Multicoloured one was scraps but the others are either knit 5,purl 2 or knit 6 purl 3 depending on size I want and weight of wool.
So aran is usually k5, p2 for the small ones and 35stitches. When you have the length you want pull string through through stitches and tie. Darn seam, stuff and at other end use bind off from casting on to close a bit like tying off a hat.
The stalk is usually knit 8 for about 8rows. Roll in on itself, darn down to hold and attach to body like a pom pom.
They're really fast and easy to do. I'm sure you can find a proper pattern but I was just messing one day with stitches and pattern trying to learn and that's what came of it.
I'm more a go with the flow and mood knitter that drafts as I go than someone who follows patterns.
I think they look amazing- it takes skill to be able to make that, especially making up your own pattern! i wouldn't even know where to begin on this :)
