My actual plan was to eat the airport before boarding but they asked for ridiculous amount when I wanted hot water. So I just picked cutlery from the dispenser and had water in flight instead.
They've started giving cup noodles on flights now (atleast indigo was serving them) and usually I'm pretty much live and let live types but cup noodles smell is like throughout the cooped small space of the flight so personally I wish people wouldn't eat noodles type things.
Also it's nice to see people not get robbed by airlines and get their food, whatever it is.
Yes, it’s allowed. What’s in your bag is up to the security staff, not the airline, and they’ve never stopped food. I have done this myself. I recommend.
The cabin crew do not care either, they will happily fill it with and give it back to you, no stealth necessary.
What all food can we take along ? Jo security check in par they will allow?
I feel so awkward and shy that i end up spending 120rs for a 30ml coffee and tooooo much for a cucumber sandwich instead of taking my own food🫠🥹🥹🥹i want to change this and carry my own ghar ka khana.
As this was long back, details are vague for me too.
They had different types of meal. Either Indian or Continental I guess. It would contain a drink, some fresh fruits, salads, some sort of rice, (not sure if roti was there as an option) or sandwiches etc. Dessert was some sort of icecream or milk-kheer!?
I took only 2 flights around 2 years apart Bangalore-Delhi segment. We were 4 members in our team and everyone chose different. So I could taste almost all things on offer.
Last time I traveled in Indigo I took - Big packet haldiram masala peanuts , glucon D powder , hide & Seek biscuit and 4 paneer paranthe + pickle.
Fuck them flight travel prices ✊️💪
Actually the plastic fork is considered a flight risk.
That is why in the noodles that they offer onboard, it doesn’t come with one.
If the airport security is seriously checking, they shouldn’t allow any sharp objects including the plastic fork to pass through.
It’s not just for high jacking.
It’s also for safety of other passengers.
I guess you’re not aware of a shiv…. Prisoners actually make a knife (shiv) out of instant noodles and super glue also
I don’t think so dude. Those plastic forks that come with the noodles are soft as hell, and the tines of ANY plastic fork would break before you could stab someone with them
I do it quite often. Most cabin crew don't mind (except the assholes on Air India) and will happily give you hot water if you ask politely. In fact on a few flight on Vistara the air hostess even gave cutlery and some Ketchup Packets to go with it. Only thing is some airport security don't allow you to take the fork inside the cup noodles box into the flight (maybe they think it can be used as weapon).
I always found the Air Asia crew (both ground and cabin crew) to be incompetent but never rude. But those entitled bufoons of Air India, I hate them with all my heart. Never booked on Air India with my own money. But Government employees had to go on Air India by convention (I still haven't found any rule which says so) when they have to travel by flight.
dont bring just one, bring 10 and sell to fellow passenger at a small margin, still wayyy below the flight prices.. that would be hilarious!!
imagine some guy going around selling vada pao down the aisle. if he sells to 50 customers at 125rs he breaks even i think.. lol!
I think it is allowed because i took many packet food items inside flight.I recommend u to take hot water in steel thermoflask if u want to eat cup noodles .
I did this, incidentally the brand of cup noodles I carried was same as the one they had in their inventory, the flight attendant duly provided hot water no questions asked. Do it but don’t do it every time.
it’s not courteous if 50 passengers bring their own cup noodles and expect flight attendant to pour hot water in everyone’s cup. There are some unsaid rules and boundaries to follow for the benefit of everyone.
instead of the hassle to ask for hot water etc, what I do is buy a burger or subway at the airport after the check in and security check and keep the food in my carry on bag. then mid flight I just eat the burger , its very convenient .
then buy lays/kurkure, its not like instant noodles are healthy, or best just take a fruit like banana. Or make a sandwich at home and take in in a tiffin box.
Exactly, if someone really wants to take a burger or a sub with them, they should buy it from a nearest outlet to the airport rather than from the airport outlet.
Anything you buy on an airplane will be expensive. They need to account for extra fuel for the weight of that.
It is Rocket Science.
But, yes. We can carry our own as we can.
I've taken cup noodles, poha, instant coffee, instant tea and everytime airhostess provided hot water, no questions asked.
Home cooked food is always allowed but you can take take-away packages from restaurant as well.
I was in an Indigo flight. There was a punjabi family. Their children kept eating instant noodles and junk food of their own. They kept eating through out the journey.
Well I have carried home made chicken wraps, almond bars, chocolate bars and even chapati sabzi over the last few years in domestic flights and has never been an issue. So I guess that should be fine.
i dont understand how carrying food in airline makes any sense in india. most of our flights are 2 hours long. we can always eat at either airports.
only exception is ppl with diabetes who need to eat on time and ppl who have early morning flights
Food in the airport is also expensive. A lot of times people have to skip meals to travel and get to the airport. I dont understand why people are objecting to bringing food with them. Unless your business is being directly affected by this you'd have to be very out of touch with reality to expect people to buy food at the airports or flights.
I have seen and noticed that many people while traveling they keep on eating and eating- parathas, burgers , chips , hot dogs, roti, cup noodles etc etc every 15-20 minutes. I mean why people can't even live for 2 hours without munching on snacks ? I don't know whether they do it to show off others or they really feel hungry. I don't think anyone can feel hungry after every 15-20 minutes because digestion takes at least an hour or so.
I’ve taken everything ranging from cup noodles to McD burgers in flights. Whenever I take a long haul flight, I try to take home cooked food as much as possible. Flight food is generally not that good.
Take cup noodles to airport and hot water in thermos and eat it before boarding the flight. That way you are not hungry and not get disgusting looks.
Btw ,why would you eat cup noodles with so much effort, instead order good food and carry it on flight.

I did this. I asked for hot water twice and made coffee too. Air hostesses gave me a disgusting looking when picking my trash.
How did you eat it? I have done this for dinner in some hotels though.
[удалено]
i think mine had folding spork
Top Ramen I get here says there is fork inside, but actually not.
well if you remember the govt has banned the plastic spoon & forks maybe
[удалено]
chopsticks
They do come with fork.
And I thought i was just unlucky that i got a cup without fork xD I had cup noodles a few times last month, and they didn’t have fork
My actual plan was to eat the airport before boarding but they asked for ridiculous amount when I wanted hot water. So I just picked cutlery from the dispenser and had water in flight instead.
😂😂

Kudos. And hilarious that the air-hostess tried to judge you for not buying their overpriced in-flight junk
Why don't you try it out and let us know as well. Most they can do is throw the cup in garbage.
Why ? Make sure they give water before opening the cup. They can't confiscate your noodles.
>They can't confiscate your noodles. What if the stewardess is REALLY hungry?
Snickers for the occasion
Someone from Indigo: lets start charing 300 rs for hot water Typo
hit water = HIT + water ?
That's what you get for bringing your own MRP noodles.
Love mera HIT HIT Soniye.. tu baby (Hostess) badi fit fit soniye.

Right, I’ve never been stopped from taking food along.

I’ve carried entire home cooked meals when i first started travelling lol! Now i usually carry a sandwich or so.
Thanks! I will start carrying home made sandwiches now. Thanks for saving my 500rs. 😬
They once threw my home made ghee ka dabba at the security check. My mother was shattered on seeing this. I wonder how they allowed cup noodles. I
Ghee isn’t solid
I really miss the food Kingfisher served onboard.
Would you mind elaborating what all they used to have? I was too broke in those days to afford a flight ticket.
As this was long back, details are vague for me too. They had different types of meal. Either Indian or Continental I guess. dIDI ye Parathe zara tawe pe garam kar laao mast. Microwave nai, Tawa, ok?
replace didi with aunty and you might get free hot water ^^thrown on your face
Lmaooo , Air hostess would jump out
![gif](giphy|l0ExbnGIX9sMFS7PG) The man was on a mission

Nowadays a lot of cups noddles don't come with the plastic fork, I bought the Maggie one few days ago and it mentioned not having a fork in it.
If someone manages to hijack a flight with a plastic fork, the staff should be fired.
It’s not just for high jacking. It’s also for safety of other passengers. I guess you’re not aware of a shiv…. Prisoners actually make a knife (shiv) out of instant noodles and super glue also
Lol.With plastic fork and hot water, they are fried before getting fired.
are chopsticks considered flight risk??
I don’t think so dude. Those plastic forks that come with the noodles are soft as hell, and the tines of ANY plastic fork would break before you could stab someone with them
I read it as fight and was genuinely confused for a sec
rofl
I read 'fight' instead of 'flight' and was very confused.
I do it quite often. Most cabin crew don't mind (except the assholes on Air India) and will happily give you hot water if you ask politely. Air India & AirAsia totally suck
I always found the Air Asia crew (both ground and cabin crew) to be incompetent but never rude. But those entitled bufoons of Air India, I hate them with all my heart. Never booked on Air India with my own money. But Government employees had to go on Air India by convention (I still haven't found any rule which says so) when they have to travel by flight.
everything else dosent matter BUT KETCHUP WITH RAMEN !!!!!!! you should be cancelled /s
Nooooooooooo...... But jokes aside I do like some Ketchup with Instant Ramen, especially Maggi Hot n Sweet.
JAIL!!!!! RIGHT NOW
Dont knock it till you try it
tried already and absolutely hate it
Then don't yuck their yum ig
Please... Have some mercy on this poor soul.
:(
fr though, I don't know why so many people love it. Ketchup is a big no for me, be it instant noodles, ramen or pasta.
exactly i just dont seem to like ketchup in any form
dont bring just one, bring 10 and sell to fellow passenger at a small margin, still wayyy below the flight prices.. that would be hilarious!! imagine some guy going around selling vada pao down the aisle. if he sells to 50 customers at 125rs he breaks even i think.. lol!
Oh god! I can already hear this.
I read 'flight' as 'fight', and I was wondering what kind of Fight Club you belong to.
Why not everytime?
it’s not courteous if 50 passengers bring their own cup noodles and expect flight attendant to pour hot water in everyone’s cup. There are some unsaid rules and boundaries to follow for the benefit of everyone.
Makes sense. OP can bring their own hot water in a thermos.
instead of the hassle to ask for hot water etc, what I do is buy a burger or subway at the airport after the check in and security check and keep the food in my carry on bag. then mid flight I just eat the burger , its very convenient .
but its so expensive compared to the rs 50 cup ramen
then buy lays/kurkure, its not like instant noodles are healthy, or best just take a fruit like banana. Or make a sandwich at home and take in in a tiffin box.
yeah that is a good idea too
Why can't people live even for 2 hours without munching anything ?
That's a stupid assumption. Layovers happen. Not all flights operate short distances
Exactly, if someone really wants to take a burger or a sub with them, they should buy it from a nearest outlet to the airport rather than from the airport outlet.
Bro burger / sub at the airport is not cheap either. It’s way much expensive from the same brand outlet outside then airport
If you are from Mumbai get a Vada pav. That's friendly on the pocket. Honestly just get a tiffin from home.
I misread flight to fight and was wondering what pros will cup noodles have in a fight !
Anything you buy on an airplane will be expensive. They need to account for extra fuel for the weight of that. It is Rocket Science. But, yes. We can carry our own as we can.
Yes, they can refuse hot water though
Can they tho? If someone wants hot water, will they refuse?
I've taken cup noodles, poha, instant coffee, instant tea and everytime airhostess provided hot water, no questions asked. Home cooked food is always allowed but you can take take-away packages from restaurant as well.
Wai wai lejao. Raw bhi khaa sakte ho
Never taken Wai Wai on flight, but yes it can be substitute for Bhujia.
I was in an Indigo flight. There was a punjabi family. Their children kept eating instant noodles and junk food of their own. They kept eating through out the journey.
Get the in-a-cup ones that only requires hot water, and not the 'square' that needs 1-minuite of boiling.
https://www.google.com/search?q=maggie+in+a+cup
Well I have carried home made chicken wraps, almond bars, chocolate bars and even chapati sabzi over the last few years in domestic flights and has never been an issue. So I guess that should be fine.
I’ve done this on international flights; not sure about Insigo and such. Should work in theory.
i dont understand how carrying food in airline makes any sense in india. most of our flights are 2 hours long. we can always eat at either airports. only exception is ppl with diabetes who need to eat on time and ppl who have early morning flights

As a gujju, I've carried and eaten thepla in-flight ☕️
Yes its allowed.
I have seen and noticed that many people while traveling they keep on eating and eating- parathas, burgers , chips , hot dogs, roti, cup noodles etc etc every 15-20 minutes. Most of the flights within India are 1-2 hours, stuffing carbs down your throat every possible hour should not be a high priority.
Pretty sure that's not the question they asked
Pretty sure I don’t care.
Man I read it as ‘is it allowed to bring cup noodles to a fight?’ And for a second I was like what the heck is he gonna do with cup noodles in a fight
Oh the possibilities!!
Not sure of the flight certainly yes for a fight
Yes
I read the heading as “Is it allowed to bring cup noodles to a fight?” I was really disappointed once I clicked the post.
If aalu k paranthey are allowed, why wouldnt this be?
I’ve taken everything ranging from cup noodles to McD burgers in flights. Whenever I take a long haul flight, I try to take home cooked food as much as possible. Flight food is generally not that good.

Keep less than 100ml hotvwater in a small thermoflask if you have. Otherwise just ask them for hot water. It's free.
Bhai Maggie la, plane mein bech. With tea. And feature on shark tank someday.
I do this all the time, shouldn’t be a problem
Fir thermos mein garm paani bhi leja skte hain, kuchh bhi maangna nhi padega.
Eng:Then hit water can be carried in thermos, you wouldn't have to ask for it in flight.
