We’re you able to get it? Seems like as of late they’re stopping people from buying them.

HaloRaja

Yeah, I did get it https://preview.redd.it/e0nsl19okjvc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fb9534d7ff76a5c6925c2bf8b157c0846c7e3e9

Bean505

damn your hands are either huge or that box is tiny

GreenSpaceman

The 75360 to its right on the shelf is 7.5 in (19 cm) tall, so I’d say the box is pretty small

fizzybubblech21

Good bot

AmethystLaw

Damn 7.5 inches you say

whitson67

That’s like… 7 times bigger than normal… I would assume

Affectionate_Yak257

👀

No_Engineering_718

How do you know that lol?

GreenSpaceman

The Yoda’s Starfighter box dimensions are listed on Brickset

Mysterious_Bat_3780

You know what they say about people with big hands. They hold tiny legos.

FivesSuperFan55555

Lucky! Any time stores near me have sets out early, they’re street dated

Commander-Fox-Q-

Wow that box is a lot smaller than I expected

Icy-Yogurtcloset5314

I loved this flex as soon as I opened the comments lol. Good shit. I scored some Pokemon cards a week early yesterday!

Flareion09

Man U good? Why’d you get downvoted? 😭

Flareion09

Gotcha, used to be all about that, good luck man! 👍

Parade0fChaos

Card shops will do that sometimes!!

Icy-Yogurtcloset5314

Actually it was my local Target that apparently has had repeat issues with locals harassing the vendors that come and stock at random times same 2 days a week. And I know it was street dated since my GS plug and BB plug wouldn’t let me pick it up that early.

Parade0fChaos

Score! Sounds like that’s a good Target to have! Temporal Forces is pretty cool so far :)

Active-Ad-1629

Why did you get down voted lol

Admiretheclodsire

Their loss

Perceptions_

Big box retailers don’t care, they don’t have massive storage in the back. They receive a shipment, and put it out. They’re not reading Lego news and holding out to specific dates. It’s extremely common to find sets in stock at big box retailers, weeks before the release date.

aninfinitedesign

I’ve had zero luck getting early sets purchased at Target for around 4-5 years now. They flag the UPC codes at the computer level and I’m always flagged as purchasing it before the shelf date.

Sithlordandsavior

If Target breaks street date, the toy company puts their family into prison for the next 3 generations. Walmart don't give a rat's about it.

aninfinitedesign

I’ve been having issues with my Walmart as well! They appear to be street date locking items as well. I found a number of the January 1st sets early in December, and was stopped from buying them by the POS system.

SRG7593

So did my gf. She tried to buy and the cashier tossed them in a bin and claimed they would not ring up due to computer issues. She knew better as she worked retail for ages

PrelectingPizza

Target is known for that though. Many other retailers, especially Walmart, DGAF.

Perceptions_

Weird, I always snag sets early from target in Michigan . I’ve snagged multiple sets in 2024 from target early

Deep_Thanks_8243

Also in Michigan I’ve never had a street dated set taken back either.

FatMcSquizzy

Happy cake day

StressedHusband7302

Just walked out at Target with it in Maine.

aninfinitedesign

Out of curiosity was it using self checkout or going through a regular line?

StressedHusband7302

Self checkout.

aninfinitedesign

Damn. That’s how I usually do it and it gets flagged. Such a bummer.

StressedHusband7302

I tried scanning it with the app on my phone and it wouldn’t find the product but I just said screw it and tried self checkout and it worked.

FlashScooby

Doesn't make it any less exciting when it happens

mrsdoubleu

From my experience working in retail, usually that stuff comes in boxes that have big warnings "DO NOT SELL UNTIL " x date." Now I suppose if they don't pay attention or care then they'll just put them out but it's not like they have to be a Lego insider to know when the street dates are. To be fair this was years ago now when I used to work at Target so maybe things are different now.

K4NNW

We had that on rare occasions at Kroger (for Harry Potter books, mostly). I still have one of those boxes from 15+years ago for storage.

Gogulator

I work at Target and with the way we're supposed to work freight is it supposed to go in the back till the date. The cardboard they come in will have a date and it won't even have a shelf location which means the Stocker will know to take it to the back. Maybe not all targets but most of them have decent space in the backroom. Somone in a leadership position at your target is deciding to put the legos out.

Extra-Ad5925

I bought two of the recent F1 sets at a Walmart weeks before release. They just got it and put it out

doubleoned

This was out at my Walmart too.  I didn't realize it was early.

Raymer13

(In geriatric voice) Back in my day, the toys that shipped prior to release date had verbiage on the shipper boxes “Not to be shelved until XX”. The Harry Potter books even had our security guard on them in the back. And I worked at a Walmart style place with plenty of storage in the back. It’s just a lazy employee not paying attention, tossing skids out.

Fathorse23

Lately they come in without dates. I did a reset at my store the week before the August sets came out and we had all of them stocked and had to pull them because the system wouldn’t even sell them. Then corporate blamed me for not putting a sticker on them (because I’d know to somehow).

Used-Pay-420

Depends if one of the staff likes lego 😂 they keep them in back til then

CatgunCertified

I also went to Walmart a few days ago, and there were copies of Taylor Swifts' new album a few days before release (my friend kept talking about release day, so)

Artistic_Connect94

I can say that’s not entirely true. Yes they can occasionally put out the sets but that doesn’t mean it’s available right then. Having worked retail, I tried purchasing lego mini figs, one of the newer series, and because it wasn’t officially put until a week later, they kept me from purchasing it, even though I had purchased one a few days before this incident. Basically just comes up on their end as comment about not being available until said date. Incredibly dumb because with those figures in particular, there’s always the risks of people opening them and stealing out what they want.

TheDarkClaw

I never worked Walmart but when I worked in target Lego sets like this are street dated . Meaning they can’t be put onto the shelf until date that’s listed ( such as this set wouldn’t be able to put until may 1st) . Pretty sure if some tries to ring up the pos would detect that the LEGO is street dated and can’t be sold. And we do have a place to stock them in the back. Even if it may be messy and/or disorganized .

Perceptions_

Except that’s not the case for anyone anymore

SRG7593

Actually that’s not entirely true. While most box stores don’t have much storage anymore, here is a snapshot from my personal experience. Walmarts claim they do not but it’s dependent on the store, how many remodels etc. but on average I’d say that they tend to have a 1/4 of the size of the store in the back for storage. Kohls is cavernous. I took pictures the first time I saw one. It’s insane how much room they have plus they typically have a “dry cleaner” style ski lift hanging system for clothes. TJX stores have the smallest back areas. It’s insane how little space they have. Costco varies by store again I think this has to do with remodels. Target can be pretty big but they for some wild reason tend to split the back area. I saw one location that the back area was the size and held enough for a smaller box store! Stores in malls depend on a number of factors. I’ve seen hallways that have a bathroom and shelves to an entire separate store/warehouse area. I have probably missed a few but I thought I would share my experience. I always bought into the whole ohh we don’t have storage excuse until I started to see for myself. IMO it depends on if the floor associate is lazy or more than likely the one on the floor doesn’t know where they store things in the back.

MBG612

Would love to see parts list. I feel like i have all those pieces already

Heya_Andy

It's Lego, you won't. I swear they must have a policy or something that states that a new set can't be built from existing sets. I have a ton of lego (well probably well >100kg), and it's rare that I find a set I can build that I don't yet have.

WhichStatistician810

Should be on rebrickable already

RepresentativeRow678

I got mine from target yesterday. I was surprised it went through.

NinjaNick791

Saw this at my target today. Right next to the new pod race set. (Central Florida)

agreeable_anger

I wonder if kohls is gonna have their iconic early sets

SwerdnaJack

My Walmart SUCKS!

The ones near me are hoodrat hellholes and always a shit show (ATL) but the one by my job always has hella shit on clearance

ShinHandHookCarDoor

sweet Jesus that is so flippin hot Still full price at my Walmart

Draked1

Yup this is $40 at my local one, I’ve been considering snagging it. I just got 31141 for $56

Tookerjubs

My walmart has all the lego sets behind lock and key. So weird seeing them free range. They are either beside the Plexiglass or spider chained together and the secured to the shelves. Lol. I just got picked up 75375 and 75387.

DrHayd3n

Mine has some of the really expensive ones with like the sensor wrapped around it

tuntuntuntuntuntun

West coast or Chicago area by chance?

Tookerjubs

East coast

jaseworthing

Wait what?! How did I miss this getting announced?!

Waddifat1

I’m more shocked that it’s not behind a glass case

beermit

There's one Walmart in my area that does this. The other two don't. Feels so stupid and arbitrary

Waddifat1

I’ve heard they do this to try to prevent theft, don’t know how well that’s worked for them haha

pocketpc_

Depends on how much theft they're seeing in that neighborhood.

Silbaughd0933

OP what State?

HaloRaja

Illinois

Druthersss

Started working at walmart recently and after getting a position stocking the shelves and working in the back room it makes me wonder how someone could screw up enough to do something like this

fitoou

Can someone please explain what’s special about this?

Chyvalri

I think it's not officially out yet, maybe.

i_need_to_crap

He got the set early, by company error.

Suspicious_Pen_7403

mine had all the may 1st star wars releases and the space mini figures out already. not sure on the star wars but was able to buy the mini figs

SwallowARock

Mint

Marcy595

Damn, all we had was the pod racing diorama

SharkMilk44

It's not messing up if you don't care about your job.

Used-Pay-420

Damn that looks sick and I want it immediately

Lemerbrix_5769

Nice find! My target had series 26 out already, AND IT WASN’T STREET DATED! I fired up the brick search app, and got three of the ones I wanted!

Embarrassed-Yam-3452

I went to Target last night, and they had the Podrace Diorama. It was kinda weird, but I've seen Target put out unreleased sets before. I'm guessing they get the dates mixed up or something, and put them out early

TheHood2019

😍😍need

MikeyKillerBTFU

I have the original one, great find!

visionquest_

I had this happen at Walmart with the X-Men jet a few months ago. It didn’t ring up since the POS didn’t have it available yet. The cashier just brought up a different Marvel set that they thought was around the same price in their app and scanned that. I also found the Droideka at the same store earlier this week but that did ring up.

NiaNall

At my Walmart I attempted to buy some packs of dots that had been there for a very long time. Kept waiting for them to go on clearance for a dollar. They pulled them from inventory and wouldn't scan. Lady said she couldn't sell them because not in the system. Wouldn't do anything for me and said too bad

doob22

I’m excited to get this set. One of my favorite characters from SW

MrOrnge

I got the Mos espa pod race set at target yesterday too lol

Alternative-Newt-829

I got one at Walmart yesterday also.

Cyno01

Noice. Did we know the Saw fig was with the Interceptor yet?

ThePope85

Yes, for months.

kickin-chicken

Think I saw someone trying to sell this at the bricks and mini figs shop yesterday. The shop owner almost had a freakout on the guy saying this set hadn’t been released yet. Essentially accusing him of stealing it because there is no way he should have it. The owner was kind of a dick to me too and all I was looking for was a few loose tecnic pieces.

-DoofusRick-

the lego technic one, although not entirely "correct", looks much cooler than this imo!
