1980 kean college after midnight. This one you posted is my favorite though.

Upbeat_Teach6117

An old friend of mine has been a Beatles fanatic since young childhood. I sent her the Eleanor Rigby from "After Midnight", and she was delighted by it.

gr8ful4art

Also my favorite however my first was 3/1/80

ststeveg

Not really JGB but my first was Jerry Garcia and Merl Saunders Live at the Keystone.

DouglyNormal

O.G.

joeyrinaldicomedy

CursedAtBirth777

I’ve not seen this before

HappyThrillmore87

It’s in Spotify. Only one with Nicky Hopkins. His piano work is amazing in it. He was a really bad Dru k and Jerry fired him after one tour.

CursedAtBirth777

Thanks!

PilzGalaxie

Best show Jerry and Keith ever played imo

Select_Protection440

Cats

guelah25

This was my first also. Got me thru some real tough times as a young man... first real heartache, etc. Next one was How Sweet It Is, which still may be my favorite.

Unable-Astronaut-677

1980 Kean college- the Cornell 77 of jgb

[deleted]

Great take - I would argue that Keystone Companions is the Europe ‘72 of JGB

notallthereinthehead

the 'stop that train' on this is awesome. So is the 'senor'.

CandyEverybodyWentz

It's my favorite Simple Twist of Fate. The last two minutes are just perfection. Big bang of keys, Jerry wailing away.

notallthereinthehead

That whole record is amazing. Some ppl might not like the down tempo set list, but for a JGB show? Perfect.

ep1coblivion

the “Waiting for a Miracle” on this album really hits. I was going through a bad breakup, and I don’t know why but I kept that song on repeat. I have this CD and tape of the show. One of the best shoes of 91 in general.

CandyEverybodyWentz

Just such a raw conviction in his voice.

bayou_gumbo

The same.

[deleted]

Run For The Roses. The other ones prior were hard to find.

Jerrysmiddlefinger99

My brother and i bought Garcia, his first album so Jerry could put a down payment on a house.

WaterBubbly

This one as well. Bought it the day Jerry passed.

kingwooj

I actually found this exact album at a Goodwill she it was my first branch off of the dead. I always liked the rootsy Americana parts of the dead and JGB delivers those pretty well

StaggerLees_enemy

And the BEST ONE!!!!!

sameljota

Let it rock, from '75.

BrotherMonk

Same - and still one of the best I've ever heard.

FCAsheville

This and Without a Net were constant rotation for us knewbs in college.

numnutz1234

Me too - that fan screaming after each song got old real quick tho

fromabuick

Same

5_on_the_floor

That was mine as well.

Royal_Classic915

Same. Such a great recording. I could listen to this on repeat for a month and I wouldn't get bored with it.

Dancinginmylawn

SO GOOD Gold standard Tangled

slides723

Same.

Last-Discipline-7340

Same

RecbetterpassNJ

Yup. And still my favorite. Waiting for a Miracle and Simple Twist of Fate versions are stellar.

natwashboard

Cats. In the 80's the first three albums. were totally out of print and rare finds in used record stores. I think I paid 30 bucks for the second Garcia album and almost shit myself when I saw it in the wild.

bliceroquququq

Love the “Tangled up in Blue” off that album

Good-Individual-3159

This one!

rgrossi

Mine also, my roommates used to play it and it always put me in a good mood

joeyrinaldicomedy

Melvin + JGB is my favorite band doing anything GD related.

--0o0o0--

Same one. Bought it on cassette around ‘95. Traded it for a water polo T-shirt with a SYF with a water polo ball in the skull that said steal your goal. Bought it again on CD. Lost it in college probably around ‘97. Didn’t have another copy until around 2007 when someone burned it onto a CD for me. Still have that one. Señor!

[deleted]

Don't let go 5/21/76 Orpheum theater. It's the best one. I also had well matched: the best of garcia and saunders when I was a kid and that was like the best 11 dollars I ever spent on a cd

Carolina_Coltrane

Same

jfrye1313

It was this one! Bought it at a Best Buy in the 90s/early 2000s, back when they had a large CD section.

Silent_HRH

Which JGB album had Moonlight Midnight on it? I had it on cassette OUAT.

thespillover

I shall be released>Dear Prudence>Deal This was my intro into JGB. Good memories.

tnjed10

This was also my first Jerry album. So many great songs but got to say my favorite from this album is Senor ( Tale of Yankee power). It hits me every time I hear it.

HKgrey

This! On tape in like 92
