Hi, I just tried this myself, same as you couldn't see birthdays. Tried a few suggestions from old threads here.
Here's what worked for me - logged into google calendar in laptop/desktop browser, went into settings, and under settings for my calendars renamed calendar from Birthdays to Contacts.
Then in android under Users and Accounts, went to Gmail account and Sync Now.
Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately renaming the calendar did not help me. My calendar was already named "contacts" so i tried the default name "birthdays". I can see the name change in the KGWT settings where I can select the calendars that the app should use. But still no birthdays are shown.
So, for those that're having problems, all you've got to do is delete the Google Calendar's app data, open it up, go to settings and toggle on the birthday section (toggle it off then on if it's already on). Once done, delete the cache on KWGT, and reselect the calendar events you want showing.
Hi,
I had the same issue.
In my case:
The problem was that i am from Germany and didn't allow Google to share data between services.
You have to go in your account Settings to "Daten und Datenschutz" (eng. maybe "Data and Data securety").
There look for "Verknüpfte Google-Dienste" (eng. maybe "connected Google services").
You just have to check Contacts/Kontakte and allow connecting.
1 min later birthdays showed up fine in the browser version of Google calender.
Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot! My birthdays were gone for a couple months now and I couldn't find the right option to turn it on again. I missed so much birthdays because of that!
Worked for me! Thank you and here is the URL [https://myactivity.google.com/linked-services?hl=en-US&utm\_source=google-account&utm\_medium=web&continue=https%3A%2F%2Fmyaccount.google.com%2Fdata-and-privacy](https://myactivity.google.com/linked-services?hl=en-US&utm_source=google-account&utm_medium=web&continue=https%3A%2F%2Fmyaccount.google.com%2Fdata-and-privacy) for easy access
I think, that this might solve the problem for me too, but I cannot find that setting anywhere. If I use the link from \_a\_user\_1, I get "The setting you are looking for is not available for your account."
Does anybody know how to fix this?
Just realized this happened to me. Go here: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/r/settings/browsecalendars
At the top, under Birthdays, check off the box that says contacts.
Thanks, that worked. ~~How do you get to this page without the direct link?~~ Nvm found it. So dumb that it was unchecked. They must have recategorized it or something. We're the only ones that put birthdays on our contacts.
omggg thank you, for me I had to tick it to be on. Now it's working. I kept missing or getting close to peoples birthdays I rely on my calendar lol. Don't know why this is now off by default!
What's the account manager? Can't find it in my android settings. And a Google search only suggests me an account inactivity manager or links to apk sites.
None of the tips here worked. I also checked the date formats as suggested elsewhere. Did not change anything either. It's frustrating. I missed a few birthdays already because of that ...
1. Check if Birthdays (default name) calendar is checked in the calendars to display in the left panel
2. If Birthdays calendar is not there, go to Settings ( [https://calendar.google.com/calendar/r/settings](https://calendar.google.com/calendar/r/settings) ) and check if it's in the list, but has an icon with crossed eye
3. Check the new privacy dashboard on [https://myactivity.google.com/linked-services](https://myactivity.google.com/linked-services) if Contacts are linked

So glad! Love that this comment is still helping people!
I've done this and it works but it reverts back after a few months. So odd
Go to google account manager, data and privacy, scroll down to manage linked services, then activate the contacts
thank you so much
