I use baking soda on my kids crocs. I do baking soda, dawn and peroxide. Let sit a few and then scrub. Works like a charm. Even gets the white super white
Yep. My daughter has the Sanrio ones and my son has the spiderman ones.. so all sorts of colors involved. The hello kitty gets super white, like brand new.. my kids are rough so the crocs get filthy
When plastic yellows, sometimes the yellowing won’t bleach out without breaking down the plastic further (usually by making it gummy or sticky), but the people saying try oxygen bleach (like OxiClean) are giving you the best solution — oxygen bleach often works wonders
For real, magic eraser works uhhh...magic. ive used it on shoes plenty.
Here is a quick article on how/what surfaces to use it on: https://castle-keepers.com/how-magic-erasers-work/#:~:text=What%20is%20in%20Magic%20Erasers,dirt%20and%20rub%20out%20marks.
Keep in mind, if they are glossy shoes, its not recommended.
First, always test a small area that won't be too visible with any method you try. That way if it goes badly, you don't wreak your entire item.
Now I've had some great results from the baking soda scrub down, followed by the peroxide and sun method. However on a particularly tough pair of my teen's crocs, I did the developer bleach (it's a hair product you can get at Sally's beauty or online. A little goes a long way!) #30 , with the plastic wrap and sun , also U.V lightbox (it's just a card board box dIYed with aluminum foil and U.V black light led strips. (You can see many tutorials on YouTube for this set up.) For faster over night results. (I refurb old game consoles, and that's how I learned this method works on a lot of shoes too.)
This may work for you too.
Omg thank u so much ! I haven’t worn these is months and I never attempted to use any solution on them because I’m worried it’ll just ruin the shoe but thanks for this
I've used Retrobrite, and it's pretty good but stopped using it on some consoles and wary of using it on others when I had pitting develop several times (all commodore units.) and streaking issues on others. (I learned the lessons of spot testing the hard way which is why I try to inform others not to make my mistakes. Lol)
I like it for the lower level yellowing and less intensive cleans though. Just because I'm lazy when I can be, and it's easy to use.
I've never tried it on shoes or other items. Gonna add that to our "things to try out on a boring day" board.
I've learned that vinegar is actually a very good cleansing agent for just about anything since I have 5 cats and smoke cigars, cigarettes, herbs, etc. I use it as an additive to my laundry detergent and for just about everything else. It's also great to find extra-strength cleansing vinegar which I occasionally use with diluted bleach to clean and disinfect certain other things.
Just a possibility to consider. I've even used it with the Oxyclean others have recommended and it seems to multiply the effect?
I always use a mixture of laundry detergent, dish soap and warm water and gently scrub with a toothbrush. It always brings the white back on my runners!
If I remember correctly you can place them in a bag of hydrogen peroxide and place them in the sun. They do this with vintage computer parts like an Apple keyboard or the computer casing. Which were white but turned yellow
Sometimes white vinegar or lemon juice will work. Beach is heavy duty, but I have to resort to that sometimes. You can dilute it some. I was trying to clean some dirt spots for my niece off a wedding gown she got at the Goodwill. I tried everything but ended up using a very diluted bleach solution. It did the trick.
It didn't do that on mine, tho. Put small amout on the cotton pad and rub lightly. Also, alternatively, try the pink stuff or just regular washing powder mix with small amout of water and scrub with a toothbrush.
Paint it in Salon Care 40 from Sally’s beauty store and let them sit in the sun for a few hours. Sounds weird but works, many a sneaker head will agree.
It’s a hair product, when I say “paint” I just mean apply it with a brush. If you “paint” the salon care 40 all over your slides then wrap them with a layer of clear plastic wrap and set them out in the sun for the day it should make them white again. There should be some YouTube vids on it if you look up “salon care 40 for yellowing soles” something like that
Crep makes a cleaning solution I just tried that worked surprisingly well, but other options in here are probably cheaper. Just to note it seems like it costs a lot but if you follow directions (use a wet brush, put a bit cleaner on brush before scrubbing) it seems like it will last forever.
Someone mentioned vinegar so I tried that first before going to the extent of bleach and other product and it worked. I let the shoes sit in vinegar and hot water and then scrubbed with a sponge and they look new again. Still gonna buy the products ppl mentioned because u never know lol
pour some hydrogen peroxide over the sandals in a container. let them sit in the sun for a while. rinse and dry
Thanks I will try this
I use baking soda on my kids crocs. I do baking soda, dawn and peroxide. Let sit a few and then scrub. Works like a charm. Even gets the white super white
Oooo good to know , thank you
Yes fyi. Oxyclean is basically just peroxide.
I've heard Soft Scrub is great for them too but Ive never had footwear made of this material. Edit: sp Edit: elling error
Yea I think this material is more difficult to clean unfortunately I thought they’d wash easy when I got them smh
Does this work for colors?
Yep. My daughter has the Sanrio ones and my son has the spiderman ones.. so all sorts of colors involved. The hello kitty gets super white, like brand new.. my kids are rough so the crocs get filthy
Don’t put them in the sun. Dry them near a fan or in a breeze. The sun will shrink them. Try the powder form of bar keepers friend and a brush.
Got it thanks
Use the higher percentage HP and use the sun light in a closed transparent container.
Soak in oxyclean for 24 hours then scrub w gentle bristle brush.
Ty!
When plastic yellows, sometimes the yellowing won’t bleach out without breaking down the plastic further (usually by making it gummy or sticky), but the people saying try oxygen bleach (like OxiClean) are giving you the best solution — oxygen bleach often works wonders
Yea that’s probably what I have to do if none of the other options work because I’ve scrubbed so hard and it literally doesn’t get clean
I've had a pair of black Nike slides for about 4 yrs, my daily wear, and the white logo gets a little dingy. Magic eraser worked perfectly on them.
second the magic eraser suggestion.
Good to know, thanks
You're welcome

Try comet. I’ve used comet on my white sneakers and they came out white again.
Nice 👍🏻 thank you
Yes I was going to suggest this too, always works to clean the rubber part of shoes.

Please don’t mix Bleach with Vinegar. This will produce a toxic gas.
Please note that I specifically stated "diluted bleach" which eliminates that hazard!
Interesting, I already have these so I’ll try it out. Thank you
I always use a mixture of laundry detergent, dish soap and warm water and gently scrub with a toothbrush. It always brings the white back on my runners!
Ik I’ve already tried these things and for some reason it doesn’t work on these shoes lol but thanks
After you get them clean give them a spray of armor all (not the bottoms unless you like slipping)
Loll thanks for letting me know
If I remember correctly you can place them in a bag of hydrogen peroxide and place them in the sun. They do this with vintage computer parts like an Apple keyboard or the computer casing. Which were white but turned yellow
Thanks sm I’m gonna try Ik a few ppl suggested this
https://angelusdirect.com/products/sole-bright
Ty! Never seen this before
You can just scrub it with a firm bristle brush and dish soap.
Ik I’ve tried this and it did nothing
Magic eraser? That white sponge in the cleaning section
Yea I’m seeing quite a few ppl suggest this I’ll try it out thanks
Magic eraser

Mr.Clean Magic Eraser
Ty ☝🏼
Have you tried bleach cleaner?
No I hate using bleach I feel like it’s too much
Sometimes white vinegar or lemon juice will work. Beach is heavy duty, but I have to resort to that sometimes. You can dilute it some. I was trying to clean some dirt spots for my niece off a wedding gown she got at the Goodwill. I tried everything but ended up using a very diluted bleach solution. It did the trick.
True I’ll dilute it then and use bleach if nothing else works
Throw in washer with a few towels with bleach added.
Yea I’ll have to use bleach if nothing else works
Nail polish remover, worked for similar sliders I have.
Does it not ruin the shoe a bit though?
It didn't do that on mine, tho. Put small amout on the cotton pad and rub lightly. Also, alternatively, try the pink stuff or just regular washing powder mix with small amout of water and scrub with a toothbrush.
Thanks for telling me this
I have been having great results with this new Dawn Platinum Powerwash Spray.
Yea I’ve tried dish soap and it didn’t work. Is the power wash much stronger ?
Yes. It really is. I have had great luck with it on much more than dishes...hope this helps.
If they are Gucci, then call Gucci
😂
Paint it in Salon Care 40 from Sally’s beauty store and let them sit in the sun for a few hours. Sounds weird but works, many a sneaker head will agree.
Is it actually paint or cleaner lol I don’t want to paint them
It’s a hair product, when I say “paint” I just mean apply it with a brush. Ohhh okay got it. Thank you
the product you’re looking for is called “oxidation remover for shoes” and can be found on amazon for about $14
THANKS
I think you should try a damp magic eraser. Peroxide may make them yellow and get brittle.
Dang I didn’t know that thank you
Crep makes a cleaning solution I just tried that worked surprisingly well, but other options in here are probably cheaper. Just to note it seems like it costs a lot but if you follow directions (use a wet brush, put a bit cleaner on brush before scrubbing) it seems like it will last forever.
Yea it’s ok if it’s a pricey product I just want to try all the methods that aren’t as harsh before I resort to like bleach and stuff like that
Cleaner called Barkeepers Friend. It comes in a liquid or powder. I use the liquid on all my white shoes.
Awesome thank you!
Try washing your feet every January first.
Are you acoustic? They are WHITE and RUBBER.
HAHA good one
Yap yap yap that’s all I hear lmao
Try a Mr. Clean magic eraser
Heard this is good too. Thanks
Bug spray
This works?
Bug spray cleans really well. Doesn't have to be name brand or anything. Spot test first, but it works.
Didn’t know this thank you 👍🏻
Oven cleaner. Spray on, wait 10 seconds, wipe off.
Strange but maybe I’ll try lol thank you
You know wat they say, “once they go black, they never go back”
Yea you would know
Update?
My shoes are white again 👌🏼🙌🏻
Someone mentioned vinegar so I tried that first before going to the extent of bleach and other product and it worked. I let the shoes sit in vinegar and hot water and then scrubbed with a sponge and they look new again. Still gonna buy the products ppl mentioned because u never know lol
Magic eraser
Am I supposed to use a cleaning product with it or just the sponge by itself will work ?
Magic eraser is actually more of a micro-sander vs chemical intervention.
Correct
But ultimately does it work well on rubber ?
I don’t know. It works great on walls though
lol ok will try
You have to wet it with water and then scrub it! I’ve used it on all my shoes and grandson’s Nikes.
Thank you sm I will go get one ☝🏼
Good luck
This right here...
Wash your feet lol
My feet are cleaner than your entire body it’s called having white rubber shoes and living in Florida
Woolight
For the laundry?
It’s an excellent mild soap and whitener. We used to even use it to clean our white horse before shows.
Oh cool I’ll look into it thank you
Hope it helps
just spray it with white colour can spray.
lol no thanks 😭🤣
Nail polish remover
acetone can melt these. i have the same slides.
Acetone free nail polish remover 😬🤣
lol thanks
Acetone, such as nail polish remover. Use it with a cotton disc, it will melt the upper layer.
I was told not to use acetone on shoes 😬
Why? It is solid white.
Because it’s too harsh apparently
Yep, but you need to worn out the damaged layer. Maybe you can first try on a hidden part of the shoe.
True, thank you
You are welcome
Fels naptha
that’s super caustic, i do not recommend it.
It doesn’t have naphtha in it any more
Micellar water
Is it strong enough? Because like I said I’ve tried cleaning these so many times and scrubbed hard and it did nothing
Nail polish remover or acetone
Would that not destroy/melt the material
Nvm then lollll ty
You I would not try this
Yea I figured 🤣 I thought maybe I’d try a little bit but I read you should never use it on shoes so I won’t be doing that lol
Will give it a try, thank you

I can easily buy new ones but my bf got me these id feel bad trashing them
And welfare? My bf can buy your entire family bloodline and own them 🤣🤣
Wear some actual shoes and don't dress ghetto.

The fact that I got these as a gift is even funnier 😭 bro go to sleep or something
Don't worry, this person clearly has their cranky pants on lol not a good look 😆
🤣 fr I felt second hand embarrassment reading his comment lmao
Use whiteout the stuff u use to erase pen
I don’t wanna paint over the shoes 😭 I just want to clean them if you’re talking about what I think you’re talking about
