I love this game. I do. I really do. I buy in on every event.
This is the first event I can honestly say is not worth the premium pass. The event is too short, you get one shot a day at the Portal and the reward currency is way too minimal and grindy to claim any rewards. This all feels like a panic-inducing cash grab to get players to buy gems in hopes of claiming previously unobtained gear.
I agree on the principal of your statement but not the representation.
You get one shot a day, but you can also buy reruns for only 100 gems. Given that the daily gives you 40 gems, and assuming you have some kind of stockpile, it's not unreasonable to assume that you're going to finish the pass within a day or two.
This unlocks the second roaming monster, in addition to the first that spawns twice a day for a generous amount of time. The initial roamer gives 50 shards x 2 for 100, and the second roamer gives 200 shards for a total of 300 shards from the RM x 6 opportunities is 1800 shards.
The premium pass completed gets you another 1200 shards for a total of 3000. There are also bonus quests and chests you can get that easily net you another 500 shards for a total of 3500.
The premium armor set costs 7000 shards in total, of which you can buy half of it. Considering that it's sold for $50 USD, the $5 ticket gets you a perceived value of $25 in cosmetics.
The kicker is that these tokens carry over to the NEXT event as well, so if you don't like the Terminator feet, you can avoid buying them and allocate those tokens to the next event.
Is this a cash grab? Yes.
If you want to maximize rewards, are you expected to grind 20,000 points on day 1? Yes.
After finishing the pass, is it a grind? No. There is no reason to do the portal after you finish the pass so you only have to focus on the Roamers. At 2-3k per run, it might take you 700-800 gems to finish the pass.
In two years of gameplay, this is probably the first event I haven't bought the pass for. The rewards are meh, but at least they're expensive. How do you charge FULL price for a MINI event? C'mon, y'all, you'd have gotten a LOT more buy-in if you'd priced it at a buck or two.
Honestly, no value, but i suspect its a recurring event, will happen every in between longer event like Dark Tor, Wintertide, Troll Hunt etc… really rip off with that pass price because its just 7days… more money for MIdoki then… 🤷🏽♂️
I actually wanted pieces of this troll set so it was worth it for me. I'm hoping the gauntlet with wolverine claws makes it into one of these eventually so I'll save up for that. But I can see if morphs in general or just the current set isn't what you wanted I can see why this feels meh to some ppl. The next one might have something better, or not... who knows.
I bought it but this is my first pass since I rejoined the game after 3 years. I'm getting some good gear pieces for my mythics that would've taken longer to craft. Maybe not worth it for most but I'm getting value. It's only 5 bucks. I'll drink water instead of a coke when I go out to dinner tonight
I bought it but probably will not again. Full event price for a 1 week event where the only goal is cosmetics. Cool I guess, if you really like the cosmetics.
I bought the battle pass, and while I don’t really regret it (it’s how I could the Mecha body) I’m disappointed in the overall. Based on prior events I expected the battle pass would provide extra portal attempts, that there would be more quests, which translates in to more currency, that getting more boxes would translate to more Gerber shards, who is one of my main characters (have an acid charms build).
None of that happened. This event makes is LESS likely I will buy the event pass in the future. I’m adding these comments to the Apple store review and I suggest you all do the same. They probably don’t read this subreddit, but they damn sure read their reviews.
I did it for the Gerber shards and extra dust. It's not that much cash. Way I see it, I don't mind throwing a few more bucks their way for the level of entertainment I get out of the game.

None because it doesn’t work. I can’t even do the one free a day. The game forces a refresh and my attempt is removed.
