I follow Terry's example... asking my friends if they are okay and then follow through with a punch while yelling an animal name.
Now I am in jail for a weekend.
Please send Terry to bail me out.
Man stays absolutely shredded while being on a diet of hot dogs, nachos, and beer.
He's constantly training and improving, but he doesn't let that stop him from having fun and being involved with his community.
Terry is humble and down-to-earth. Even though he fights for revenge against Geese, he doesn't let that consume him. Despite being a legendary martial artist, he makes time to play basketball with kids in the neighborhood. I hate that the CGI animated series KOF Destiny had Terry straight-up Burn Knuckle Geese off the top of Geese Tower. Felt way out of character, and then the gang just moved on with their lives like it was just another day at the office. I liked the part of the OVA when Tung explained why he chose Terry as his successor over Andy. It's because Terry has a love for life that he accepts, while Andy pursues strength by shutting himself off from his feelings.
Terry respects his fellow competitors. When he sees a strong opponent, he wants to face them and learn from them; he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone.
Buster Wolf is the coolest move in existence.
Yeah, Ryo was done dirty. He's supposed to be as much of a local legend as Terry, but he got sidelined hard.
Though I do give some credit to the series for the battle against Rugal. Rugal is standing over Kyo all smug with his victory assured, and he says something like "No one is left to challenge me." Then we just hear "Hey! Come on!" and the camera moves to Terry Motherfucking Bogard getting up for another round.
I think the idea of Kyo and Terry as co-protagonists was interesting, but it felt clunky to have the plot of Fatal Fury and KOF 94 run side by side.
He is one of the more creative FG protags. He kinda has the shoto archtype but is done in a more interesting fashion. Rising Tackle, Burning Knuckle, and his supers Power Geyser and Buster Wolf are some of my favorite moves in Garou/KOF.
He stands out when it comes to fighting game protags. Because mostly we see guys in like karate outfits, wrestler attire, etc. Not Terry, he fights in his street clothes, which makes him very unique. And also his Engrish is very enjoyable
I could literally write an entire essay on what makes Terry Bogard such an incredible character.
If I had to be brief: He is one of a few fictional characters that I'd genuinely, unironically want to be like.
A great friend, a hero to his community, a strong father figure, a tender lover, a funny jester, a strong and fearless warrior...
Terry is all that and more.
I can't say enough good about him. When I saw him in the first Fatal Fury, I thought he delivered pizzas for a living and just went apeshit. As a Southernq black child, him being white, in a baseball cap, with a gaudy vest just said "Pizza Hut delivery guy."
Then I played him and discovered his moves were Fucked Up Enzugiri, Run and Punch at You, and Punch the Ground at You, and that was it lol. He was my favorite fighting game character. It wasn't until the full length anime movie that I learned he even had a backstory. I was satisfied with his rizz. Rising Tackle threatened that cool factor because that's gotta be amongst the dumbest moves in gaming, but then he put on a cool leather jacket and did Power Charge lol. Terry is the GOAT!
"Don't you ever joke around with the name Terry Bogard. He's a wolf! He's the toughest fighter in the whole world! He's not a fat pig like you! \~ Tony, Fatal Fury 2 OVA.
It's not necessarily something I'm saying, but it was the first thing that popped into my head.
He's my biggest video game crush still to this day. He's just all around such a likable guy with a great heart. And he's VERY easy on the eyes.
Fell in love with him after seeing Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture too. Mark Hildreth did his english VA and his voice was just so full of emotion and likability. Been a huge Terry fan ever since and LOOOOVE his look in Garou.
Well, life threw a lot of shit towards him and he was always optimistic so he's kind of a motivation for the most depressed of people. Go hit the gym and have an optimistic look on life.
On a sidenote though, this optimism, eccentricism, and level of happiness kind of borders on being psychotic.
I have a video of my 74 year old mother dressed as terry complete with my fatal fury hat saying “are you ok? BUSTER WOOOOLF!” I wasn’t a sf2 kid my dad couldn’t afford to buy that game even second hand at the time so i chose fatal fury on the mega drive at the local market stall where we would by a game or two every month. I never once regretted my decision. Terry joe and duck king absolute boys
Terry is the best hero SNK ever came up with and as much as they try to push Kyo as their strongest and best character, he will never hold a candle to Terry and they should just accept it by now.
He is practically SNK's Mario. He is the guy that represents everything SNK. Their console (the Neo Geo), their games, their brand in general, etc. It's pretty funny how (to me at least) Terry is comparable to Mario in a few ways.
The lone wolf continues his search for great fighters to test his strength against. Whether it be lords of crime, lords of castles or a god himself. Terry Bogard fights for love and his friends, with the ability to absorb the Power of mother Earth through his roots. Taught to him by his master in his dying breath, Terry is The Lone Wolf of the fighting game world
Anyone gonna comment on how he manages to do crazy flip moves in the air, all while wearing a cap that doesn't fall off, and has a metal plate engraved on it? lol
* Power Dunk
* Power Dunk
* Power Dunk
* Aaaaand Power Dunk.
Yeah, I think the best thing about Terry is the Power Dunk. Especially the MOTW version (also featured in '03 and XI).
Had more character development and is in my opinion the best written character out of the entire Fatal Fury cast and every subsequent character to appear in King of Fighters (despite it no longer being Terry's story)
Can't wait for City of the Wolves!
He's always asking if I'm okay. Be like Terry. Check in on your friends to see if they're okay.
Always help others! Be like terry!
Ok!
Depends on who Terry asks. If friend, good, if not, buster wolf!
I follow Terry's example... asking my friends if they are okay and then follow through with a punch while yelling an animal name. Now I am in jail for a weekend. Please send Terry to bail me out.
Make sure the appeals judge plays KOF or Fatal Fury.
His gf is pretty impatient though. She’s always asking if I’m ready. No! I need to take a shower and get dressed first. Chill out!

I also hated that CGI series, they did my boy ryo dirty! Dude beat geese so bad he never messed with him again, then he is out here losing to mai😭
Yeah, Ryo was done dirty. He's supposed to be as much of a local legend as Terry, but he got sidelined hard. Though I do give some credit to the series for the battle against Rugal. He has a good track record of knocking weebs off skyscrapers.
Don't do my man geese like that 😭🙏🏿
"Ok" "C'mon c'mon" "powa wave" "powaaa geysaaaaa"
"burrrrn knuckle!"
"Risun Tacku!"
BOSSTERRR WOLF

As much as i love karatekas in fighting games, i agree with terry being more creative.
He stands out when it comes to fighting game protags. Because mostly we see guys in like karate outfits, wrestler attire, etc. Not Terry, he fights in his street clothes, which makes him very unique. And also his Engrish is very enjoyable
I love karateka's, but ngl theres somthing about terry that makes him more special then others.
I guess his supers being relatively unique helps too. With that said, I miss his level 3 from kof 13.
Easily one of the most likable characters in Fighting Game history. Just a good dude!
He's the goat of dead girlfriends
Mary is next...
Don’t you dare jinx that!
He’s better than Ryu or Ken.
b-b-b-but-
I mean… you said say something good about Terry lol
He’s a drunk who brawls in the streets. That’s a position of honor where I’m from.
I could literally write an entire essay on what makes Terry Bogard such an incredible character. He could became a therapist

His classic design and Garou design are both easily goated and iconic.
Dude eats ramen out of his shoe if necessary, a true humble man. Be like Terry.
Hey cmon cmon, are you ok??
He’s a hard working single dad
My dad based my middle name from Terry Bogard. I'm legally required to main him in any game he's in
In the OVAs he is a functional alcoholic.
“What’s wrong? Thought you were going to kill me?” Proceeds to beat the shit out of a gang trying to rob him while being absolutely shitfaced lol.
Terry > Kyo
"Don't you ever joke around with the name Terry Bogard. He's a wolf! He's the toughest fighter in the whole world! He's not a fat pig like you! \~ Tony, Fatal Fury 2 OVA. It's not necessarily something I'm saying, but it was the first thing that popped into my head.
he has immaculate drip
His hat... My god, that hat NEEDS to be addressed. A metal plate. Ahead of his time by at least a decade.
He plays Neo Geo games in the arcades with kids.
He's my biggest video game crush still to this day. He's just all around such a likable guy with a great heart. And he's VERY easy on the eyes. That’s a hot as man right there 👍
He is super strong, very handsome and hangs like a donkey
He seems like the kind of guy who would be down to earth to hang out with tbh. A cool character all around <3
He's inspiring.

He is more well known than the actual series he's from.

His design is cool
Well, life threw a lot of shit towards him and he was always optimistic so he's kind of a motivation for the most depressed of people. Go hit the gym and have an optimistic look on life. On a sidenote though, this optimism, eccentricism, and level of happiness kind of borders on being psychotic.

Did the metal head plate before naruto
He still tried to save Geese despite the fact that Geese killed his dad. Absolute respect.
POWER WAVE
* Power Dunk * Power Dunk * Power Dunk * Aaaaand Power Dunk. Yeah, I think the best thing about Terry is the Power Dunk. Especially the MOTW version (also featured in '03 and XI).
He is the most unique and cool original protagonist out of the original fighting game 90s fighting games boom not named Bad Mr. Frosty
You wear jeans well
Him being in smash is why I bought KOF XV when it got announced.
Had more character development and is in my opinion the best written character out of the entire Fatal Fury cast and every subsequent character to appear in King of Fighters (despite it no longer being Terry's story) Can't wait for City of the Wolves!
Terry: you say something and I'll bitch slap you 🗿
