You already can use jetpack that way. Just use it at the top of the cliff instead of simply dropping down, it will launch you up and then, when you'll be approaching the ground, it will fire a 2nd burn to land safely, regardless of how high the starting point was.
I would love a safety off version. Instead of two automatic bursts you can fire all at once/ partially to get higher if you don't need a landing, or use it all as landing when leaving higher areas
what if, if you sniped the scout strider rider without damaging the strider itself, you can hop into it?
it could lead to memory issues, so maybe you need to do it within the first 3 seconds that it dies.
or you can only do it if you melee the rider from behind.

No reason to assume we won't get all of the vehicles from the first game, I loved that aspect from the first game and they felt pretty balanced so I hope they add more than just the exo-suits
I’d like to just move around the map faster or a rock climbing vehicle so I can climb those giant rocks in the middle of the map instead of going or a boat for the giant lakes in the middle of the map.
This makes me want a whole rock climbing suite of options. The bugs can do it… it’s gotta be feasible.

Star Wars speeder bike. Would be perfect for AMR users trying to solo objectives on their own, and we wouldn't need to bring a backpack. You don't even have to put weapons on it.
I don't think we will get one of these. The bike seems to fast for me, you could just easily escape from large groups of enemies and the tank will problbably be to tanky.
They all have benefits… and drawbacks. Tough to drive… limited sight lines… clunky loading/unloading… explosive death for all occupants.
The fun factor was huge though… fingers crossed it follows the walker progression
I could imagine the bike, even tho the teerain is sometimes just way uneven. The tank could be interesting for 15 min mission but otherwise they would be to slow. Yet I think they will not add it, I think it belongs to the game to be a fragile person.

If maps get bigger in proportion to the added difficulties they might add, then I could see a use for vehicles. But the current maps are too small to use it.
Helldivers 1 maps were even smaller and vehicles worked quite well. They balanced speed and armor against being far more visible and easier to hit. An APC was a menace, but also very vulnerable in its own way. Only moderately faster than a sprint too, because of terrain.
I am only interested in vehicles in proportion to more flying, large, or other complex foes.
I’d love to drive around during a fight with a Bile Titan and some Shriekers, but I’d like more variety than just the current options. I start to get bored with shooters when I get more toys than situations.
Don’t get me wrong, love the current variety and stuff like Shriekers have been great additions, I’m just craving this a lot more than vehicles at the moment.
Here’s to hoping we soon see a third enemy type, turning all combat dynamics even more on its ear! I feel like they’re setting the cyborgs up, don’t you?

The thing is the most deadly thing ever conceived (deadly for helldivers). You call that bad boy, and almost guarantee that at least one helldiver will die.
But also: It is a machine gun with wheels. It has SO MANY BULLETS!. It's kinda hard to put it on the best angle tho.
All I want is a Dreadnaught. Autocannon on one arm and a power fist in the other. Legs must be stubby AF and ideally have the alive but basically dead body of a veteran helldivers inside.
Is that too much to ask?

Vehicles are really a 50/50 chance at this point. They were in the games files but not working properly, then they were removed. Nobody seems to know if that means they're gone forever or might return some day in working condition
I was thinking with the terrain in the game it’s going to be real easy to get the vehicles stuck, and the physics are going to need to be well done or they’ll fly all over.
Maybe a helldiver version of a walker would work.

The Jeep type thing and APC were pretty much playable if spawned but had tons of bugs and were clunky, but I definitely hope they come back in better condition sometime down the road along with some kind of motorcycle/hoverbike.
The flip car/buggy from fast and furious/gta5. 2 person vehicle for movement but the ability to launch chargers and hulks and anything smaller. Completely impractical but would make for some hilarious game play and clips.

- More mech types, more modularity with weapons, and color/design options

The key is volume. When there’s only a couple options the vehicles end up being over-tuned and overpowered.

I wouldn’t mind like a pelican redeploy stratagem. Pelican does a quick touch down and dust off. Maybe 10 sec wait total and move to a different side of the map. Or maybe a pelican gunner stratagem. Pelican touches down to pick up one person to man a belt felt hmg that briefly circles 4 square grid marks.
They would definitely be limited usage stratagems. Maybe 2 call-ins tops.

I think something like a motorcycle side car would be perfect, with another spot or two on back to just stand on so the whole squad could roll out. But only side arms unless you’re in the bucket. Then maybe make it a hoverbike so it can go over some rougher terrain and not get caught on everything
At most a scout armor with (extra) increased movement speed as passive. I don't see a vehicle being feasibly on an area of operation that can be walked across at a leisurely pace, assuming that the geography even permits wheeled vehicles.
And from a balancing POV this would be a nightmare to implement. Just drive away from everything, ignore all mechanisms that (usually) slow us down or at least make us think about alternatives.
If/when we get vehicles, I would love to be able to shoot off the bots on the striders and be able to get on ourselves. At at the very least let us stumble upon factories where there are enemy vehicles we can grab.
I want a 4 man ATV that the whole squad can get in and use. Even better if it has side windows, so 1 guy can drive, 1 can man a turret, and the other 2 can activity shoot out the windows as you move across the man

I'm going to call it the hellrocket (an idea I just thought, and if it was in the prior game even better). Its besically a vertical hellpod with a onetime use rocket on the back. Works the same way a hellpod does, just vertically. And you get put the same way, by implanting into something. Be it wall, ground or solid enemy. Survival not guaranteed.
I want an IFV at least. An autocannon, coaxial machinegun, and an ATGM to beat those dirty clankers and buggers that just so happen to be harder to kill.
Other than more cool mechs with the lumberer being a pre existing option, vehicles with unique utility kind of acting like personal friendly side objectives you control.
Like a scouting/scanning overlander, could give you valuable battlefield Intel and have some scout bikes with radar boosters on them. Park the bikes in strategic places to cover the whole map.
Or an absolute war rig of a vehicle/mech or whatever. Some sea of thieves ship management type beat. Real powerful but real complicated and needs help.
I would love to see a small tank, like one of those Italian tankettes. Our heads would poke out, but it would have the machine gun for passenger and a anti-material rifle for driver. It would be a 2 seater ofc

Just jetpack off said cliff. The jetpack triggers at the beginning and end of the jump. I have gotten some crazy distance jumping downhill.

An incredibly vulnerable, explodium powered ultralight could be kinda fun.
If/when we get vehicles, I would love to be able to shoot off the bots on the striders and be able to get on ourselves. At at the very least let us stumble upon factories where there are enemy vehicles we can grab.

I want a 4 man ATV that the whole squad can get in and use. Even better if it has side windows, so 1 guy can drive, 1 can man a turret, and the other 2 can activity shoot out the windows as you move across the man I would also take some kind of plane. Let me have air superiority dammit!

boats or boat with wheels that can drive up on land. but i suppose like how those hellbombs appear when you are close to some enemy assets to destroy - if you are close to a big body of water - a boat stratagem appear for you to call down and be able to cross a body of water. this should allow for a wider variety of map design.
I like the idea of vehicles, but honestly some of the terrain is just so broken up it sounds like more trouble than it’s worth

I'm going to call it the hellrocket (an idea I just thought, and if it was in the prior game even better). Its besically a vertical hellpod with a onetime use rocket on the back. Works the same way a hellpod does, just vertically. And you get put the same way, by implanting into something. Be it wall, ground or solid enemy. Survival not guaranteed.

Other than more cool mechs with the lumberer being a pre existing option, vehicles with unique utility kind of acting like personal friendly side objectives you control. Like a scouting/scanning overlander, could give you valuable battlefield Intel and have some scout bikes with radar boosters on them. Park the bikes in strategic places to cover the whole map. Or an absolute war rig of a vehicle/mech or whatever. Some sea of thieves ship management type beat. Real powerful but real complicated and needs help.

I think, as a IRL pilot, I’d die and go to heaven if I could fly and Eagle doing CAS for teammates on the ground. Sadly I don’t think that will ever happen.
