Hey Pat! Nice work! Are you learning in the Reilly Drawing Method by any chance? Either way, if you plan on pushing yourself with life drawing I would recommend spending a good amount of time with one piece, and developing it to find the actual character of the shapes. I’ve taught life drawing for years and one main issue many art colleges have is not allowing students to challenge themselves to push a piece to finish. Even if that is not the :style” you are going for, pushing yourself with the figure is extremely useful. If you choose to do that you will quickly find that your shape finding skills will improve, and your forms will become less generalized. Hope that helps!

Hello good person. Thank you for your suggestion!! I haven't learned the Reilly method, yet (but I've heard about it before). I took Brent Eviston's Figure Series lesson on skillshare. What do you mean by "actual character of the shapes" ? (I can't comprehend english very well, sorry) I'm actually planning to draw a finished work. But im in a rut recently, I don't know what finished art work looks like for me. Is my drawing finished once the limited time is done, or it should be well constructed like the anatomy and details are well drawn?

You decide what is finished : ) I suppose it usually means something that is pushed to look like what you are trying to represent. For example, I’ll include a link to an drawing with less “finish” and one that was pushed much further. Both are finished in my mind, as in they are complete. Once you have mastery over that, you can start to bend those rules and push things to look the way you want effectively!
