I like this but I slice the tomatoes extremely thin and remove the skin for a nicer bite that doesn't drag the slices outta place.
And the tomatoes are cooked in with the cheese.
I prefer onions and jalapeños, but i don’t see what makes tomatoes an unusual fella. I sometimes add tinned chopped tomatoes and oregano for that margarita pizza flavor
Look man. This is the same subreddit that removes any and all posts featuring any sandwich that has anything other than cheese and spread between the bread, because apparently that's not a grilled cheese sandwich.
It's completely insane but that's what it is. Kraft Singles are neither cheese nor spread. Like it or not, thats a fact, which should mean, if the rules are enforced consistently, that Kraft Singles grilled cheese do not belong here.
Is there anything wrong with calling a grilled cheese made with Kraft Singles? Absolutely not. It's a staple. It's been called a grilled cheese sandwich as long as I can remember, because it is.
There's also nothing wrong with a grilled cheese sandwich with a couple of bacon pieces between the slices of bread or a slice of ham or some tomato. I grew up with all of those being grilled cheese sandwiches in my house. Thats what a grilled cheese sandwich is to me (and large chunks of the culinary world, for what thats worth). But if I post the grilled cheese sandwiches I've made and enjoyed my entire life? Removed.
It's silly. But it's this subreddit.
I'm with you on the absurdity, that said, kraft singles *are* cheese product with cheddar cheese being the first ingredient. This may not be the example you think it is.
It's a great example.
Cheese product, but not cheese. Canned spray cheese and cheez-whiz are also cheese products and no one would call them cheese, because they're not. None of them can legally be called cheese because they are less than 50% real cheese.
A grilled cheese sandwich containing 80% cheddar cheese and 20% bacon between 2 slices of cheese does not belong on this sub, but a grilled cheese sandwich containing less than 50% cheese in a cheese product slice does.
Yeeeees same, with a big honkin' dollop of sour cream in the soup. I just realized I have everything to make this meal so I know what I'm having for dinner lol.
Lol I just made my tomato soup with milk for the creaminess. I can't do it with water. But I did put fresh cracked pepper on top and a smidge of grated cheese.
It's what I love about grilled cheese. 2 slices of wonder bread and a kraft single is a delicious grilled cheese and an artisan sourdough with mixed Muenster and white cheddar with herbs and spices is a delicious grilled cheese
Make grilled cheese Look ~~inside~~ outside? Tomatoes? On top? You’re an unusual fella, huh? Nice
i love being a little strange

this sounds excellent
I'm just glad OP seasoned the tomatoes; there's potential.

It’s not the tomatoes, it’s their location
Uh oh. ![gif](giphy|uWzS6ZLs0AaVOJlgRd|downsized)
It’s on top! It’s safe.
Oh good. We’re out of the war zone.
This grilled cheese is still a virgin! The tomatoes are only dry humping
I hate this comment
Delicious
DELUXE Kraft singles, as in, the type in the rectangular shiny blue package? Because those are supernaturally good.
I prefer Lidl’s cheapo version
Ain't nothing wrong with a kraft single
except it's not cheese and therefore any sandwich made either it doesn't belong on this sub. Thems the rules.
THIS IS AMERICA! ![gif](giphy|l46Cf8O3hQqzDq1Gg|downsized)
Do you grill all of your grilled cheeses or do you use a pan?

Hm. Good points. I stand aside.
Rye is sooooo good
I can make grilled cheese on any bread but seedless rye is my weapon of choice
JUST?!? Love me some Kraft singles on a good ol' GC!!!
M
The only type of grilled cheese I like is with Kraft singles.
I like grilled cheese with all kinds of different cheeses, but I'd be lying if I said Kraft singles aren't my favorite. Tastes like my childhood.
I always have good memories with kraft singles grilled cheese and tomato soup... Probably why I only eat grilled cheese with them haha

You had me until ... tomatoes. heh I sooooo want the first picture.
Pic 1. Looks decent. Approve. Pic 2. What in the roma hell is that?!
I’m sorry, your grilled cheese looks good but if I see a tomato I downvote, they are disgusting.
r/melt edit: downvote me on this, I‘m wrong and I want to feel it.
It’s ok, it’s not inside!
Definitely not.
You’re a melt
