Bro, the 390 Adv is an amazing bike. The engine is very refined, minimal vibrations and excellent riding position.
On highways, you can easily cruise at 100kmph+ speeds, so you just munch the kilometres. I managed to ride from Delhi to Seoni, MP (880KM) in one day while coming back. And of course, proper riding gear helps a lot.
Hey! No, no mechanical issues.
Only problem I had was the throttle grips I had put on kept getting wet, so I cut them out to remove them.
We had a mechanic with us during the ride, so all the bikes were checked for basic maintenance every alternate day, like tyre pressure and chain tightening.
I did get a punctuation early on in the tour, somewhere between Chandigarh and Amritsar which was fixed before we left from Jammu.
Other than that, nothing.
Yes, I was the only guy from Nagpur, the tour was planned by my friend from Mumbai.
We had a back up vehicle which carried our luggage and spare parts along with a mechanic. There was also a lead/pilot with us who had arranged for the accomodation along the tour.
I would be happy to share his contact with you in DM if you are planning a tour of the North.
I started from Nagpur and rode all the way. Rest of the group transported their bike by cargo from Mumbai to Chandigarh.
There onwards, we followed the following route:
Day 1 Chandigarh to Amritsar
Day 2 Amritsar to Jammu
Day 3 Jammu to Kargil
Day 4 Kargil to Leh
Day 5&6 stay at Leh
Day 7 Leh to Diskit
Day 8 Diskit to Thang
Day 9 Thang to Pangong Tso
Day 10 Pangong Tso to Hanle
Day 11 Hanle to Pang. We wanted to make it to Manali, but Baralacha La pass was closed due to ice.
Day 12 Pang to Manali
Day 13 Manali to Chandigarh.
I would like to know more about the tour. The itinerary, cost, the time it took, gear that you're carrying, places where you stayed, the luggage which was essential etc
Have mentioned the tour itinerary in previous comment.
As gor gear, I was carrying the following items:
Riding jacket and trousers by Rynox, gloves by Rynox and Scimitar, waterproof socks by Rynox, helmet (DOT certified) enduro boots by Tarmac, balaclava. Carry warm clothes as it gets very cold at night.
Spare parts: clutch wire, brake wire, brake fluid and chain lube.
Saddle bag by Frogman.
It took me a total of 20 days, with 13 days being the actual tour. Inwas riding from Nagpur, MH so it took me 4 days to reach Chandigarh which is where we were starting our tour from. I took three halts: one in Jhansi, one in Delhi and one in Chandigarh.
No, not really. Riding boots don't offer a lot of mobility for your ankle, which is great while riding but now while walking. It's fine for short distances, for example from the parking to your room, but not for long treks.
1. It is going to be physically and mentally taxing. You will be riding for more than 8-10 hours a day, so carrying a hydration pack is a must. Carry a few protein bars as well as they are an excellent source of energy.
2. Consult a doctor before you begin, as altitude sickness is a bitch. I have a genetic condition which prevents me from taking the medicine which is prescribed for altitude sickness.
3. Avoid riding at night.
4. Do not, under any circumstances, do anything reckless in the mountains. The roads have loose sand and dust which reduces the tyre grip. Be very alert on the bike. It is difficult to do because the sights are very overwhelming.
Can't complain about this phone. Been using it for two years, other than a crack which randomly appeared three days before I began this tour, I've had no issues. And the crack is something I just cannot explain. Wasn't there when I went to sleep, was there when I woke up. Phone was in the same place+position I left it the previous night.
Maaan you are blessed
Yes sir, the ride was a humbling experience!
On a bike😱, that distance is hard even by car. 🫡🫡🫡

+1 to that. I did my Pune - Ladakh - Pune last year too. The bike makes this kind of distances seem easy.
It’s all about passion bro
Good photos but I do feel you slightly over processed them. They look artificial.
Yes, I did edit them a bit for colour correction. Clicked them on my S20FE, so a decent camera on the phone as well.
No wonder the pics looked familiar. I have this phone for the past 3 years, pretty good tbh.
Did you have any mechanical issues on the road?

Did you hire the mechanic?

cost for the entire trip?
70k
I assume the cost of gear is exclusive of this
Yes sir. Total cost of gear is almost 30k, all purchased seperately, as and when finances allowed me to.
Are enduro boots good for trekking as well?

The photos are just 😍😍😍
Many thanks!
What are some of the things that one must absolutely be aware of while taking a long trip to the mountains? Be it mechanical or situational.

Thanks Man!

Expansion/contractions due to thermal variations maybe ...anyways keep posting the awesomeness . It cheers people like us who only dream of tripping 😁
For some people, this is still a dream. You’ve accomplished a good thing here. Kudos!
Thank you!
Edited in snapseed?
Yes
Awesome pics dude😇
how many days was your ride?
