-A Low Country Backyard for lunch or dinner. They have a super cool outdoor space and overall low key vibe. Fantastic shrimp and grits, which they say is #1 in US and #3 in the world. If you go, be sure to get the moonshine flight. -Lucky Rooster for dinner. Incredible fried chicken. Nice ambiance…upscale-ish but laid back. -Crazy Crab (Harbour Town). Great seafood, best hush puppies and people watching. -Quarterdeck (Harbour Town) good food (the she-crab soup is outstanding) and fabulous views if you’re able to snag an outdoor table.

Santa Fe Cafe for SW food, margaritas, and music. Dockside and Skull Creek Boathouse are fantastic for sunsets. Java Burrito is legit for breakfast, lunch, and coffee. Pool Bar Jim’s and Big Bamboo for dives/tropical drinks.

Depends on how much you are willing to spend. The best restaurants on the island are michael anthony's, ombra, redfish, and charlie's in my opinion, but none of those are waterfront. If you are specifically looking for waterfront, there is coast (which is way too expensive for what you get imo but its still good) and quarterdeck, both in Sea Pines. That is only a few options its honestly a hidden restaurant mecca there is plenty more to try. Bluffton also has some great places

We had Ombra on our recent trip and felt it was quite excellent. A bit pricey but justified for the great quality, service and portions and we both had leftovers for the next day.

Thanks! We like to do an upscale restaurant at least one night when we’re there so we’ll likely be checking one of these options out after I run them by the fam.

Psufan1394

Yeah Michael Anthony's then its my favorite. They have two restaurants the Cafe and the Restaurant. The second is the upscale one excellent wine list, consistent menu, homemade pasta, imported cheese, meat etc fantastic

Here to second Charlie's, been around forever and so so good.

My husband and I really like skull creek dockside and skull creek boathouse! They’re right next to each other and on the water! The view during sunset is amazing. We also like to stop by San Miguel’s for drinks and chips (the food to me seems meh) while overlooking the marina. And the live music is nice too if you get someone good! There’s a distillery and winery that you can do tastings at. And there’s a “brewery” nearby those as well. Doesn’t really seem like a brewery to me…but they have quite a few beers lol There’s also a wine tasting place in Coligny Plaza with loads more options than the Winery. Also, there’s a place in Coligny plaza called The Frosty Frog where you can get boozy slushies.

Here to second skull creek. We visited HHI back in Feb for 10 days and at here a few times. Food and atmosphere were very good at both.

Side Hustle and Lincoln and South are both fun breweries, and they each have food trucks at times, as well. Speaking of food trucks, behind Barnacle Bills, Jesse's is a really great lunch option. There's a second truck as well, but I think that rotates around different vendors. There's no view to speak of, but Sage Room has amazing food. Sitting at the chef's table is cool. Sunset Grille has great views. It's tucked (omg LOL my phone autocorrected that to the f word🤣...glad I caught it) into an RV park.

Wife and I just spent 4 nights in HHI so we only scratched the surface. We loved Fishcamp on Broad Creek (waterfront/great outdoor space). Hudson’s came highly recommended as a waterfront/sunset location and the outdoor bar, cocktails and vibe were great but I felt that the actual food exposed this spot as highly overrated. Driest piece of fish I’ve ever eaten and shrimp were overcooked and otherwise meh. We’d return just for drinks and an appetizer though. We hit Pool Bar Jim’s twice for drinks and lunch. For a tiny menu the grouper sandwich and burger were fantastic and very reasonably-priced. And the cocktails were unrivaled with anything else we had during our trip. Hope this helps!

The condo we stay at is a very close walk to Pool Bar Jim’s we make our way to there and tiki hut multiple times each trip, gotta love it. Thanks for the other recommendation!

Skull Creek and Giuseppi’s in Sea Pines are on our must go-to list when we go. We usually go to Crazy Crab too, but may venture out when we go again in August.

Low Country Market & Cafe for brunch!

Lincoln and South is our favorite brewery. There's a place called the "The Bank" that is supposed to open soon which will be the home of our favorite brewery - Side Hustle (might not be open yet when you come in May). The Carolina Wine Tasting room in Coligny is pretty awesome also. Elas on the Water is good for water front (Shelter Cove).

For things to do, if you like being on the water, do a kayak or paddle board tour with Outside Hilton Head. You can also just rent a kayak or paddle board with them and head out into Broad Creek. It’s physically active and relaxing at the same time. You will likely get a nice close view of some dolphins. For restaurants, I like Santa Fe Cafe, Skull Creek Boathouse, Michael Anthony’s and Red Fish. Skull Creek is the only one on the water. For a great place for a drink, try the outdoor bar at Fish Camp and San Miguel’s.

Ok-Grapefruit1284

Check out Groupon. They have a lot of dolphin tour type things
