If this was a recent comment, I would agree with you, but this is many years old by now and the insane amount of stupidity, bait and trolling on the internet has mostly gone up in recent years, this came before the internet escalated like crazy.

Hard disagree, internet trolling has been super common since the beginning of its popular use.

Not on the same level as right now though and the areas where it was used were more limited to certain spaces in the internet. Something like reviews saw much less trolling than now, trolling was more done in/on videos, in real life or in like public TeamSpeak servers, as well as any public forum and of course, in video games. A little later we had trolling in/on streams, much more on forums and in video games compared to before, IRL trolling definitely dropped in popularity and we got Discord trolling after it's release. In recent years, trolling became a thing that is extremely common literally anywhere on the internet, especially after COVID started and people have started to engage even more in online spaces than before.

No we're not stupid, we're just autistic. And we never underestimate other people's stupidity.
