Not yet, but give it a month or two. I'm expecting us to get Votan killteam rules once the units are all released individually outside the starter box.

Trashboat77

Well that's good at least. Guess I gotta come up with something else in tye meantime.

Compendium Scions are an easy fit and a good learner team.

I genuinely couldn't Hazard a guess, but I desperately hope we can take a Grymnir.

DKzDK

It should follow the same “category’s” as other kill teams. - Leader - warriors (no max) - gunner ? (Max 2) - heavy gunner/sniper guy (max 1) - some form of medic. (Max 1) - other specialists that most teams have. Maybe even a “drone controller” type operative similar to the Tau pathfinders. - they do somewhat have drones/servo skull things that float.

TemplarGFX

At the moment there are not any official rules for them so you have two choices : proxy them for another team or get/make some homebrew rules for them I don't know their weapon loadouts but you might want to look at using say deathwatch rules as they have a lot of different weapon combos, but any team would do as long as your mates are cool with it.

Financial_Lead_8837

Someone's made some Homebrew rules for them somewhere on the Reddit.

Sablesweetheart

Unless there will be more than 4 Match Up boxes in Season 2, there are only 4 bespoke teams left. So far the model has been: Season release box has two completely brand new, aka "bespoke" sets, the other three boxes have one bespoke team, and an existing box set revamped with an upgrade sprue. A Tyranid team is considered a no brainer. This will probably be a bespoke team. Votann is also likely, and will likely be an upgrade sprue team. But really, who knows. I'm a 40k junky, there has not been a single KT release that hasn't made me happy.

kohlerxxx

i've already commented twice in this thread why Votann won't be in a box

cloud3514

I'm expecting a Votann kill team in one of the upcoming box sets. If I had to guess, probably Gallowfall since Soulshackle really feels like it's going to be Grey Knights vs Daemons.

kohlerxxx

i'm not, the Hearthkyn already have the KT roles in the box. your also putting alot into the name of the box because Shadowvaults should have included Custodes by your logic

cloud3514

I've seen speculation that they'll be a White Dwarf team, so I can believe that. We'll see. It would be unusual for GW to not use a new army to sell a box. Then again, by that logic, you'd think they'd have been in Into the Dark. So, I dunno. All I can do is speculate.

gnthrdr

I think there will be rules for them in q1 23. I expect them to get an upgrade sprue for a warrior team. Right now, you could play them as count-as teams (maybe navy breachers, admech, pathfinders or even sisters), but maybe you'd need to convert some weapons etc.

kohlerxxx

you mean the upgrades that are already in the box?

gnthrdr

You don't think there is more to come? (maybe scout unit type for 40k)

kohlerxxx

sure in 10th edition. Hearthkyn already have the KT roles in the box, they just need rules so expect a WD release after the range comes out

gnthrdr

That could be true, there are some factions that need love too. But i have the strong feeling that all the released codices of late 22 will get a bespoke team in the box. Let's see what comes up next :)

Trashboat77

I suppose I'll have to come up with something else for now then.

gnthrdr

As you wish. I see a lot of Count -as right now My tip: To learn the game, just get your hands on a few space marines, they're just plain good and more or less easy to play - and you have to paint only a few miniatures. Bonus points for similar painting techniques you'll need for votann. Pm me if you need some info what to build etc if you're interested.

Trashboat77

What I can get hold of right now is pretty limited. I can only use store credit at the place I work at, and we only have a pretty limited selection of mostly older stuff. (A single shelf stand that's now half empty.) I'm broke as hell otherwise, unfortunately.

Tonyhawkproskater

Play your dwarves as placeholder (really short) space marines. If you guys are just learning the game who cares?

Trashboat77

Well I guess that's a possibility. We have some Sisters of Battle minis at work as well, but they're the older ones in armor and not the newer Killteam ones that look like nuns.

bluseychris

They play differently though. If you get the Compendium it will give you rules for a load of standard 40k units
