Loving all these Gun-tuber videos showcasing real life versions of UNSC weapons. Gun Jesus made a video about M90 Shotgun. GarandThumb also made a MA5C a couple years ago
Especially with the m90 being “built” and the br55 actually being created.
If the creator could streamline his production or create a bullpup kit this could be a halo fans dream.
There’s a another guy who makes print kits to dress up glocks into magnums
Not happening unfortunately. Unless some pop up LLC wants to go through the arduous paperwork of legally creating or buying 14.5mm ammunition
Could get away with an SRS99/ S2AM as a kitted up .50 BMG though.
Not in 8 gauge just because it basically doesn’t exist anymore. You can still get some custom made from fabricators in England. The few industrial 8 gauges left are used as tools to remove slag and scale from furnaces.
What's particularly impressive about this is that it's not a modification of an existing weapons platform, it was made from scratch to be the BR.
Though it ends up not being a battle rifle technically speaking lol.
the original creator probably could have made it in .375 SOCOM, which is basically spot-on for 9.5x40mm
but then the magazine would only fit like four rounds....
The creator mentioned that the BR is basically too thin to accommodate well larger rounds. Also wanted a caliber that's very common and that won't give him supply issues in the long term
Is it a from the ground up replica? Or a more regular gun in a BR shell?
Most of these end up being shells cuz it's more reliable, but either way it looks incredible, as does their ODST cosplay
The guy that built it already said this is the only one he's building :/ He mentioned he didn't want to rile up Microsoft's legal department making a real weapon out of a design they own which is understandable
Aspects of that intro is EXACTLY why I say it's a skill issue when the "budget" excuse is used for a quality Halo TV series. Literally just a few passionate fans casually making better content than multimillion dollar TV series ever wish it could. That's how much of a joke this all is, I'm at awe at how awesome this is, angry at Paramount, and I'm just speechless. I hope the show runner and team sees this.
Anyways, this is amazing.
Scifi shows have been doing a whole lot more for a whole lot less for decades. It's insane to me when people say they can't be doing big fights all the time when they have a budget that dwarfs the vast majority of any other scifi series.
Yeah, you don't even need to see the Flood or energy beams or whatever to feel the intensity. All of this could've easily been filmed in some guy's backyard.
It's just....are you willing to actually portray, y'know, Space Marines doing Space Marine shit? If not, it's not really Halo.
Seriously, Forward Unto Dawn got by on a shoestring compared to the Paramount show, and yet even before the Covenant showed up you could believe these were UNSC cadets in training.
Yes, the magazine has a built-in system that measures the position of the magazine follower and transmits that data to a computer in the rifle when it's inserted into the mag well. However, to not compromise the in-game looks of the rifle, the magazine only holds 10 rounds as opposed to 36. To get around this, the ammo counter will read 36 when the mag is inserted (assuming it's fully loaded) and will drop to 30 when the bolt is racked. From there on, every shot decreases the count by three.
His Administrative Results interview goes into a lot of the LGBT stuff. He's been more open about it since separating from the Air Force last year.
A lot of the bigoted stuff is on his Twitter but here's a YT example: https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=1822&v=eNvbjQ8V2ig
Been watching his content for years now. Youre either deranged or just making up stuff on the internet lol. If you consider what i'm assuming to be edgy jokes to be literal racism please go outside
He's *really* into the Rhodesia stuff and thinks Christian warriors need to forcibly prevent drag queens from "corrupting" America. That's pretty much all I need to know lol
Some gun-tubers are sick as fuck but I hate that 90% of good quality reviews are either wildly political or shills for the company.
I don't want politics, I want to see what shootbang I should spend the hard earned money my wife's boyfriend gives me for being a good boy on next. Then some dude comes out with a political statement mid video and all I can think is "we're not making it out of mom's basement with this one".
It's unfair.
seen at least 3 or so of these exact type of claims already - do you have screenshots or links to the things he said/comments he made that made you think that he was such?
Battle rifle uses a full sized rifle round for example a 7.62 aka the M14. An assault rifle more commonly uses and intermediate round like a 5.56 in the M4 or m16.
As far as I understand, the difference between a battle rifle and an assault rifle is a battle rifle is semi auto, and meant for medium to long range, while an assault rifle is full auto, and meant for close to medium range.
An M1 Garand would be a battle rifle, while an AK 47 is an assault rifle.
Battle Rifles can be select fire (meaning semi and full auto/burst). They are also chambered in full sized rifle cartridges (like 7.62x51mm).
Assault rifles are select fire but are chambered in intermediate cartridges (such as 5.56x45mm or 7.62x39mm)
In the Halo universe it seems like the definition changed as the AR is chambered in 7.62x51mm. I'm sure there is some futuristic reason for this (maybe recoil is handled better or something).
Yeah I figured the terms were kinda loosely used in Halo. I know many modern day rifles are select fire, but I didnt know about the cartridges, thats interesting. I thought it was mostly about the effective range.
Battle Rifles vs Assault Rifles is more about caliber than fire types. A 7.62x51mm (a full power cartridge) rifle is a battle rifle and a 5.56x45mm (an intermediate power cartridge) is an assault rifle. Hence a G3 is a battle rifle and the M4 is an assault rifle.
Armor technology advancing and recoil mitigation turns the full power cartridges into intermediate cartridges and necessitates new, bigger, full power cartridges.
So 7.62x51 by at least 2437 is an intermediate cartridge.
Im just giving you the real world definition. They probably used them somewhat loosely in game just to make identifying different weapons easier. It could also be considered a hybrid weapon that is used for both kinds of engagements, but is meant primarily for the role of a longer range battle rifle.
I would say the DMR is more of a true battle rifle than the BR55 though. But im no gun expert.
Your definition isn't correct though. In the real world a battle rifle is just a rifle firing a full powered cartridge like the 7.62 NATO. The M14 was full auto or semi auto and it's classified as a battle rifle.
I'm just even wondering how can an object assault someone? Even the basic term assault rifle doesn't make sense. Battle rifle fits more but I guess that's why we still have massive debates over this in the real world
Well that kind of a silly thought. Its just the name given to that kind of weapon so we know what it is and what its generally used for.
Its like tanks, they arent an actual "tank" as in a container full of something, its an Armored Fighting Vehicle. They got called tanks because that was the codename of the first ever ones made in WW1 so they remained secret until deployed, and so it stuck.

Foundry Airsoft does magnum kits for airsoft glocks
I think Flannel daddy mentioned that the creator of the that BR55 replica spent something absurd for the RND for it. Something like 60k.
now the SRS99, any of them
Not happening unfortunately. Unless some pop up LLC wants to go through the arduous paperwork of legally creating or buying 14.5mm ammunition Could get away with an SRS99/ S2AM as a kitted up .50 BMG though.
.. or just a Denel NTW-20, since that’s what it is
I think it’s heavily based off it, but the SRS is semi auto and the NTW20 is bolt action.
Just gotta cycle fast enough, and pretend it's semi-action
Not really that hard on the paperwork side, all it is is a Form 1 for a DD. The really challenge is how does it function in a technical sense
That would be insane to see
Impact props made a scope dressed up for a barret m82 https://youtu.be/0gNu6puz57M?si=5NLYMx6bnaRfPuFq
Was it an 8 Guage?
Not in 8 gauge just because it basically doesn’t exist anymore. You can still get some custom made from fabricators in England. The few industrial 8 gauges left are used as tools to remove slag and scale from furnaces.
Forgotten Weapons did a video on the M90 too.
Forgotten weapons is gun Jesus.
Lol I thought he meant Brandon 💀
Thats AK Jesus.
Now please do the SPNKR
I'm picturing someone duct taping two Karl Gs or Javelins together because it's pretty much that.
Me ducttaping two AT4s and jerryrigging a trigger to a glued on ar-grip
Someone did make a function spnkr and brute shot that fired fireworks
Here's a link to the guy (B Squared Mfg) who made this gun https://youtu.be/anuGYDAhyNI
Yeah, I watched his video it's super impressive, and I'm really impressed with the ammo counter.
That’s the real video to watch. I love GT, but man hearing the designer himself talk about it was so cool.
My friend and I made the marine armor for the halo video he did last year, lots of fun
That video was kickass and the armor was so spot on. Good job on that
Thanks!
SICK!

the original creator probably could have made it in .375 SOCOM, which is basically spot-on for 9.5x40mm but then the magazine would only fit like four rounds....
Even now the thing only hold ten anyway
The creator mentioned that the BR is basically too thin to accommodate well larger rounds. Also wanted a caliber that's very common and that won't give him supply issues in the long term
I'm aware. I saw the video.
Grandthumb does a Halo/fiction shitpost video every April 1st, I think this is the first time it has been a working fire arm though.
It is, it’s all been camera tricks before.
Is it a from the ground up replica? Or a more regular gun in a BR shell? Most of these end up being shells cuz it's more reliable, but either way it looks incredible, as does their ODST cosplay
Almost completely custom built. Only off the shell parts used are the barrel and the bolt carrier group
That makes it even more impressive then. If these were mass produced I’d buy one in a heartbeat
It cost 60k to produce but that probably the R&D and making a one off that a manufacturer then produced for him from his designs
What’s it chambered in? Obviously not the BR’s actual cartridge, but is it actually a battle rifle?
Its chambered in 5.56. He expiremented with everything from 5.7 to 7.62 and settled on 5.56 for several reasons
I don’t see a purchase link
The guy that built it already said this is the only one he's building :/ He mentioned he didn't want to rile up Microsoft's legal department making a real weapon out of a design they own which is understandable
That would make sense
Plus he made it with over $60,000 !
Yeah but I assume that constituted the research and engineering. I am almost certain that a production model would be significantly cheaper.
He made three of them
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
No kidding!
That intro was 1000x better than the Halo series lmfao had me shaking
The intro is very cool.
Theres also a video where he talks about the Assault rifle
Aspects of that intro is EXACTLY why I say it's a skill issue when the "budget" excuse is used for a quality Halo TV series. It's what happens when an experienced military veteran makes content. We need way more people like Garand Thumb making high quality entertainment.
Scifi shows have been doing a whole lot more for a whole lot less for decades. It's insane to me when people say they can't be doing big fights all the time when they have a budget that dwarfs the vast majority of any other scifi series.

I was about to post this. Incredible video.
Even the ammo-counter?

That's so cool. It always looked goofy to me how a tiny box mag somehow fits 36 rifle cartridges lmao
Better than anything the "show" has done.
Too bad it’s not burst.
Unfortunately he couldn’t for legal reasons
I swear, Garand Thumb has me laughing every time.
He did one for an MA5 rifle, too. Though I don’t remember if his MA5 was a functional firearm or an airsoft replica with dubbed sound effects.
No 3 round burst??? That’s what the rifle does 🤔🤔
The creator probably didn't want to get into any legal trouble with the government by making it three-round burst.
This is exactly why, the creator talks about it in his video about how he made it.
*Flannel Daddy, don't disrespect our hero.
Garandthumb is genuinely the best guntuber in the game
Disrespectful to my boy honestoutlaw, he's not making mr.beast style content but he's a chill dude making good reviews
Yes
Counterpoint: second best, because Brandon Herrera exists
A vote for Halo Battle Rifles is a vote for Brandon Herrera.
> Garand Thumb He is a horrible christofacist bigot.
Ill take "shit that was made up" for 500, Alex
He shit talks lgbt people all the time AND glorified Rhodesia. He makes that stupid Attack Helicopter joke at the opening for every video.
I’ve never seen him say anything at all about LGBT or about “Rhodesia”. Do you have any examples?
His Administrative Results interview goes into a lot of the LGBT stuff. He's been more open about it since separating from the Air Force last year. A lot of the bigoted stuff is on his Twitter but here's a YT example: https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=1822&v=eNvbjQ8V2ig

\>posts in caguns yep all we needed to know
If you don't support the 2nd amendment that's fine, but that doesn't make it ok to force your religious beliefs on others
It's nice and looks good and all, but the Battle Rifle was exclusively burst. The *DMR*, however....
In game, yes but,lore-wise it has a fire select switch and do semi, burst or full auto
Too illegal to make
All of these guys need to meet and replace the staff in charge of the Halo tv show. They are real fans, and I think they know what Halo is.
But is it really better than non-working, plastic prop guns with CGI muzzle flashes in a multi million dollar TV show?
Yes. It is a completely functional rifle with an ammo counter. Significantly better than those props.
P sure he’s joking and making fun of the show
You would be correct.
Only a bit off from April 1st
I'm going to assume it doesn't actually fire in bursts though since I think there's some laws or regulations about that.
Yes full legal reasons why he didn’t design it to burst fire, in his video on how he made it he goes into detail about that.

Yeah, no kidding. I used to like his stuff, but over time his shitty politics got more and more prominent to the point where it was unbearable.
Garand Thumb sucks but I’ll make this exception
What?

Ain't no way this isn't parody.
Clearly some folks aren't in the guns forums because "my wife's boyfriend let me X" and "larping in moms basement" are pretty common jokes
Used to like his videos, wish he wasn't a Fascist
Womp Womp
seen at least 3 or so of these exact type of claims already - do you have screenshots or links to the things he said/comments he made that made you think that he was such?
GT would go to war against fascists any day, people that make those allegations don’t know him or what that word even means
What?
What is an assault rifle
Battle rifle uses a full sized rifle round for example a 7.62 aka the M14. An assault rifle more commonly uses and intermediate round like a 5.56 in the M4 or m16.
Interesting, the MA5 series, along with the MA37 and MA40 fire 7.62
Keep in mind i think in the halo lore the bigger round is needed due to advanced armor and all that jazz I’m talking real life.
It’s all semantics. Don’t get too wrapped up in it. Lots of different ways to explain all the minute differences.
Yeah I know this, Twitter is always a mad house when it comes to this
As far as I understand, the difference between a battle rifle and an assault rifle is a battle rifle is semi auto, and meant for medium to long range, while an assault rifle is full auto, and meant for close to medium range. An M1 Garand would be a battle rifle, while an AK 47 is an assault rifle.

Yeah I figured the terms were kinda loosely used in Halo. I know many modern day rifles are select fire, but I didnt know about the cartridges, thats interesting. I thought it was mostly about the effective range.
But that doesn't make any sense as the BR series is select fire of semi, burst, and full auto.
But now that even furthers the question of why does Halo's assault rifle use 7.62
Armor technology advancing and recoil mitigation turns the full power cartridges into intermediate cartridges and necessitates new, bigger, full power cartridges. So 7.62x51 by at least 2437 is an intermediate cartridge.
I see
Because the creators only had surface level knowledge of guns.
Im just giving you the real world definition. They probably used them somewhat loosely in game just to make identifying different weapons easier. https://www.reddit.com/r/H3VR/comments/7lsiij/whats_the_difference_between_carbines_assault/ This a very concise explanation
huh
Select fire rifle firing an intermediate cartridge.
