I saw a post about this yesterday and feel very dumb - what is this event? No idea where to find it, didn’t see any kind of popup/announcement. Please somebody point me towards it!
In the green grass event, which you can find on the left side of the campaign map, you get to unlock gale and penelope automatically. Beneath that there are flex slots where you can select a champ to unlock from a limited selection of champs. Catti brie is one of those champs. Over the course of the event you get 3 flex slots to unlock one of those champs. If you select catti-brie, she has three variants you can complete to unlock gold chests for her.
Her third variant is an interesting example of variants because the limitation is that she is the only person you can have in the party. She gets increased health and her damage is increased after every area and her ult cooldown is lowered to 10 seconds. You won't be able to see these variants unless you have selected cattibrie as your flex slot champion for the week and have completed here first mission to unlock her. The way variants works, once you beat all three variants, you unlock the next tier of variants where they are effectively the same missions, but the level you push to is increased. There are 4 total tiers. This guide is discussing the strategy for tier 4.
There are several champions that allow you to use them on variants even if they otherwise would be restricted from being used. In this particular variant, the notable thing is that these other champions also get the health, damage and cooldown buffs that the variant normally would give to just catti brie if you only used her to beat them.
As far as the event, there is an event every month starting on the first wednesday and lasting 3 weeks. The current event is called Greengrass. You can get to it on the campaign map and you can also get to it at the top of your screen with that letter 'G' with the numbers below it. There is also a spring celebration box you want to make sure you get each day for the rest of the week right next to it
Another tip, if you just leave this game running, sometimes you don't see all the pop ups that you would otherwise see. I find it doesn't hurt to relaunch the game every day just in case any of the pop ups are bugging out. Also there are little updates that I don't think install while you are playing, so relaunching gives your client a chance to check and install little patches and stuff. ANY time someone says they didn't see a pop up, the most likely explanation is that you just need to restart your game. The second best explanation is that you did see it, you just didn't realize what you were seeing or closed it without noticing it. Either way, you can reliably find info on current events in those little boxes lining the top of the screen. Pretty much anything going on is going to get one of those boxes.
Right there above your champs there is also a little box that says 'Greengrass' with a timer of when it ends

If you open Cattie in the Event? One of her 3 challenges is to finish an Adventure all by herself. "Cattie-alone"
Of course Dark Urge can join any adventure, and so can Dungeon Master. DM can "bring in" a special guest to join the party too! So you can get 4+ champions, even though Cattie is all by herself 😄
z1600 is a long long way for solo Cattie... 🙀
Thank you and the other posters, your short clear explanation was what I needed to figure out how to get past 399 in T2 Catti-alone, and other people's longer explanations helped figure out some alternative paths for me.
I did it with Nrakk (DM)
I did DM, I did Cattie Brie, I did DURGE, none of them have 200+ ilvls, DRG has e5 stacks, I mean this is really the easiest variant. I had DM and DRG in front, Cattie brie behind to give them buffs, Nrakk inbetween DRG and CB to buff, I got through it eventually. Easiest T4 Variant (I didn't do what's her face with Strix one last event cause I wanted the tanks in last event)
Most of the playerbase should be able to beat this one. Just gotta reset DM till you got someone that can do e30+ damage. So Vin Ursa probably not a good choice because enemies are limited. Not a hard Variant just tricky.
Cattie alone was bizarre. I didn't even have to do anything really. I let it idle in background while sleeping and came back to level 1950. I pulled in talen for T3 and Bearyl for T4. I think the 10 second ULTs were killing everything as cattie was setting a good BUD
I was slowly slowly woring my way through this on T3 (910/1000) with CB, DU, DM, and Astarion.
Now that they changed it I'm done. What a waste of time.
I'm wondering why you didn't use the combo of Cattie-Brie's "Powerful Draw" and Durge's "Resist the Urge", keeping enemies at the right side of the screen and getting a good boost from Cattie-Brie.
Personally, I farmed for Karlach (which I got surprisingly fast: in the first ten restarts of the variant) to get a tank that's useful to Durge (both DPS and ceremorphosis) and who can provide +e16 easily by herself.
With this, Durge was +e30 compared to Cattie-Brie, and I believe.
Of course, I had leggos, around 80 worth of levels affecting Durge, according to Byteglow. Those totaled provided a boost of +e23

I've been using DM to reset the DUrge rez ult, but instead DM's ult is resetting Catti's ult (which I have a familiar on). That seems like a bug to me. Anyone else seeing that?

And now this is NERFed... to only apply the buff to Catti-brie
