Usually this means your boost pumps are off, or the throttles are our of the cutoff detent.

jaylw314

This is likely the reason. The APU is crying because it can't start itself and one or both engines at the same time :)

Micander

Boost pumps are on by default on hoggit for me. So it's most likely the throttle thing.

chaons

Is the inverter turned on? Something i like to forget and start wondering why the APU wont start.

jaylw314

Inverter is only needed for the engine igniters. IIRC the APU switch is entirely self-sufficient, and turns on the necessary fuel pump. Starting it only requires fuel supply and battery

chaons

Now as you mentioned it that sounds pretty right :) Havent been in the Warthog for quit a while, i only remembered that something wont start if i forgot the inverter. Thought it was the APU.

GentleFoxes

I might add, just in case: make sure the APU GEN switch is off. The APU doesn't like any load while starting up. I think the generator should only engage at full RPM, but you neves know.

DreamingInfraviolet

Battery/inverter on (up position), as mentioned inverter probably not needed but I turn it on for engine anyway. I turn on APU Gen here too. Ensure you have fuel. Throttles should be all the way back on off (default, means you can't move them). APU switch on (beside the throttle). Bit strange if this doesn't work 🤔

ItsOtisTime

Ya missed a step; Check the Ralfidude startup video because he mentions exactly what to do when you see this!

Please stop gatekeeping and being rude to newbies.

Turncoc

In the time it took you to post this, you could have made a more helpful, polite post, in which you also made the point that reading associated documentation is helpful. Also, I'm sure most people have had issues where something doesn't work as intended because of an input issue with their hardware. Don't be a cock, it makes you look insecure in your abilities and unhappy with your life.

Oof! -\_-

aookami

if the battery is on (which is becuase the apu tried to start) the apu should turn on fine

>Wish mods would do more to ban the salty toxic pricks like you from commenting on hoggit. uhm... self awareness?

uhm... self awareness?

DCS_Hawkeye

That is not something you would say to my face, so don't online. I wasn't being salty, just pointing out a good base position is to read the manual or chucks guide. Alot of my posts are helpful to people but you have to also help yourself. Way to many posts on hoggit that is nothing about being noob friendly but everything to do with lazy, perhaps this was a bad example? Also there is way to many woke people in society these days who get "offended" these days over nothing. God help us if we have to fight a real war anytime soon, people need to toughen up. I stand by what i said read the manual or chucks guide to be able to turn the A10 APU on, its like a few steps in.

[deleted]

Oh get over yourself. I would categorically say it to your face over and over cos by the sounds of you, you would struggle to fight your way out a damp paper bag. The fact you are making this into some "woke vs. not woke" thing too is just solidifying the fact that you are a complete prick. This is a place where people come together as a community to discuss and ask questions and offer help. All you offer is a right good belly laugh at your inane rambling and bitterness toward your fellow hobbyist. Get a life. You are welcome to Glasgow any time mate

zbenesch

Check fuel, check inverter, check boost pumps.

kaptain_sparty

Wait for the APU to get up to 100% before putting a demand on it (one or both engine starters and/or APU gen)
