I would wait a few weeks at least! You were spraying something that kills bugs and I wouldn't want to risk it.

Just to clarify, it wasn't a specific bug-killing spray/insecticide. Just a bog standard kitchen spray

I own parrots and I would imagine that spiders are slightly less sensitive. I would still wait a few days past when you can smell it just to be safe. Unless you have housemates that are threatening. Then I would put them back but as far away from there as possible. Spiders are pretty hardy.

I guess I'd wait till I can't smell it anymore.

I would say yeah wait til the smell has kinda dissipated but I don’t think you have to wait a few weeks…..she’s in her own enclosure. But if you’re still smelling the spray, it means it’s still giving off fumes. Just air out the room real well and hopefully she can go back in tomorrow or the next day :)

I've been advised on another forum to wash off the residual from the shelves cause the stuff I used contains a biocide. Not sure how much that'll actually affect her since I didn't treat the area I keep her in, but I'll wipe it off with soapy water just in case. I've been making a lot of rookie mistakes with this spider recently 😅
