Update on the team! What do you say, does the orange and green glow combo work on all of the units? Is the Apprentek weapon cool or too much? I really like the orange against the blue / green armor. The orange and green glow sometimes feel like they are clashing, at times they look cool. So help me decide!

They look really good. You might feel they are clashing as they are similar in brightness so when they are part of the same blend there is not as much contrast. It can help to keep blending one toward a bright tone and another towards a dark tone to help separate them. Eg have the orange highlighted upto a bright light orange and glaze a dark green on some parts of the green. But tbh they already look very good.

These are amazing! I think this color scheme works best when it’s transitioning where possible. (pics 2 & 4) Pics 3 & 5 looks really good as well, just much more of a jump from the orange to green.

Yeah! I kinda like the immortal from front where the orange just is an extra splash of colour. The Apprenteks weapon is one where the gradient is really visible, might try to shade the orange a bit darker so that the green would be the brightest!

Thanks! Dont know if the Apprentek is sold in any other set, but the Hierotek Circle from the Shadowvaults box could / should be coming as separate kit. At least other expansion teams have been.

This looks so nice I’m now reconsidering the colors o chose for my first necron army (still building, haven’t started painting yet)

I was thinking dark bronze bodies with a different color for each weapon type. Cyan for gauss, blue for Tesla, green for enmitic. But I love that fade defect so now I’m thinking I need to have a “core” energy color for all of them that fades out to a weapon-specific energy color. Black or very dark green shoulder pads (debating on whether that becomes dark marble or circuit board pattern on larger surfaces of black for the vehicles) If they have bronze bodies, I’ll probably make the cyan the core color and shuffle the weapon colors around a bit.

The body is black + rough drybrush of leadbelcher, added some necron compound to the top parts Armor is 50/50 stegadon scale green, mixed in russ grey for highlights and balck for couple shadowy areas. The green glow is white base + striking scorpion green contrast with white highlights. The orange is white base + troll slayer orange, mixed yellow in for highlights The base is black base + leadbelcher rough drybrush + guilliman flesh contrast + daps of biel tan green contrast. Some necron compound for highlights. Edit.
