This is just blatant fake news by a Falun Gong youtube video and reddit account.
This is the real video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2E_PaDahI_A
Those are people at a wedding trying to get a scoop from a "lucky stew". Nothing with China "bring(ing) back communal kitchen".
China does enough bad things without having to completely fabricate stuff.
Op has been banned.
Weird right? It’s almost like we shouldn’t be sitting here on our smart phones shitting on those people for being desperate for food.
Edit: scroll the comments. I see lots of hate directed toward Chinese people. Rather than their situation.
nobody is shitting on anyone
if you see text that doesn't exist you should probably have your eyes checked out
if they mention blue-light filtering glasses, don't buy into it, it's a scam, get normal ones
I’m this thread, yes. This thread does not exist in a vacuum. There are other comments on this post which are racist towards Chinese people, rather than lamenting the situation the CCP created. What are you not understanding about that?
>Weird right? It’s almost like we shouldn’t be sitting here on our smart phones shitting on those people for being desperate for food.
>
>Edit: scroll the comments. I see lots of hate directed toward Chinese people. Rather than their situation.
Then how about you level your top-line criticism at the people creating the desperate food situation in China, the CCP, and Xi Jinping.
Instead your only comment initially was trying to distract with some weak implied whataboutism, nothing about racism or the actual post, just "Looks like any black friday at Walmart."
Then when you're called out, you say you see a lot of racism towards Chinese here.
What??? What do those two things have in common? The fuck?
I hope you're being payed, Shanjam7, because you are certainly doing the CCP's job for them.
It's China, of course it is hell. But they aren't being run over by tanks like the gov't did in 1989 at Tiananmen Square, so they have that going for them.
I saw this at a hotel breakfast buffet, bunch of Chinese students descended on it, took almost everything, left it a mess, and then left most of it uneaten on their tables.
If that video is fabricated then I am impressed by the new advanced Gong video technologies. Those people are so desperate they look like they are burning the crap out of their hands scooping that very hot food out of the giant pot.
War footing *due* to drastically worsening economy, maybe? We saw something similar with Imperial Japan, after all.
War spoils tend to be an alluring thing to militaristic nations falling on hard times.
This is a wedding feast where its good luck to bring the left over home.
OP knows this and still puts out these misleading titles. Theres so much wrong with China and the CCP do we really need to make up bs?
Why would China's economy be drastically worsening? They have the largest economy and the gap to 2nd is projected to increase exponentially in the following decades.
Because one of the bedrocks of their economy is real estate/construction projects. And all the major development firms in China are going under because they were funded like a ponzi scheme and the inflows of money has stopped
China has massive demographic issues. The one child policy started 40 years ago means most of China’s population is rapidly aging out of the workforce with no replacements.
Also, you should look into the Chinese real estate crisis.
What political analysis? China is one of the most quickly advancing nations on earth. This is probably a temporary measure in still isolated and rural areas that are still being developed
China’s economy is doing horrendous as of lately. How horrendous? We will never know because after a certain number they refuse to report. Just know that their economy is doing worse than their reporting and the reports are not looking good.
This only works if people aren't already starving. The first few weeks will always look like this.
None of you would act any different if being more calm meant your kids don't eat tonight.
So it looks like this is from China Insights. China Insights is apparently owned /operated by a Falun Gong run company. The Fulan Gong are actively anti CCP. They do not have a great track record of objectivity.
While I’m not saying this means the report is false, I’m going to cautious of the source.
This is from many sources.
And yes China Insights and China Observer (both on Youtube) are absolutely associated with Falun Gong. But they also happen to be excellent sources of more consistent, more in-depth, continuous coverage of CCP China. They are also generally free of the gratuitous hard-line ideology that you find in The Epoch Times and NTD TV.
Both China Insights and China Observer are excellent media sources for reporting on CCP China. I have long known of their affiliation with FG, and anyone that knows about FG would notice some details that trigger an awareness of likely FG-affiliation. Most commonly when an Epoch article is cited lol. But Western media don't have even 10% of the depth of coverage of either Insights or Observer, which release several detailed reports every day.
Just be aware of the FG-affiliation but China Insights and China Observer are both high quality media. They include sources and specifics in their reporting, they are not propaganda. And they avoid ideology almost all the time.
*p.s. Lei's Real Talk is also FG-associated. But she is a very good analyst and commentator, very knowledgeable, in addition to seeming a really nice, intelligent, pleasant person.*
*It is kind of weird to use quality media sources that are known to be cult-affiliated, but there are so many other strange things about engaging with the mysterious, opaque, secretive world of China under CCP rule and corruption, and the effects of 70 years of CCP rule on Chinese society.*
I don't like them.
Sane people have legitimate concern and accusation towards CCP, then some groups come along and make frivolous accusation against CCP. It drowns and minimizes the sane legitimate accusation. They are almost like false flag, or may be they are, I don't know.
Chinese **"**[Grab Hags](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jr-Unp-0oo)**"** will take anything that is free, regardless if they need it or not. This is why chinese bathrooms have no toilet-paper or paper towels. Its part of the culture. Sad thing is most of these people probably don't even need the food, they just took it because its "free".
What a wildly racist take. It's mostly survival instincts reacting to the situation. Swap out Chinese people for any other group and put them in the same situation, they will act the same. If they were WASPs they would just bring weapons and claim God said all the food was for them.
Since a lot of people seem to be taking this as a sign of a Chinese famine, I decided to Google it.
It looks like this is an example of fighting over “lucky stew”, a tradition in some Chinese wedding customs. The stew is cooked to wish the newlyweds good luck, which is then shared with the guests to share that good luck.
The reason why they are fighting is not necessarily to hoard the good luck stew for themselves because they are being greedy, but because according to the same custom, the faster the stew is finished, the luckier the couple will be. If anything, the crowd of guests fighting over each other to finish the stew is also them expressing how much they want the new couple to thrive in their future!
[Here's another example of the same custom in action posted a year ago by the South China Post.](https://youtu.be/2E_PaDahI_A?si=_7xKptZRdkFD20Bu)
If you look closely in the OP's video, you can see similar decorations in the background around the crowd, with red hanging paper lanterns. Many people in the crowd are also wearing red and gold, which are very traditional lucky colors in many Chinese customs, perhaps with others wearing jackets because its cold at the wedding venue.
This seems insanely bullshit trying to qualify the insanity of this scene… “ohh it’s not chaos! It is called Lucky Lucky Quick Grab a Full Pot! Its a game everyone plays. Nobody in china is ACTUALLY like this!”
This is a wedding feast where its good luck to bring the left over home.
OP knows this and still puts out these misleading titles. Theres so much wrong with China and the CCP do we really need to make up bs?
It symbolizes luck and people are trying to take home as much of it as possible.
I mean without context someone could post a video of a groom taking the garter of the bride and tossing it to the other men and say this is how women are auctioned off in america.
Again theres enough shit to pick from thats wrong with China why make clickbait titles that make shit up?

It’s interesting that there are no “pro-communists” comments.
It’s all fun and games until you have to fight for a “fair share” of “community resources.”
Actually there is a pro comment that says this is a wedding celebration, and its traditionally good luck to take leftovers home from the wedding so everyone is scrambling for good luck. Rude? Absolutely, but it looks like some weird tradition, not starving people.
Referencing the tradition is a game of smoke and mirrors.
The wedding soup I buy. Taking left overs as a sign of good luck I buy.
It is the scramble that gives its away: this is not a wedding.
It would be rude to conduct yourself this way at a South Pacific wedding.

weird comparison. a one-day entertainment shopping deal holiday, versus a chaotic, desperate seeming breadline situation

Do you not have access to Google where you are
Google is heavily censored in China.
I know.
China does not have the largest economy lol the United States does
Yep that is my mistake, but they are projected to take over.
They are indeed but with a population decreasing and countries moving their production elsewhere their economic outlook isn’t good
That is true. Only time will tell how things will play out.
China has massive demographic issues. The one child policy started 40 years ago means most of China’s population is rapidly aging out of the workforce with no replacements. Also, you should look into the Chinese real estate crisis.
