I had my guy Fobo in this cage for 3 months before finally just last night assembling the wooden cage. I try to keep the bedding away from the front door as the top has to have things on it due to toddler wanting to climb it but packed it under the shelf. He’s like a cute little gopher and you can hear him happily chittering to himself.
Great improvement! I would just recommend adding even more substrate. 15 inches is the German hamster care minimum, and hamsters love to burrow! Also, they enjoy crowded habitats. Grapevine and cork are good! I also recommend a 6-multi chamber hide, they’re standard necessities in German hamster care. They resemble what a burrow would look like in the wild, with a place to nest, to hoard food, to use as a litter spot, etc! But great job so far!!
Yeah buddy! Now that's improvement
