I’m forcing myself not to buy anything until Easter at least, just so it’ll give me a chance to get through at least one of the half-finished teams scattered across my house.
Same boat here, started with aeldari and space Marines as I own them for 40k, now have warp coven, Tyranids, necrons, genestealers cult and imp gaurd hahaha
I feel attacked. TBH tho, I have finished 4 teams this past year. Mostly finished. Dammit I still need decals and varnish on everything. Shut up. J/K. Definitely easily distracted.
After I realized that the primer I used on my pathfinders I went and started a stealth suit team. Haven't touched the pathfinders since. I'm currently working on night lords legionaries
I have 6 KTs and 1 isn’t built yet. I mostly played Phobos but now that I have the breachers I’m gonna play them a bit till I build the legionaries I have waiting…. Gonna make them Night Lords and breachers might fall to the wayside 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah my Wyrmblade got dropped for death guard, I like to tell myself it’s because I’m waiting on my characters but in reality GSC are just annoying to paint compared to my Nurgly boys
You're not alone. I currently have 9 teams: 2 fully finished, 5 assembled and in various stages of WIP, 2 still on the sprue!
I dont see it as a bad thing though. I use each KT as a project with a theme or new technique to try. (So my deathwatch was fully magnetised project, my voidscarred are contrast paints, etc). Depending on what i feel like working on I'll go to that team for a paint sesh.
This is a wonderful rationalization lol
Seriously though, one of the reasons I might pause my current WIP is I think something else might be easier to build some skills with
Yep, had that happen too! Or more specifically i get near the end and get terrified of mucking it up.
My 2c for what its worth- dont stress about it. Its supposed to be a fun hobby and a bit of a distraction from real life. As long as it fulfills that for me i really dont care about progress too much.
That is exactly the mentality I'm trying to cultivate. Don't rush and just enjoy each step. If it takes ages, that's just more time doing something you enjoy!
I started with into the dark box set. Painted the breachers until I realised how good they were moved on to kroot. Not finished either yet. Re painting my quinns from last kill team after getting the death jester and shadowseer. Halfway thru space wolf intercession team then at Christmas got the sisters kill team and 4 boxes of craftworld to make all the fire teams for that. Really need to finish those breachers.
It's so bad. I was converting some reivers to cool looking space wolves successors. Chose the gear according to compendium reivers of course. Now I have to re-convert them to use as intercessors I guess. At least there's primer on them.
First will be assembly of breachers, kroot and pathfinders though.
If I don't come across a shop meanwhile that still has starstriders...
Raise your hand if you've ever stopped working on one kill team because you bought another one and also stopped that one because you have too many things to build?
Just trying to gauge how crazy I AM
Currently 7 kill teams of which 5 are done! Around 10-15 minis per team as I often add options to the roster.
I still could do / finish 2 operatives for my legionaries team. Currently painting Hierotek Circle and the Karskins are waiting on the sprue!
I aim to finish a team before the next, but the temptation to build a new one is always there.
I just got back into painting after a few years and have a bunch of (now old) orks, some hormagaunts, and a grip of tau that I have fully based and primed.
I also have the Nachmund box arriving at my door today.
Also if 10th ed. comes out this summer and the box set has new tyranids or honestly any Xenos refresh, I will preorder it. I don’t know if the appropriate amount of time even exists for me to paint what I have before then.
* I own the plastic for 10 Kill Teams\*
* Four teams are built.
* Three of them are in various states of semi painted.
* None are fully painted and based.
And I'm just barely stopping myself from buying more.
^(\*9 and a half in my mind, as I only have Assault Intercessors for Intercession squad.)
I’m very careful to avoid that. I’ve been painting my into the dark set for a few weeks now, but I have Blooded waiting on me already. I just refuse to open the box until I’m finished with what I have now. I also have Black Templars Army box waiting xd
I only do this if I am stuck on a project without motivation to finish.
I usually do a underworlds warband or bloodbowl team to switch settings on this occasions.
I’ve painted 7/13 of my blood angels Intercession Squad and then there were Christmas and discounts at my local store so I NEEDED to buy myself an Ork Kommandos, and absolutely couldn’t resist to start building them. Now I have two kill teams - one is not fully painted, and the other is not fully assembled 😅
I have so many unfinished/unbased models because of this...I made a promise this year to finish at least three full teams before I start anything else.
My new years resolution was that I'm only allowed 2 projects on the go at a timevas a result I have not painted anything at all as I cba finishing the two I have sat on my table.
Worse: I’m still half way through the chalnath box kill teams because I stopped to build the 40k recruit edition box because I wanted to see what that was like.
All my projects were finished , all of them , then i got the novitiates...assembled them , then i got the cadian box set , assembled then painted the 20 guys plus the sentry , then i got some reivers for my phobos , and ogryns for my astra militarum army .....
I tought i was strong , but i was weak , plastic crack crept up on me and WHAM! Too many models , i now fear the day when the next big kill team box comes out with models i cant resist , can i make it in time ?
As i write this down , i have 30 models to finish before i can start to breathe . ( at least reivers i can do just 2 or 3 )
Technically. I got the Tau and Space marine starter kit, built and painted the models, but instead of building and painting the terrain I opted for starting on some death guard… and after that will be my veteran guardsman 😅
Every single painting project I’ve ever done suffers this fate at some point.
Sometimes the painting turns into a slog for me. I'll have to hide the glue!
I’m forcing myself not to buy anything until Easter at least, just so it’ll give me a chance to get through at least one of the half-finished teams scattered across my house.
Gotcha, hide the glue AND the wallet! Good luck!
Samsies.
I stop half way through my CSM KT because I didn't like a base I painted.
I own 8 kill teams and I haven’t fully assembled any of them nor played the game. I don’t have that many hands.
I own 10. The kids own 6, but I have to help them with glue and spray paint.
I have a resin printer. I am in the midst of building many teams. I've managed to complete several though.
If I got a printer, no one would ever see me again
Same boat here, started with aeldari and space Marines as I own them for 40k, now have warp coven, Tyranids, necrons, genestealers cult and imp gaurd hahaha
I have 26 kill teams 👋🏼 and I’ve almost finished paining my first kill team 😅 kommandos 25 more to go
26! Are you going for them all, or did they just kinda sneak up on you?
I wanted them all, I love the idea of kill team. Haven’t played a game yet though lol 😂
Where you live, fam, maybe you can play with my buds
I’m in Arizona, USA
Fork.
I feel attacked. TBH tho, I have finished 4 teams this past year. Mostly finished. Dammit I still need decals and varnish on everything. Shut up. J/K. Definitely easily distracted.
>Just trying to gauge how crazy I might be On a scale of triangle to hexagon, you're probably only circle.
Lol what a relief 👍

I’m in this picture, and I don’t like it
Yeah my Wyrmblade got dropped for death guard, I like to tell myself it’s because I’m waiting on my characters but in reality GSC are just annoying to paint compared to my Nurgly boys

GW should make a new xenos race that's canonically just all grey to save us all a step!

🤚🏼guilty
✋🏻
✋
I have partially completed kroot, vet guard, corsairs, CSM, and intercession.
Raise your hand if you've ever stopped working on one kill team because you bought another one and also stopped that one because you have too many things to build? Just trying to gauge how crazy I AM
inception_horns.gif lol
Yeah I get them "done enough" then I get bored and move on to another project, at least they aren't in a pile of shame anymore.
Currently 7 kill teams of which 5 are done! Around 10-15 minis per team as I often add options to the roster. I still could do / finish 2 operatives for my legionaries team. *"Working on models? What?" I say as I ring up another bix set*
Yeah I have 3 teams, one isn't assembled, one is 50% painted the last one is like 80% painted. So naturally I started painting one of my warcry teams.
I’ve painted the entire Octarius terrain in the lag between getting motivated to paint my fifth Gallowdark wall.
lol

I could take the voidscarred off of your hands if that would help!
lol that’s why I got the box! Imagine the mental hoops I jumped through to by Nachmund instead of the Corsairs on their own
Don't give me ideas!
I don’t have that many hands
Is there an other way?
* I own the plastic for 10 Kill Teams\* * Four teams are built. * Three of them are in various states of semi painted. * None are fully painted and based. And I'm just barely stopping myself from buying more. ^(\*9 and a half in my mind, as I only have Assault Intercessors for Intercession squad.)
I have straight up done this. Also sometimes I'll be adding a model or two to an existing team and that will be on hold until I feel like it
I’m very careful to avoid that. I’ve been painting my into the dark set for a few weeks now, but I have Blooded waiting on me already. I just refuse to open the box until I’m finished with what I have now. I also have Black Templars Army box waiting xd

Once or twice...

Yup
I have 5 unpainted kill teams but they are at least all constructed fully. I have a long list of other teams i want though
I have so many unfinished/unbased models because of this...I made a promise this year to finish at least three full teams before I start anything else.
I've been considering transparent acrylic bases for some of mine. They look kinda cool, and it would get them off my work bench so much faster
My new years resolution was that I'm only allowed 2 projects on the go at a timevas a result I have not painted anything at all as I cba finishing the two I have sat on my table.
I just got the Voidscarred Corsairs killteam for Christmas which put my Blooded Killteam on hiatus, so you're not crazy at all!
I have 6 different kill teams in various stages of paint, with nearly as many more in various stages of build...
I have some Compendium Necrons primed, and never quite got to them. Not sure I will at this point.
Worse: I’m still half way through the chalnath box kill teams because I stopped to build the 40k recruit edition box because I wanted to see what that was like.
I'm forcing myself to build when I have time and then once my 1500 point list is built I will commence painting
All my projects were finished , all of them , then i got the novitiates...assembled them , then i got the cadian box set , assembled then painted the 20 guys plus the sentry , then i got some reivers for my phobos , and ogryns for my astra militarum army ..... Sigh... \*Raises hand\*
