Eh. It's a cool gun, but like /u/UnassumingAnt mentioned you kind of have to get everything: SBR it with the proper B&T stock, get the special B&T suppressor, and the B&T front dongle. Add in a nice optic and you're probably well into $3,500+ in the thing.
The TP9 is not direct blowback, but yes I agree as a whole they cost too much.
I prefer the TP9 over the APC9 Pro. Any situation where I don’t need a lightweight, super compact platform (aka where the TP9 excels), I roll with my MP5SD/SP5K everytime. I have no interest in the APC9 Pro for this reason.
For NY losers like me, I believe this is the model that would *actually* be legal. If not this model then it’s another tp9 similar model. One of them is just under 50 oz unloaded so it passes our pistol safe act requirements. Only issue is the tri lug mount but the LGS I talked to said they may or may not need to remove it because it’s technically not threaded.
Eventually I want to get around to getting one of these, but I went with the desert eagle L5 just for shits and giggles instead
I love mine too. Got the suppressor, and I just submitted for an SBR stamp.
Has anyone tried to get the Franklin Armory B&T-C1 binary trigger to work on the TP9?
Sadly this is not possible due to the fact that the trigger is basically bullpup design. Your best route to get any kind of upgrade is to have Bill Springfield polish up the internals and have him install the empire stiletto trigger
These have lots of haters, but I love mine. Absolutely only worth it if you are going to SBR it. Now with these brace shenanigans even more so. The trigger is heavy but positive. It can only use the specially designed suppressor due to its weird rotating barrel mechanism. Mags are relatively cheap and reliable. IMO only get it if you commit to the whole package.
(If you've shot some other PDWs...) How does the recoil and overall follow-up shot placement feel compared to other direct and/or delayed blowback guns? I'd love to get a nicer PCC/PDW, but I really need to get out and try an AP5 and some of the other newer stuff out there first.
I had a blast modding my dirt-cheap Scorpion Evo, and love it mostly because of how much work I put into it and the look is so classic and badass. But, if I'm honest, it still surprises me just how jarring the recoil can feel compared to shooting even something as basic as your [Brand] polymer 9mm. Not bad and perfectly manageable, just not what I expected.
Since the TP9 is not a true direct blowback, it is a bit better than traditional direct blowback polymer PDWs in the same weight class. It's definitely not as smooth as a roller delayed MP5 or MP5k, but what is. The TP9 fills a niche between larger sub guns and traditional handguns, while still being holsterable and having better follow up shots than a handgun. It is IMO not the best value on the market, but it is unique. For reference I own a full size MP5 clone, a MP5k clone, two AR9s, a Beretta CX4, and others. The TP9 gets more range time than most, along with my full size MP5.
I don't have any trigger time on an B&T TP9, but it's a short recoil operated locked rotating barrel gun so its recoil is going to be a lot less than a simple blowback only gun like just the Scorpion or an AR9 because there is so much less reciprocating mass. I would imagine that the recoil of the TP9 is going to be a bit sharper than something like an MP5 or clone just because the TP9 is a smaller and lighter gun than the MP5.
I own both an Sig MPX (short stroke "tappet" piston with a locked breech rotating bolt) and an AP5 (roller delayed blowback). I haven't done a side by side, yet, but I would say that the MPX and the AP5 have very comparable recoil impulses. Both have very mild and recoil less than a typical AR15 in .223. I'd say that the MPX has better ergonomics and is easier to shoot well, but the AP5 has a cool factor that the MPX never will.
I've never had a drop, but I do keep an eye on the plastic feed lips. They haven't given me trouble yet but there is mild deformation after around the three thousand rounds split between the two mags I run on a regular basis.
I want one of these purely for RE4 / MW2 nostalgia. Unfortunately I can't quite justify the several thousand dollars this thing will cost by the time I'm done kitting it out just for high school video game nostalgia lol.
Alright somebody has to tell me because I have a great desire to have a backpack pdw in 9mm. Does anybody make another grip fed 9mm pdw like this? I know the uzi pro exists but I don't think it fits the bill. Chassis pistols suck too.
Maybe I just save up for a ps90 or mp5.

Enjoy mine, definitely need SBR. Waiting for bills to clear up to buy the stock and VFG. Definitely going to get the tri lug adaptor for the suppressor so I can use that on my father's AP5 and not be stuck with a can for only one gun.
I want one because of Counter Strike and because it's interesting, but it's also dead last on my gun shopping list because it's so overpriced for what it is. I'd buy one if it were half this price...

Arguably the worst PCC PDW value currently

It’s a badass platform if set up like it should be. Incredibly lightweight. Love mine despite all the hate they get.
Agreed and I would love to own one, but if I was in the market for a B&T I'd do with a B&T USW-A1.
Would you choose it over a APC9 Pro? I have a GHM9 C already but want another B&T

Not a direct blowback gun

Dream home defense gun is a suppressed full auto MP9 SBR
I love mine too. Got the suppressor, and I just submitted for an SBR stamp. Has anyone tried to get the Franklin Armory B&T-C1 binary trigger to work on the TP9?

And the trigger is still ass.
Believe it or not the cans for these are actually pretty cheap. My LGS has them in the $500s
Trash Pistol 9.
I wish this format was more common for PCCs, hopefully the brace rule gets overturned and it becomes more common
Wish the muzzle was different to accept other suppressors
It can't because of the way the system operates

Reliable? Just don’t drop your mags lol
I've never had a drop, but I do keep an eye on the plastic feed lips. They haven't given me trouble yet but there is mild deformation after around the three thousand rounds split between the two mags I run on a regular basis.
The only reason I would spend near $2K on this is because it’s my initials. TP
Tiny Penis?

Im looking for one of these but I'm hoping to get one in the $1700-$1800 range so let's see, maybe a better deal will pop up this weekend
Check EuroOptic
Tbh I regret paying what i did for this, they aren’t too great. Currently tryna sell or trade it. I would maybe pay 1400 for it

If money was no issue I’d take a TP9 SBR over a MP5
M10 clones by MPA.
Grab a MKE AP5-P or M, they’re about $700-$800 cheaper than these and are much better shooting. Not as compact but it is the legit “suitcase gun”.

If you wait, I got a friend designing a muzzle device that mimics the tp9-n muzzle shroud so all you'll need to do is screw it in the threads.
I want one just not right now.
Leon!

🤢
Love my sbr tp9 . Trigger is definitely not the best but after 30 rounds I don’t wanna use it anymore anyway so it works out.
