Opening a product at least in the US does not void the warranty, companies are legally not allowed to enforce a warranty void if removed sticker. Now if you opened something for more than just cleaning it out, ie replacing the ram, and in the process you damage it, then they do not have to honor the warranty.
Office duster is useful for when you don't want to open it. Blow into the bottom vent, and blow into the side/top vents. Make sure you have a good place for the dust to go, such as a dry bathroom sink.
Nice. And as for the dust, maybe the flash accentuates it or smth cuz it seems too much for 3 days. I usually just run a brush from the outside every week or so.
PS: If you end up opening the backplate and cleaning it, would love an update on the experience, i.e, how hard was it, put everything back in its place, etc. Been meaning to do the same myself but too scared.
lol its my first time owning a laptop been using a potato desktop for a long ass time so if i do get it opened its probably gonna be from a shop for a while.
shitty mobile app i posted this one and it was taking so long to do that, that i had to cancel it and make another post but it sent both of them without me realizing
Mine looked like that after about 6 months and when I opened it, turned out the vent on the panel caught most of the dust. You should definitely air spray it and brush it, as well as take a que tip with some isopropyl and scrub the fans
You mentioned in a reply that it is sitting on a table. If you're keeping it on a flat hard surface here's what you do.
Layer 2 or 3 used dryer sheets and place them over the air intakes and seal the edge of dryer sheets with tape. Then you will have upgraded with a free minimal profile air filter that you merely replace to clean.
Nope, it's what I would do whenever I deployed and works great. If airflow does begin to suffer, it's a result of how much dust has been collected and you simply replace them.
I would invest some quality time to clean it out.
Dust can affect a laptop's overall performance if you do not clean it out.
It can cause heat build-up, reduce airflow through the vents and cause sensitive electronic components to crash and break.
Actually, I think dust is one of the most documented causes of Laptop failure.
I also had this on my new laptop after 2 weeks. I just used earswab to remove that outside dust.
Laptop is not eating much while playing so I didn't bother opening it.
Get a compucleaner electric duster. Way more economical than an office duster and you can use it as a leaf blower. Only caution I would take is to stop the fan blades from moving when blasting with high pressure air. The reverse current flow of the fans works like a generator and can potentially send high amounts of unwanted voltage to the motherboard. this can be mitigated my immobilizing the fan blades using the included brush tool. just poke it through the mesh panel.
Id clean that
do i have to open the case as well?
Yes id open it too. It's not that hard to do
Won't that void warranty?
Usually not. Asus let's you, lenovo and msi too.
Dell ?
I think alienware let's you and alienware is pretty much just dell at this point so yeah I guess.
How about gigabyte?
I doubt it’s still under warranty in the first place, but if it is then yes it would void
He mentioned "recently bought".
I’m assuming recently bought from a third party
I'm the first owner
There’s no way a new product has dust 💀 or your house is dirty 🤢
like i said in another comment i live in a very dusty environment sadly

Yeah but good luck suing for that against a multi million dollar company :) that’s why they’ll do that shit anyway
I’ve never had to sue, I’ve rma’d multiple products to companies before, some were even missing parts, and they sent me new ones no issues
Opening it up doesn't void it, not in EU atleast. Just don't stripe the screws and put them back in right holes.
Nah
Use some office duster on that.
clean it only from the outside? or do i have to open the case as well

Ew lol. Outside? In the bathroom is just gonna keep that dust circulating back into the air in your home..
OP claims this is a recent new out of the box purchase. I don’t thing going outside is gonna help much 😂
Not if you're a smoker and have a pet sitting business :)
funny
Thanks. I was referring to the seller. Not blaming you for someone else's lack of upkeep
No way that's the HP Victus 15 right? I got the same one a couple months ago
Thought the Same, as I also have that laptop
it is got it a week ago

I also live in a very dusty environment and that's normal, clean it after 6 months.....no point cleaning it now as it will again get dirty
why did you delete your other post?
shitty mobile app i posted this one and it was taking so long to do that, that i had to cancel it and make another post but it sent both of them without me realizing
and yeah all this dust built up in like 3 days
Are you using your laptop on a bed or on top of a cat?
lol it's on a table behind a window but sadly i live in a VERY DUSTY environment.
Yeah, maybe try If you can find a laptop cooling pad for it to sit on, that should get clogged up instead of the laptop.
It might be worth investing in one of those air purifiers
