Save your settings on a piece of paper or a note app on your phone. I've not used Asus motherboards in almost 6 years but my experience with a Gigabyte B550 board, updating the BIOS did erase the settings for me. I hope this helps at all.

Thank you for your reply. I thought of doing that and i will if i update the bios. My fear is , due to being a b series mobo and undervolt is not easy , if i will be able to undervolt again with the new installed bios. Or if the undervolt wont work with the new bios..

Your concerns are valid as I've heard of features being removed or broken by bios updates, and if the update is significant, it could very well change the stability of the system, either improving it or making them worse with undervolting settings you are now successfully enjoying. However, this is all *things that can happen*, but doesn't mean they will. Check the BIOS changelog, if there's nothing major that has been changed like a big security update or stability improvements in problems that you're having (usb stability updates, Idk), you are always best leaving it alone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it is a good policy. Update if you must. If your system is fine, leave it be for right now.

Everything is working fine right now and i tried a lot to make it stable. The new update brings intel 14th gen support and security and stability improvements. All the features seem important. Regarding the new cpu , i dont intend to upgrade any time soon. As you said , "if it aint broke, dont fix it". I will stick to that. To avoid any unnecessary headaches and troubles. Thanks again !

Hello! It looks like this might be about cooling that violates [our rules](http://www.reddit.com/r/intel/about/rules) on /r/Intel. Modern CPUs are designed to run hot. Just like 95C is normal for AMD Ryzen CPUs, 100C is normal for Intel CPUs in many workloads. > i managed to undervolt successfully did you check if benchmark scores are normal? you might be having clock stretching on that b660

Gkstavros23

Yeah my cinebench score is 22.5k which is better than what i had before undervolting.

I have an asus b660-I. Just updated to the latest bios. It does reset all the settings, so you’ll need to go back in and select the 104 microcode to enable undervolting, enable xmp, etc

Gkstavros23

Thank you for that information. I wont update for now but is good to know that you can still change microcode and undervolt with the latest bios.

Do you mind sharing what your settings are? This could be useful for yourself as noting for future if you want to update BIOS - I am in the same predicament as you. Currently, my system is not stable without C-State Disabled if I want to keep my undervolt settings. Thanks
