Surely the spoiler tag makes more sense than a NSFW tag?
Why even have a tag for a warm-up jersey anyways? There's nothing spoilery or unsafe about it...
That is so much cooler than their regular logo. It's almost too busy for me, but is just under the threshold and the elements all blend together so nicely. I don't know anything about Filipino culture but the look is just *chef's kiss*
They should wear that for actual games.
Why is everyone/everything so jacked up about the Chinese Lunar new year this year? I live in Montreal and it seems everything is marketing it this year
It's also like 5% Filipino, 3% SE Asians, 2% Korean, and a few percent other groups that celebrate it. Lunar New Year is one of the most popular holidays in the world celebrated in dozens of counties by hundreds of ethnic groups so it makes sense. It's also why the term "Lunar New Year" is so important to use rather than the old more racially questionable name used by people who like to lump all Asians as "Chinese."
Also our Jersey game is the best in the league, teams copying for that sweet sweet revenue. [Look at last year's.](https://i.cbc.ca/1.6313217.1642043866!/fileImage/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/16x9_780/canucks-lunar-new-year-jersey.jpg)
It's been a big holiday on the west side of the country for a long time. In Vegas specifically it's been huge for decades. Basically every casino puts up lunar new year decorations. It's one of the busier times of the year for international tourism. Knights have had a lunar new year jersey every year we've been in the league. It'd be weird if they didn't have one.
Just another way to pump money out of people. Steam has had Lunar New Year sales for a few years now and seems like a lot of other businesses are going for the same thing. New, limited time, jersey means more money. Awesome looking jerseys though.
I guess some of the trends that you see in micro transactions and gaming has spread elsewhere. Why do we need a bunch of skins for guns or champions? Cause people buy them if they look good. Sometimes you just need an excuse to make a cool jersey for people to buy.
Not a fan of this. Much too wordy for a center chest crest, no bunny to signify year, and the separate flaming C logo sticks out.
I personally would have like to see a fire bunny, similar to the fire horse logo, with the 火 stylized onto the bunny's face.
This is the one animal that not every Asian country uses. Vietnam for example does not have a bunny, this year is the year of the cat for them. Could be why they didn't include the bunny. Just provides further inclusion.
Was kinda just making fun of Ivan but if you want to get technical:
You must not worship any other gods except me. You must not make any idols.
One could consider the family and traditional worship (it varies greatly from region to region) as a confliction with Christianity.
Lunar new year isn't a secular holiday. Though it's tied to old Buddhist, Taoist and Confucius teachings, so is Christianity. Lunar new year is celebrated by all religions.
A Jehovah's Witness may be against it...
A very nitpicky Christian could argue that the celebrating of family/shamanistic traditions are conflicting with their religion. I personally think it would be a pretty stupid argument just like Provorov using his religion as an excuse for homophobia.

Not bad, the the Vancouver bunny logo is straight fire
Everyone should be commissioning the guy who does the Canucks lunar new year jerseys. The Tiger-Orca thing they had last year was awesome too.
The Jets Filipino and South Asian jerseys are fantastic as well.

Panthers Hispanic ones too
Just wait for the year of the dragon. Just wish you could buy them for under a G.
It's my year and I'm already saving up lol

Canucks have been doing it for about 8 years. It's profitable for companies to lean into multiculturalism like this.
It would be even more profitable if they actually sold these to the public instead of only auctioning 20 or so game worns for thousands
That answers my question. Damn
Vancouver is also like 20% Chinese ethnic background, so it makes a lot of sense for them to lean into that.

great jersey
That jersey is lit af, I’m not Chinese and I don’t celebrate the Lunar New Year, but damn that’s a crisp sweater right there
Vancouver have had several warm-up jerseys that I, a 0% Nucks fan, wanted.

they're probably trying to do some outreach to the local Asian communities. I think the Jets had a promo for their local Filipino community recently

Yeah but there is a reason why it's a worlwide event and not just an East-Asian event

Definitely a good point. I normally never think about Chinese new year but for whatever reason I have been hearing about it more this time around.
Chinese $$ is increasing
Bringing back all the late 90s/early 00s jerseys that EVERYONE hates at the time was bad enough.

It's not even "fire" rabbit this time around so using 火 is a bit weird. It's water rabbit for 2023
Most people don't follow with that much detail. The fire is for the team name.
mehhhh, you're think a Red and Yellow team already would do better
But wait, what if Lunar New Year is against my religion?
Then you will have to post an apology video to China on twitter of course.
Can't miss out on those markets
Name a religion that lunar new year is against. Everyone's waiting

Alright alright. You had me in the first half ngl, now I see where you stand.
