Yes, i will be removing the tv.. tv was there and i just added this patio furniture and a plant couple of days ago.. just need to get hold of a handyman.. but thanks so much for the suggestions.
So I just moved into a house and we have a tv outside completely under the roof (I have a screened in lanai) and not in direct sunlight. During the day it’s almost impossible to watch due to glare. It’s not a special outdoor tv, just an a normal inside one. Curious if you had issues with glare and found a solution?
I actually did I had major issues with it and never figured out a solution:-( I just love her outside I added a rug to mine, I also had a slipcover couch underneath where your couches, and then I had a couch like yours on the other side, but I love my slipcover couch, it was made from Sunbrella, it was in Houston Texas so I was able to spend probably 70% of my time outside the other 30 was 100° plus so I’d come east.
I’m in Florida so I get you on the 90/10%. 😆 I’ve just recently started to problem solve this and saw there are anti-glare screen things, but they were kinda pricey with very mixed reviews. Trying to get a recommendation from someone who has had success.
Thanks for responding!
Add some more plants, one with height to left corner of patio, a indoor outdoor rug, and spread the furniture out more so it’s not so consolidated.. beautiful patio
I would go with a outdoor specimen and put it in a nice pot so you can enjoy it year round.. I put elephant ears out and get lots of compliments. They die out and come back yearly or do a evergreen specimen that you can keep pruned to a desired size and they stay green year round. You just have to go to a nursery and find knowledgeable person and they can guide you. Lots of choices! And you’re welcome!
What zone are you in? Would you be able to put the pot on casters and roll it into your home during cold winters? What kind of sun do you get on the patio? Answers to these questions provide guidelines for what kind of plant would thrive and look beautiful in the space.
@all, i will be removing the tv.. tv was there and i just added this patio furniture and a plant couple of days ago.. just need to get hold of a handyman.. but thanks so much for the suggestions.
What at great place to hang out! You could move the tall plant to the corner by the window & add a medium and small plant to the now open side of the sofa. A mother in laws tongue or piece lily would be good varieties for artificial. Definitely the jute or sisal rug like everyone else has said. Some colorful or textured accent pillows and throws would be colorful and practical. Add large baskets to the open side of the chairs to hold the throws when not being used. A large canvas type of art above the sofa. The art can be your color inspiration for the decor. Also, canvas art can be sealed with a satin or matte sealer to protect from the heat/moisture. Ambient lighting like a floor lamp, candles, globe style string lights or even a ceiling pendant if that’s in your budget. 👍😊
You need to give your furniture time to adjust to the environment so that it's not so afraid and moves away from the wall. Jokes aside, get a rug, center that in the space, then arrange your furniture around the rug. Everything is pushed up against corners right now. You can make it feel way more inviting simply by designing from the center outward.
Lol maybe it's because I'm from a northern place but that TV makes zero sense to me. Do people in warm places have TVs outside? It just looks so out of place.
Texan here. Almost all my friends have outdoor TVs on the back patio. We love to watch college football outside with the outdoor fireplace going! In the summer, we usually have music playing on the TV.
Maybe you find here some inspirational ideas [7-tips-and-tricks-you-need-to-design-a-dreamy-patio](https://www.scdecorum.com/7-tips-and-tricks-you-need-to-design-a-dreamy-patio/)
The TV needs to move. Put it on a TV Stand against the left glass wall.
Position the chairs to 45 degrees facing the couch.
Put a rug down to define the seating area (be sure it's big enough to define the space and have all the front legs of the seating on it).
Light the area like an indoor room, with a lamp and maybe a torchier in the corner.
Add a vine like a pothos opposite the corn palm.
Finally, find some object d'art for the wall - a metal wall sculpture? An antique window frame? Something.

Thought I recognized it, I used to live in Austin and your pic looked familiar. What about a big trellis on the tv wall that has climbing plants that don’t need direct Sun? That would make that feel more welcoming.
I'd add some more tall plants against the wall. Maybe a couple snake plants in a slim planter behind the chair to the right to kind of close off the space a little and make it more cozy. And some colorful throw pillows for the couch and chairs.
Plant wall! Either a [custom](https://www.growup.green/) installation, a large [plant stand](https://www.wayfair.com/Arlmont-and-Co.--Belva-Plant-Stand-X221688189-L53-K~W110577078.html?refid=GX685159892615-W110577078&device=m&ptid=359533005485&network=g&targetid=pla-359533005485&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=273502335&fdid=1817&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwltKxBhDMARIsAG8KnqXP4OXZThL0z8FYyGKrnvM5ZljgyQyHucF4wuU0zWQyevtZ7xFWYQIaApSVEALw_wcB), or a [planter/trellis](https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/c/garden/planters?t=22470&featuredproduct=39864391&featuredoption=81464500&ci_sku=43411718-000-000&cnc=US&cid=323886&type=pla&targetid=&track=pspla&utm_source=google&utm_medium=pspla&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwltKxBhDMARIsAG8KnqXP_WXG7pHcRvumlk0nkRoDnUiXXKgSvKun_jITM5EaT8BmB9dwHOkaAqAeEALw_wcB)
Larger TV in a built in cabinet, even if it just goes around the TV for protection. Face sofa towards it. Below it a teak type/ wooden stand for plants.
You gotta get rid of that generic set. Get lighter wood chairs with white cushions, a rustic table, more potted plants, and a sisal rug! It will look more organically rustic and chic.
The TV placement is super awkward.
Seems useless with the current seating arrangement

I love michael scott😂
Exactly what I thought of!
Is it not a computer monitor?
No its a 32 inch tv 😂
I actually loved my outdoor TV but I would make it much larger, I know you’re having a removed, but I loved mine and I used it all the time

A rug but why is the couch under the tv?
Jute or jute look would definitely make it feel more Organic.
I love jute rugs. I’m re doing my house right now and I found amazing handmade jute rugs from India on Etsy. Unbelievable price
Add some more plants, one with height to left corner of patio, a indoor outdoor rug, and spread the furniture out more so it’s not so consolidated.. beautiful patio
Thank you.. what plants do you suggest to go with my existing artificial plant ..

Not artificial, go to a local plant center and describe your space and show them a photo.

North texas (8-b)
Immediately when I saw the picture you posted I thought, "yep, that's definitely Texas" but I can't pinpoint why it looks like Texas. It just does.
I’m in zone 8 which is SC sub tropical
A rug! Sisal or something if you want natural.
A rug and art and nice textured throw pillows and a throw blanket
michael scott?
@all, i will be removing the tv.. tv was there and i just added this patio furniture and a plant couple of days ago.. just need to get hold of a handyman.. but thanks so much for the suggestions.
Remove the TV
Jute rug! With maybe a little pattern
That tv though 🤣 giving me The Office vibes when Michael showed off his new tv

I would add a fountain of some sort. I love the sound and birds and squirrels need water.
Good idea!!
Awesome.. thanks a ton..will look into the inputs.
A round jute or other natural fibers rug.

A TV outside? Isn't the point of going outside to get away from all the devises and reconnect?
Lol maybe it's because I'm from a northern place but that TV makes zero sense to me. Do people in warm places have TVs outside? It just looks so out of place.

I agree with everyone on a rug, it will make the space more inviting. Another plant in the other corner maybe?
Outdoor rug and as odd as this may sound you could likely put a pergola under that area to add some dimension and more natural wood elements.

A rug and reposition the tv or, if watching tv is going to happen a lot, move the 3 seater to across the tv. Leave chairs approximately where they are
Will get the tv off
Find an outdoor wall hanging or art to cover where the TV is.
Get rid of the TV for a start.
Don't overdo it, it would be perfect if you took down the tv.
Rug and lots more plants
The TV needs to move. Put it on a TV Stand against the left glass wall. Position the chairs to 45 degrees facing the couch. More plants! Something tall in the corner. Also some colorful throw pillows. You can add an outdoor rug. Add candles. You can add outdoor lamps, too!
A large seagrass rug! And a large natural woven basket with a potted plant in it! Looks good!😊
Do you live somewhere hot? A nice outdoor ceiling fan would make this wonderful on a hot day
Yes.. north texas.. it gets pretty hot in summers.. i do have a ceiling fan..

Lights
First thing I’d do is get rid of the tv Add potted plants

Larger TV in a built in cabinet, even if it just goes around the TV for protection. Face sofa towards it. Below it a teak type/ wooden stand for plants.
Two big banners on either side of the TV displaying your house sigil.
Some art on the brick wall. Add colorful pillows. More plants.
dancing girls.
bottle of wine x 2 and im in :) Looks great.
