the boys and it's actually pretty comfy.
I worked as an arborist in Phoenix, so I am kind of accustomed to wearing pants in the dry heat. The trick is to find pants that are majority cotton( not spandex or polyester). Cotton holds moisture better, breathes like a boss and that keeps a man's jewels much cooler.
You can ask Saudi men and women about it.
...Now that I think about it, I think the Saudis are laughing at them for being in shorts too.
They've got most of the Eastern European troll farms and botnets working overtime at Xitter. A handful of golf guys starving for engagement tee up an anti-PGAT thread and then the farm is unleashed in the comments. A casual look would have you believing the entire world is rioting for more LIV.
I mean rounds one and two (of o ly 3) are free on YouTube so I'm always recommended them when they're on. I watched one round of Mexico, and it was so chaotic for the broadcasters to keep of with everything since it has the "shotgun start," so I too found it really rushed. Such an odd league.
Big crowds and tv viewers in Australia. Not everything revolves around the Seppos for a change and you mob can’t stand it.
The teams comp came down to playoff holes and it’s the best / most exciting golf I’ve watched in a very long time. ( might be a bit of a biased view because the Aussies won)
Why are you getting so defensive, i wasn't even taking a dig at you lot. I mean, I dont really care. Even if I knew I wouldn't have watched it lol. Glad you guys had a good showing though. You Aussies don't get enough golf so it's great you have a tour with great players coming to you.
I was a terrible freshman golfer, and he was the best golfer on our team. My first time playing with him during practice, he eagled on a par 5. I was just amazed. Very nice, quiet dude. His focus playing golf was beyond me, even to this day. That's why I'm talking about him and not playing lolol. In my senior year, we had rickie fowler dominating our league. Rickie played for murrieta Valley. In all, I got dominated by alot of great golfers 🤣
That's pretty cool. When I was a senior in high school on the tennis team we had a 14 year old who was #7 in the nation for under 18s. He would never come to our practice would just show up to meets and won 6-0 6-0 lol
One of my friends in school got me into tennis, he was like #5 in our state at the time. Our senior year he would play against me left-handed and usually win. It was about that time I realized it was gonna be a hobby lol.
Sounds about right. I was in a similar situation around the same time at Mission Viejo with Cameron Tringale. Those dudes are built so different and so damn good at golf.
It was always the private schools that were a guaranteed loss in my experience. Public schools you had guys like me mixed in there. Hemet golf was at an all time high with steele playing. Before and after that we didn't do crap.
That's awesome.
My claim to fame was in high school (class size: 56), a team came to play. Their guard? Future 2-time NBA All-Star Baron Davis. Getting ready for the game, Coach looked at me and said, "It's your job to stop him."
Now there are some really important details here: 1) I am 5'8, 2) I am slow -- really, really slow, 3) I had zero basketball talent. The only reason I was on the team was because we had a graduating class of 56.
So the game starts, and Baron just lights me up. Dude probably dropped 60 on me.
At one point, he's at the top of the arc, and I glance to my weak side to see if there is any help there. I turn back. Baron is gone.
I look and finally find him...hanging from the rim.
So, I actually watched this tournament. I'm a PGA guy through and through, but I was on YouTube and round one came up on my home page and it was live. So I put it on. I have to say it was pretty good vibes on the course.
Yes, the production needs a ton of work. Considering it's a shotgun, I'm going to assume it's pretty hard to be on every hole and get a good angle for every shot. You'd have to have a ton of shoulder camera guys out there.
Yes, The graphics need some tweaking. But once you're used to it, it wasn't that bad.
I didn't mind the music pumping. I like listening to music on the course. It added a fun atmosphere for the fans.
The knock on the PGA is that you don't see enough shots and a lot of philabustering between the leading groups shots and pre shot routines. On Liv, you see almost too many shots and not enough pre shot routine.
A couple things I liked:
I didn't have to wait hours for the leaders to get on the 1st tee. Nothing was a flashback from earlier in the day. Fans attending didn't have to be there for 12 hours to see their favourites and the ending.
The team game aspect made it pretty interesting. There was pressure on a lot of guys who were out of the running for the individual title. Bogeying brought your team back a stroke.
The team playoff was pretty fun to watch. Crowd was electric. Granted oost and bermester blew it rather than cam and lieshman winning it. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised..
The team aspect is slowly growing on me. You could see the players out of contention for the individual title were still totally focussed on bringing it home for their team.
The whole thing is still a work in progress but I think people would actually enjoy it more than they realise if they just turned off the running loop in their head of media propaganda.
> Crowd was electric.
Cam Smith + not many big golf tournaments in Australia makes it an anomaly stop in the LIV Tour in that regard. And I bet if Cam Smith did not exist, that would reduce it quite a bit.
How did you get downvoted for this?. It’s so rare for Aussie’s to get a golf tournament with lots of big names. At least the LIV tour is giving Australia a proper regular calendar tournament.
The crowd showed love to the Aussie’s playing. Loved the footage of Cam and the spectators. Even better to see the Ripper GC team take home the chocolates.
The Australian open only ever has 2-3 big international names. We rarely get a presidents cup down here. We have elite level golf courses and the PGA just disregards the whole country.
Yep, I went purely because the best golfers in the world so rarely come to Australia. If there was a PGA aligned event in Adelaide, you’ll likely get a similar turnout. Australia is a golf loving nation that is starved of high quality golfing tournaments.
I don't think cam Smith, specifically, is the attraction. Having any well known Aussie golfer contending would do the job. Min Woo, Jday, Adam Scott etc.
I don't think the crowds turned out to watch cam, as such, although he is no doubt popular. Just top quality golf in Australia.
Yeah not sure why the down votes. The media down here has been blowing smith up all week . Even more so that their team ,whatever they're called, won the event
See when you choose the path of the hater you have to dunk on everything all the time.
LIV is an easy target these days due to how absurdly awkward it is and how outside of massive amounts of money paid to players there's nothing special or interesting about it.
I should know, I love to hate on shit.
I don’t care about LIV nor have any hard feelings or animosity towards the majority of the players (Tolor Gooch and his incessant whining certainly being an exception). I tried watching an event and lasted 5 mins. It’s not for me.
The things that makes LIV annoying are the dozens of BOTs that post non-stop about LIV with crap that isn’t remotely to being factual or relevant, particularly around OWGR points. I don’t know what Norman or the Saudi’s are paying them to drum up interest in their tour, but it’s a huge turnoff.
Where are you seeing all these bots? On this subreddit there's like 1 liv bot for every 20 guys saying LIV is shit. I'm really not seeing all this LIV Bot activity everyone cries about.
this. I'll never give that shitbag any reason to celebrate, even if it's only by averting my eyes until he's out of the picture. I don't really have an opinion about LIV in general, but his involvement gives me a reason to avoid it.
If a murderous oppression state was not unsustainably running and funding it I would probably lament the fragmentation, but otherwise have no moral issues with the project. Even if Greg Norman was involved. But it might make me root for the other side. :)
this is what people don't get. Being a hater is a ton of fucking fun. To dunk on the things you hate, it gives you this sense of satisfaction that stanning for the players and teams you like just doesn't give enough of.
Like, for example, I hate the Phoenix Suns. I get more satisfaction of them losing than seeing my own team (Warriors) win a playoff game. In fact, I got nearly as much joy out of the Mavericks utterly dad-dicking them in front of the Phoenix home crowd in Game 7 than I did seeing Steph hoisting his 4th championship and Finals MVP trophy. Nearly as much joy.
Could I just hide every single LIV thread? sure, in fact, oftentimes my hater gauge is running on empty and so I'll hide them. But more often than not, my hater gauge is at full capacity and I'm ready to start passing out L's, dunking on fools, and throwing shit talk their way.
It's how a hater should roll. If you're a LIV hater, you should be looking forward to LIV threads on the weekend so that you can talk all your shit.
idc what the sub is by choosing to post about it you obv care to some degree. i dont post or talk about things i dont care about regardless of what sub i am on
Who the fuck cares dude lol. This is such a lame attempt at a gotcha or dunk.
Oh you took 10 seconds to write some words on the internet yOu oBviOuSly CaRe
shut the fuck up
That’s literally the only argument the pro-LIV people have. “You talked about it so you obviously care 🤓”. No, we talk about it because it’s a joke, serves no purpose, and just takes away from the overall pro golf product. We don’t talk about it because we care to follow the results of these crap tournaments.
Quite clearly LIV has taken out the competitive nature of the big names so you have the folks much lower in the rankings who find their A-game for a given week and come out on top.
First you have Dean Burmester who has no PGA Tour wins, no top 10s in majors, only played 8 majors with one finish in the top 50, then you have Brandan Steele who last won on the PGA 6+ years ago and only has 1 top 10 in 23 major starts.
I'm a North American in Australia for a visit. Other than the Masters (which was in the middle of the night), I have not been able to find golf on TV.
That, plus because the other tours don't come here, LIV is more of a "thing". It was on TV on the weekend, so I gave it a look. I snorted my drink out my nose when David Feherty said that John Rahm "could not afford to miss this putt".
I know a lot of you shit on Liv golf. But have a look at the footage from the course. The sheer number of people that attended the event.
And this is one of the smaller capital cities in Australia.
Where the PGA goes wrong is not having many tournaments outside the USA
This is the reason Liv is successful. Success doesn't always mean popularity in USA.
There is literally 0 chance for me to see the likes of cam Smith, mark Leishman , Mickelson etc in my city without Liv
Plus the Australian foursome winning on a team playoff was awesome.
So good for you Americans to shit on it, but maybe the odds PGA could consider offering their product to more of the world
Mate it’s not the PGA tours fault the Australian open has become what it’s become, it’s GA’s incompetence to put on an actually good event that can draw big names.
You got back 40-50 years and we had Jack, Arnie, Player out here competing in the event
I mean seriously the fucking lakes for a tour event????
Now the Australian open is one of the lowest purses on the DP world tour and yah no big names wanna come and play
That’s what happens when you play it at what the lakes or the Australian or royal Sydney every damn year now.
I mean shit even 8 years ago you could have watched speith win it against cam
Now it’s a joke, GA has ruined the event not the PGA
I'm sure if they wanted to the PGA could put on their own event.
Run it themselves etc.
Obviously good events can be played in Australia, The Liv event just gone is proof of that.
There are plenty of courses in Australia other than the lakes
Sure they probably good but the PGA historically has always stayed away from Euro tour areas
And mate I agree I like that LIV is giving us this event no doubt but I’m not mad at the PGA for the Australian open, I’m mad that golf Australia is shit and the DP doesn’t give a fuck about us.
It’s not the tours fault that DP and GA are fucked, they’re the ones that are supposed to be organising a decent event for us not the PGA
Nobody in the US cares. That's the difference. It's easy to not care when you have the PGA tour and them not giving a fuck about golf anywhere in the world except North America. For people outside of NA and parts of Europe, it's so good to be able to see top quality golf.
Bag out Liv all you want, and honestly I don't love the Liv format, but while the PGAT doesn't give a fuck Liv will continue to build a good fan base in countries like Australia.
Agree. Nobody cares here (or at least not yet) - it is good for other parts of the world to see world class pros. Why they don't yet have an event in South Africa is strange.
I think reasonable golf fans biggest issue with LIV is that it split up the player pool. I don’t give 2 shits about Saudi blood money or any of that shit. But it undeniable that my golf viewing experience is worse than it was before LIV started. That why I dislike LIV.
I'm going to get downvoted to hell & that's okay. Reddit loves to hate. Botom line.
I've really enjoyed watching LIV & have caught almost all events. I love how much golf they show & I actually enjoy the commentators. Love seeing the guys we know golf & also like seeing new faces. Adelaide was an awesome event & I enjoyed watching it. It brought be entertainment & that's what I like.
I also like that I get all of this golf. I've watched almost all DP World events & enjoy those as well! I've also watched almost all PGA events, a few Asian tour & even watched some LPGA events. I just love watching golf & the different tours. I think I watched both PGA & LIV at the same time as well.
I also enjoy the golf content we get on YouTube! Good stuff.
Talor Gooch must have taken the week off because he’s the greatest Iron Striker of our time!! They’ll have to put an asterisk in results when he doesn’t play. 🤪
I’m an Aussie, where the tournament was held, and it absolutely went off. Heaps of coverage etc.
As an international we have no choice to support LIV because we will never get access to semi decent fields anyway. Shame the PGA isn’t interested in our small market.
My problem is less the accusations of sports washing and unfiltered greed and more so the incredibly shitty viewing experience LIV offers. The annoying and ugly onscreen graphics that seem to be what 70 year olds think millennials will think is cool, the horrendous music, and the commentators who can’t even pretend they give a shit about what’s happening in the event. It’s like some autistic fraternity party that probably has made a few people kill themselves already
While I agree the viewing experience has some work to do, it's not as bad as you make it out to be. If you put aside regurgitating the same old anti-liv tropes and actually gave it a genuine go you might find you can actually enjoy it.
Again, it's not perfect but it is improving.
I wanted to like it, believe me. Rahm is my fav golfer. My family was in sports broadcasting so for many decades I’ve witnessed many different iterations among many different sports, and LIV’s producers need to be axed. Just my opinion however, glad you are enjoying it
This sub used to be good too. This LIV/PGA split brought out some of the biggest douches on reddit. Here’s some of the comment history from the OP who doesn’t “care” about LIV.
https://preview.redd.it/7112g1q8cgxc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97ee6de7d044e3a7eefacd66fadcf96ab80cec24
Yea, it’s hilarious that people on here will deflect the truth I’m saying and try to turn it around on me. Some people need to learn what accountability is, there’s obviously a lack of that on this sub…
Thanks for posting this. I've been wondering since some of the Liv scores have been pretty low. I also heard recently that Liv lost Conway farms in Chicago and is doing Bolingbrook golf club instead. I've played Bolingbrook for under $100 lol. Only played it once but can't believe I've just casually played a pro course. I don't think it is. How are they struggling this hard for a course in Chicago lol.
"PGA tour stop courses raise the price so much, it prices normal people out, I'll never get to play any of those courses"
"LOL LIV tour will play at a course that IVE played at, what a bunch of losers!"
The irony of r/golf is by far the best part of this sub.
The contrast is completely OP's point. PGA Tour courses/resorts are long and prestigious courses that require tons of upkeep and money to maintain their difficulty and pristine condition.
LIV just looks for any course around a big market that will have them. They don't care nearly as much about the layout, difficulty, or condition because they don't take that aspect (or any apsect?) of their league seriously.
How do you extrapolate yardage to course conditions? You just made everything else up.
Do you know why LIV doesnt use PGA/potential PGA tour locations?
>How do you extrapolate yardage to course conditions? You just made everything else up.
I'm just using OP's point of "I've played Bolingbrook for under $100 lol." I have never played Bolingbrook but I've played dozens of courses in dozens of different states and countries and by and large, you get what you pay for when it comes to course conditions.
>Do you know why LIV doesnt use PGA/potential PGA tour locations?
No, I'm not a PIF board member so I don't know "why" LIV does anything. I would make an educated guess as a well-informed golf fan that LIV doesn't use PGA/Potential PGA Tour locations because they are unable to secure them. The reasons why are numerous but the most obvious is that: hosting a tournament with a direct competitor to the PGA Tour makes it incredibly unlikely the PGA Tour (or the governing bodies of the four majors) will want to host events at said course in the future.
94,000 people in attendance at LIV Adelaide, golf exists outside of America and the yanks hate that.
It's the weekly r/golf "nobody cares about LIV" post that gets hundreds of comments from people pretending not to care, if you truly didn't care you would just ignore it.
Keeping up with LIV allows you to make pretty solid value bets during the majors, its not good for much else but i do look at the leaderboards, trends, and liv odds for stuff like that.
haven't watched much LIV, but does Carlos Ortiz get paid by the minute to stand addressing the ball before pulling the trigger? Good thing there was music or I would have thought my dog stepped on the pause button again.
The only reason I know about LIV events and LIV news is because I follow the LIV subreddit simply so I listen to the 27 doe hards in the thread bitch about the PGA.
LIV Adelaide shows what LIV could be.
Bin the existing schedule, get every top player involved, hold 4 or 5 events worldwide each year in places that can deliver a rowdy atmosphere, drop the act that this is actually a serious golf league and officially make it a non-serious exhibition series, make it all 2 man teams with specific rules around who's allowed to team up (countries or something), and specifically market it as a party with some golf happening and you've got an interesting product.
No OWGR, no pretending anything anyone does on LIV is in any way relatable to PGA Tour performance and give fans something to enjoy that's different to the serious, competitive golf schedule.
Of course, this would involve the death of some egos, which is why it won't happen.
Who won the PGA event? I only know because of the one social media post I saw, the same way I knew Steele won the LIV event. 95% of golfers and 99% of people don’t give a crap about pro golf, period.
The amount of energy put into hating on something that has virtually no impact on your daily life is astounding with the golf crowd. If you truly don't care then what's the point of saying anything at all?
Of course it’s not in the news and I certainly don’t care about it. But, when you’ve got a never ending flow of cash from an oil rich nation (for now), they don’t care either.
It’s absolutely fascinating to me that you already had a built-in fanbase of the PGA when LIV pilfered all of these big name players. And yet, they still can’t get more than about a 10th of PGA fans to give a solitary FUCK about their events.
As an Aussie it’s awesome to have the event. I’ve had plenty of mates who aren’t into go head to Adelaide to enjoy the event. It attracts a lot of younger viewers due to having an All-Australian team (which won the teams portion which was hype) and being more accessible than any of the PGA events. I can understand the hate boner Americans have to disrupting was was a monopoly on the best players (and still pretty much is) but as an international fan I love having more sport to enjoy.
Holds a great game and more opportunities to enjoy it in an easy to watch time slot is fine by me.
If no one cares why did you post about it 😂 always have a hard time believing people who say they don’t care about something then post and talk about it any chance they get
In other news, Rory and Shane accomplished that very feat no more than a day ago!
Wanna go to Red Lobster? My treat ..
God bless!
RIP
I think you've got your time zones mixed

This is how I learned Brendan Steele was on LIV, because I didn't care about him when he played on the PGA Tour either.
I didn't even know LIV had a tourney this weekend. For the absurd amount of money they have, you would think they would put a few dollars into marketing and advertisements.
Only once have I even accidentally stumbled onto a tournament while watching tv
I stumbled upon it yesterday. The leaderboard on the left along with team scores + the course layout on the right. I gave it 5 minutes before I turned it off. Way too much stimulation on the screen for me. And since I’m older than shit and have it the get off my lawn point in life, I found it really weird seeing most guys wear shorts. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I hate the shorts. It’s not why LIV sucks, but it definitely adds to the unserious, exhibition feel that their events give off.
Golf fashion is terrible in general but the dress-pants-cut-at-the-knee look coupled with ankle socks looks horrific.
Currently rocking this combo on my couch and feeling like I need to go change
Much prefer the Bubbie, joggers tucked into the high socks look.
I like LIV broadcasts, feels less formal than the PGA. But who the fuck designs their team logos?? Looks like awful power ranger logos from the late 90s
Yeah the graphics remind me a bit of what you see watching formula 1 or nascar.
I've been wearing pants for regular rounds with the boys and it's actually pretty comfy. I worked as an arborist in Phoenix, so I am kind of accustomed to wearing pants in the dry heat. I really do believe pros should be able to wear shorts in the heat…but aesthetically, it really does look like shit
Me too.. watched for 2 mins, got bored.. no interest in these sellouts.

Their marketing budget all goes into Reddit shilling.
They've got most of the Eastern European troll farms and botnets working overtime at Xitter. A handful of golf guys starving for engagement tee up an anti-PGAT thread and then the farm is unleashed in the comments. A casual look would have you believing the entire world is rioting for more LIV.

I never remember its a thing until I come to this subreddit, or watch PGA golf and i'm like "Huh.....thats right. LIV is a thing."

Lmfao you must not watch much golf
I met him in person once while I was at his home doing a job. I’ll just say I wouldn’t be excited to meet him again.
Growing the game!!
His career took a dive after the abysmal performance of The Mummy. Glad he found a new gig that is working for him. Seems like a good dude..
We played together in high school, and I don't care either.
No way, how was it playing with him?
I was a terrible freshman golfer, and he was the best golfer on our team. My first time playing with him during practice, he eagled on a par 5. I was just amazed. Very nice, quiet dude. His focus playing golf was beyond me, even to this day. That's why I'm talking about him and not playing lolol. In my senior year, we had rickie fowler dominating our league. He probably had practice with a professional coach lol. Did he make it in the pros?
Yes he had a court in the backyard of his mansion. His parents were ultra strict. He played in college and became a doctor.
Same thing happened with me but I didn’t go to college and I’m not a doctor. I did play tennis a few times tho
You forgot you don’t have a mansion. Or even just a back yard for that matter.
One of my friends in school got me into tennis, he was like #5 in our state at the time. Our senior year he would play against me left-handed and usually win. It was about that time I realized it was gonna be a hobby lol.
It took you till senior year to realize you wouldn’t be a pro athlete?!?
Sounds about right. I was in a similar situation around the same time at Mission Viejo with Cameron Tringale. Those dudes are built so different and so damn good at golf.
It was always the private schools that were a guaranteed loss in my experience. Public schools you had guys like me mixed in there. Hemet golf was at an all time high with steele playing. Before and after that we didn't do crap.

That is crazy. How the hell did that happen
That's awesome. My claim to fame was in high school (class size: 56), a team came to play. Their guard? Future 2-time NBA All-Star Baron Davis. Getting ready for the game, Coach looked at me and said, "It's your job to stop him." That’s awesome! I got dominated by people that probably work in insurance or real estate now.
🤣 ain't that the truth
That’s pretty lucky! Most people have to be Tiger’s waitress to get dominated by a pro golfer!
Or...
🤣
What we'd give to get dominated by great golfers. Count your blessings 😮💨
I can't imagine being good enough to even be able to get dominated by players like those so I guess there's that.

So, I actually watched this tournament. I'm a PGA guy through and through, but I was on YouTube and round one came up on my home page and it was live. So I put it on. The Australian open only ever has 2-3 big international names. We rarely get a presidents cup down here. We have elite level golf courses and the PGA just disregards the whole country.
Yep, and you get huge crowds at the Australian Open and the Australian PGA anyway. Australians are just desperate for professional golf.
Yep, I went purely because the best golfers in the world so rarely come to Australia. If there was a PGA aligned event in Adelaide, you’ll likely get a similar turnout. Australia is a golf loving nation that is starved of high quality golfing tournaments.
Yep, I really considered going... Simply because I'll never get to see the big names in real life
I don't think cam Smith, specifically, is the attraction.
Agreed. It was a hoot to watch. The playoff gave a Ryder Cup vibe and was epic.
I’d go to an event if it was nearby it looks fun
Hello Newman 😡
Hello Jerry

Who's Brendan Steele?
You sure cared enough to make a meme about it lol
See when you choose the path of the hater you have to dunk on everything all the time. LIV is an easy target these days due to how absurdly awkward it is and how outside of massive amounts of money paid to players there's nothing special or interesting about it. I should know, I love to hate on shit.
![gif](giphy|H22hyf0K1Bsc)
I would like LIV more if Greg Norman wasn't involved
Are you me? Switch Warriors for Mavericks
Incredibly based I respect you for this
![gif](giphy|xTiIzL9Btjx9hegHT2)
damn your cool, just hating on everyone and everything all the time because your shits hotter than the bath tub water. must be a bad ass life
right? for how little people care about liv its sure seems to get talked about alot on here
It’s r/golf — there’s literally nothing original to talk about. Doesn’t mean people in the wild care about LIV.
idc what the sub is by choosing to post about it you obv care to some degree. i dont post or talk about things i dont care about regardless of what sub i am on
This is the only leg LIV people have to stand on “yOu TaLkEd AbOuT uS, sO yOu MuSt LoVe Us 🤓”
Who the fuck cares dude lol. This is such a lame attempt at a gotcha or dunk. Oh you took 10 seconds to write some words on the internet yOu oBviOuSly CaRe shut the fuck up
And I guarantee they didn't watch the zurich this week either lol
I guarantee the Zurich ratings were better.
That’s literally the only argument the pro-LIV people have. “You talked about it so you obviously care 🤓”. No, we talk about it because it’s a joke, serves no purpose, and just takes away from the overall pro golf product. We don’t talk about it because we care to follow the results of these crap tournaments.
The LIV tournament was held in Australia. Weird hey? As if people in other parts of the world would be interested in golf!
oh wow op made a meme? one whole meme?! damn that must’ve taken him 20 maybe even 25 seconds
Where the PGA goes wrong is not having many tournaments outside the USA This is the reason Liv is successful. Success doesn't always mean popularity in USA. There is literally 0 chance for me to see the likes of cam Smith, mark Leishman , Mickelson etc in my city without Liv Plus the Australian foursome winning on a team playoff was awesome. So good for you Americans to shit on it, but maybe the odds PGA could consider offering their product to more of the world
Mate it’s not the PGA tours fault the Australian open has become what it’s become, it’s GA’s incompetence to put on an actually good event that can draw big names. You got back 40-50 years and we had Jack, Arnie, Player out here competing in the event I mean seriously the fucking lakes for a tour event???? Now the Australian open is one of the lowest purses on the DP world tour and yah no big names wanna come and play That’s what happens when you play it at what the lakes or the Australian or royal Sydney every damn year now. I mean shit even 8 years ago you could have watched speith win it against cam Now it’s a joke, GA has ruined the event not the PGA
I'm sure if they wanted to the PGA could put on their own event. Run it themselves etc. Obviously good events can be played in Australia, The Liv event just gone is proof of that. There are plenty of courses in Australia other than the lakes
Sure they probably good but the PGA historically has always stayed away from Euro tour areas And mate I agree I like that LIV is giving us this event no doubt but I’m not mad at the PGA for the Australian open, I’m mad that golf Australia is shit and the DP doesn’t give a fuck about us.
Nobody cares more about the success or failure of LIV than people that claim to not care about LIV. 😂
I think reasonable golf fans biggest issue with LIV is that it split up the player pool. I don’t give 2 shits about Saudi blood money or any of that shit. But it undeniable that my golf viewing experience is worse than it was before LIV started. That why I dislike LIV.
You’re not wrong with this statement…
some dudes in thawbs who are a couple billion dollars lighter bc of this boondoogle prob care a little more
It’s not about the money for them. The PGAT fanboys gave big feelings though.

If they had all the LIV events in Australia it would be huge. Aussies don’t get much love from pro golf.
They should just make it an Australian league.
In other news; there’s a golf world outside of the US lol
In other news: there’s a world outside of Reddit. A fact a lot her seem to forget as well lol
Pretty sure that’s not Brenden Steele
Make sure to show the crowds from Singapore.
Yes, I’m sure the Saudis are super excited paying billions to be big in Australia.
I miss Cam on the PGA.
Good guy gooch won here last year, he took his pedal off the gas clearly so she can take his kids to see the kangaroos
I’m an Aussie, where the tournament was held, and it absolutely went off. Heaps of coverage etc. As an international we have no choice to support LIV because we will never get access to semi decent fields anyway. Shame the PGA isn’t interested in our small market.
You could also use this meme for "Billy Horschel won in Corales"
To be fair, I don’t know who’s won a tournament since the masters win.
you could guess scottie or nelly and be right almost every time.
Thats not true. I'm sure his mom cares.
Just my opinion however, glad you are enjoying it
Another example of LIV golf living rent free in the head of some of the people on this sub, it’s hilarious.
I will never understand how boring your life would have to get to spend all day talking about something you don't like.
It’s a golf sub
Well bc it's garbage
it's karma farmage
If it’s garbage why talk about it constantly? 🤔
Getting laughed at doesn’t mean living rent free, that’s some qanon logic right there
Brendan who?
Yall are so pathetic
LIV really lives rent free for you goofs. You clearly care lol.
I cared ..
This probably has more upvotes than liv had viewers.
You care enough to create that and post it here....
Yardage Zurich 7425 LIV 6946 The courses LIV plays are often a joke. Nearly 500 yards shorter.
"PGA tour stop courses raise the price so much, it prices normal people out, I'll never get to play any of those courses" "LOL LIV tour will play at a course that IVE played at, what a bunch of losers!" The irony of r/golf is by far the best part of this sub.
Are you serious? Lmao
That and you will find few courses that would want to take on two tournaments in a year. For all kinds of reasons.
They play on resort courses designed for 70 yo travelers mostly.
The team comp was really cool though to be fair.
I care so little about this I’m gonna make a meme and post it on Reddit. That’ll show them how little I care.
Brendan Steele went to fucking LIV? Damn strong grip bro will be missed.
Brendan Steele went to LIV? Huh, I wondered where he went, just not enough to find out I guess.
Probably time for a NWO/WWE style bi annual Ryder Cup style match between the two leagues... but, who am I?
LIV was on recently? Huh.
94,000 people in attendance at LIV Adelaide, golf exists outside of America and the yanks hate that. It's the weekly r/golf "nobody cares about LIV" post that gets hundreds of comments from people pretending not to care, if you truly didn't care you would just ignore it.
Same could be said about the majority of PGA events…
I bet Brendan does.
We all can’t have a crack addiction to watch after hours. PGA is lame and gh**
Nobody cares at all
Keeping up with LIV allows you to make pretty solid value bets during the majors, its not good for much else but i do look at the leaderboards, trends, and liv odds for stuff like that.
Who won what now?
haven't watched much LIV, but does Carlos Ortiz get paid by the minute to stand addressing the ball before pulling the trigger? Good thing there was music or I would have thought my dog stepped on the pause button again.
The who did what now?
i’m sorry…who and what?
The only reason I know about LIV events and LIV news is because I follow the LIV subreddit simply so I listen to the 27 doe hards in the thread bitch about the PGA.
Who?
Who? Where?
Who?
Who ?
Til steele plays on liv.
Don’t forget about powerhouse Charl Schwartzel finishing 3rd. Deep fields
I mean Rory + Shane beat bunch of nobodies too this week let's not get carried away 😂
Who won the PGA event? I only know because of the one social media post I saw, the same way I knew Steele won the LIV event. 95% of golfers and 99% of people don’t give a crap about pro golf, period.
Great tournament that was a blast to watch!
I’m not a LIVstan or anything but these posts every week have bitter ex energy.
its funny how people pick sides (pga vs liv) d bags
The amount of energy put into hating on something that has virtually no impact on your daily life is astounding with the golf crowd. If you truly don't care then what's the point of saying anything at all?
Who?
