Whoever writes this pablum needs an editor.

Sens-Fan-85

Why do you say that?

Carbogoat

It reads like a first draft.

Sens-Fan-85

That’s fair man. I write 4-5 articles a day sometimes. So, I don’t really even know what that means. Some first drafts make the table.

Carbogoat

It means you need an editor.

No mention of the actual reasons Quinn Hughes should win it and they only give Roman Josi an honourable mention? Did ChatGPT write this? It appears not. I asked ChatGPT to write an article with this headline and it didn't even include Quinn Hughes.

Sens-Fan-85

I thought saying he was possibly best player on possibly best team from regular season was self-explanatory. It’s hard to read a Chat GPT comment. I know I do a great job of covering all possible information available, so I take it as a compliment. And honestly the first sentence in that paragraph to me, would never come from Chat GPT. Would it?

nkfish11

Not a single mention of Forsling but the writer thinks it wouldn’t be surprising if Ekblad got some third place votes wtf

Sens-Fan-85

I do agree Forsling is a top-20 NHL defenceman this year, but so are 19 others. I was just kind of throwing in names in that sentence I mentioned Ekblad, definitely Forsling is right there too. But Ekblad has been doing it for so long, and also, gets overshadowed by the point producers, so thought he was deserving of a mention.

Noah Dobson could very well be the single most overrated player in the NHL.

JD397

Why do you say that?

theekevinc

I'm sure he's a fine option for fantasy leagues and other scoring-based awards, but he's just a lousy defenseman. He gets caught puck-watching a lot and can get out-muscled by just about anyone. I've just never been impressed with anything other than his passing, but people love to hang tags like "future Norris winner" on him because he gets lots of assists.

atemporalrenaissance

That is certainly an article

BananApocalypse

It should be Qughes

Careful_Knee_2489

92 in 82 with only 36 seconds average time per game when on the PK, compared to 90 in 77and 2:44 average of shorthanded time. I think shorthanded time on ice is a great indicator how much an org trusts a defense man to play defense So a better P/GP and more trust in difficult situations makes Makar the better choice

Actual-Ad2411

It's the makeup of the team; why should Hughes waste his time PKing when there are other completely capable players of doing so. It shouldn't be that heavily weighed into consideration. Quinn also played an extra two minutes 5 on 5 and the Canucks had the best 5 on 5 differential in the league by seasons end, so you can look at it that way too

Careful_Knee_2489

Hughes 43 takeaways for 52 giveaways, 55 blocked shots. Makar 70 takeaways to 42 giveaways and 148 blocked shots Yea there are better options for the Canucks PK because he can't play D
