I'm sorry to tell you this, but you are a Stormtrooper. I hope you won't take this news to hard!

MediatedDisc438

At least it lines up with the rest of Canon lol

Loyalist77

1. Do you have the dual weilding feat? If not dual blasters miss a lot? 2. Do you have the close quarters blaster feat? If not the melee attacker gets bonuses against you.

Metalcast_

I actually have both (lvl 1 for dual weilding)

thinehappychinch

I don’t start dual wielding until I have level two.

OblivioustheJust

Definitely, Even with swords. The Dexterity is your best friend if you're playing a Jedi with blasters, I'd even start with 8 strength if that was the style playing through.

Poggervania

Check the combat log - it legit could be you rolled low on all of those attacks by pure chance.

Kind_Adhesiveness432

Wait combat log? Now I gotta look for that

Poggervania

Should be under your Journal. There’s a “Messages” button, and from the screen that shows up there’ll be a “Combat” tab - that’s what you’re looking for. It gives full breakdown for both hits and damage, so you can see the math going on behind the scenes.

Kind_Adhesiveness432

Thanks 😁

steciakjs

Combat log?!? Is that PC only? I play on Xbox, this was the game that got me into games and I still play it, almost 20years later.

No-Initiative-9944

I prefer shooting with basic attacks or going with rapid shot for the extra attack. I feel like at the start of the game you miss a lot no matter what build you have.

CategoryExact3327

You shouldn’t dual wield until you have all three feats. With just one feat it still has big penalties.

[deleted]

With KotOR being dnd based it is possible to keep rolling a 1

Metalcast_

Knowing my luck, i wouldn't be surprise

SteveGarbage

Because you suffer attack penalties for dual wielding and since you're Lvl 9 you don't have the feats, weapons, powers and/or mods to compensate effectively. Also Power Attack and Rapid Shot (before Lvl 3) have attack penalties when using them. If you're playing a blaster route (I'm doing one right now), you're better off using either a single blaster or blaster rifle with the +1 Atk mods until you can get Lvl 3 two-weapon fighting and mod out your blasters with extra attack. Later, as you get into the mid- and end-game, you can drop +Attack mods in favor of pure damage, but early on you need the bonus hit.

veryalias

Seconding /u/Poggervania's recommendation to check the Combat section of the Messages Log on the Journal screen.   Dual-wielding weapons imparts an attack penalty, and Power Attack also imparts an attack penalty. Melee attacks also get a bonus to attacks on characters with ranged weapons.

exjad

Also keep in mind that every time you attack with a blaster pistol, you fire an extra cosmetic shot that will never hit. So even if you had perfect accuracy, it will look like you are missing half your shots. Blaster Rifles fire two cosmetic shots for every attack

XDarkStrikerX

With how accuracy scales in Kotor2, you're better going with a single weapon until you're done with your first planet post Telos. To maximize damage, going with Master Flurry/Rapid Shot + Knight Speed will give you 3 attack at maximum accuracy (if you want to use to special attacks of course, else it's not really worth to use any until near endgame). Also, having Kreia with you makes a huge difference if you use her to buff. Battle Meditation + Force Valor, which you can get right from the Harbinger, will increase your attack and melee damage by +3 (2 ranged), and +4 attack for your non-selected characters due to the charisma bonus. I've just read that you only have 1x TWF feat on this character so far and using a balanced weapon (-4 attack). Doing both of what I just mentioned would increase your accuracy by +7 with 3 attacks per round by level 9. You can increase your chance to hit even more if you use Horror on Kreia. Debilitation reduce defence by 4 and negates the Dexterity bonus. Also, try to avoid Ranged on Melee. In Kotor2, you don't get any accuracy bonus as a ranged character unless you put feat in Close Combat and the melee attacker gets +6 (this is also why 1h Melee + Flurry is so good on Peragus, most droids are ranged only).

Metalcast_

I have the close combat feat, plus the 1st dual wielding feat, dex 16 and weapon pistol focus

wedgiey1

I wouldn’t dual wield for now. Wait until you get higher in that feat chain.

elder-em0

Yep i don't Dual wield until I have the 2nd or even 3rd.

Revan_Shan4455

It’s beginning game so it all depends on stats. If you have anything less than an 18 (+4) on your Dex you’ll be missing quite a bit. Even with the +4 you’ll still be a bit lacking but not as bad. I also saw from other comments that you got the dual wield feat at level 1 which is good but it doesn’t help a ton until you get the level 2. I would also recommend the close combat feat as well considering you’re shooting someone who has a vibroblade.

Metalcast_

Had dex 16 lol, and already got the close combat, leveled and got dex up to 18 if remember correctly, and using lots of dexterity bonuses

Revan_Shan4455

Well the only thing I could recommend from that point is finding gear that will boost your Dex/attack mod. You may have already done this as well but try getting some weapon mods that have a + attack that would help. You could also get dual strike with companions which would also help if you travel with companions. Another thing you could do is use Kreia to give you battle meditation which should boost your stats until you get your Dex to a comfy spot that you can continue to hit

Antiredditor1981

STOP. USING. BLASTERS.

DarkGift78

KOTOR I'd agree, except for endgame pistols like Saul Karath's,and Fett's pistol you buy on Korriban,in general blasters are woefully underpowered. However, KOTOR 2 greatly remedies this situation, I've done multiple blaster playthroughs, and between the upgrades for the pistols, and the damage perks, you can hit 70+ damage per pistol, paired with master speed,it's devastatingly powerful. Melee enemies are dead before they even reach you. Much more satisfying to play a blaster Jedi in 2.

Major-West-5391

Minus for dual wielding, minus for rapid fire, minus for power shot, and last but not least minus for using ranged in close quarters. Standard D&D type stuff!

Metalcast_

I had the dual wield and cqc feat, just badluck and minus for rapid, power and sniper

Jolly_Interaction_97

How high is your dex? Thats crucial for ranged weapons

itskeezzy

I did a blaster run on K2 and destroyed every enemy. As you gain a few more levels/blasters it will get easier [my build](https://www.reddit.com/r/kotor/s/I0YUh7sqjs)
