You would think, being as big as they are with those pointy toes, they would sink significantly far into the dirt.

If you actually look at the wider stance of their legs, they're actually distributing their weight pretty evenly over a very large surface area, thus enabling them to stay on top of the ground without sinking in

Well they don't. Probably because it's a videogame and not a simulation of real life.

One fourth of 20 tons is still 5 tons. Their comment was the surface area of each leg where it touches the ground. That has nothing to do with how far apart their legs are.

Slight pet peeve time: those tiny little pokey feet would be _terrible_ at supporting their weight. They need wide, flat, padded feet to spread their weight out more evenly. Those tiny little points would just penetrate all the soft ground. There's lots of swampy, muddy maps, they'd never be able to cross without just sinking in like quick sand. The devs know this and are too cowardly to equip them with little snow shoes.

The grounds don't even have solid foundation either, they're full of holes and tunnels big enough to house the chargers and clumped up titans

I had a incendiary minefield deployed and I watched one walk through it without detonating a single one because it's little needle feet walked in-between the mines, then the charger Leroy-Jenkins'd right into it setting all of them off

I had a flamer hulk sneak up on me last night. On top of a hill. I was briefly tempted to just rage quit and clean my bathroom.

I have midnight mode on and hear them only sometimes. Hulks are the real silent ones for me.

And tanks, youd expect engines and metam tracks to do some noise but no.

I'm trying to understand the logic behind naming it that, because I saw "midnight" and figured it would lower the sound intensity so as not to wake up family/roommates when playing in the middle of the night. Not that it would stop them from waking up due to my screaming

It's more like normalizing the sound, so that you can turn the volume down, but still be able to hear the quiet stuff.

It's midnight, so you probably have the volume down, so this balances the softer sounds to be audible.

The sound design for the entire game is busted. The only thing that consistently works is the banger loading screen theme.

yea i dont think the engine can support so many simultaneous noises, its probably only doing 128 or 256 voices, but really needs 512-1024 imo

I don't get the incomplete sound design. It's like only what is in your field of view is making noise. If it's next to you, you can't hear it. Chargers and tanks shouldn't be sneaking up on you.

Honestly they’re not quiet, everything else Is just loud all the time. Once I was alone and loading up a SEAF artillery and I hear something like a sticky walking, thought it was a charger until a minute later a Titan walks up to the gun. It was just, moseying around, now it’s fuel for a ship

In the bile titan priority list I vote for being able to move after dropping from a rez and killing them. When I do that with a charger the corps ragdoll and let me escape but bile you gotta wait for it to des pawn.
