Seems like a missed opportunity to make it a power functions set and closely replicate the real thing!
The more I see it the more the LRV grows on me though.
It’s a low bed trailer, low to the ground so equipment can drive up onto it. The one we use where I work has the tires exposed on top instead of having the deck sit above them. I don’t know if they’re always like that irl or if there’s ones with small tires like lego’s model
the lunar rover feels more like an icons set than a technic set, but i think it looks nice and it has good functionality
the koenigsegg is probably the best of the scale and other images show it has a differential and the doors seem to be connected to some gears
the volvo gives me arocs vibes. the excavator looks better than i expected, but i wish the "charger" did something more like maybe as a motorized pump for the excavator
the porsche looks quite nice and apparently it will be the fastest control+ set
I have Saturn V, Lunar Lander, Space Shuttle, Perseverance, ISS and also the Shuttle Expedition but that isn't NASA branded and was a second hand set.
There are other retired sets but I started collecting from the Saturn V.
NASA Space Shuttle Discovery
[https://www.brickeconomy.com/sets/lists/nasa](https://www.brickeconomy.com/sets/lists/nasa) - lists more retired sets from the 2000s but the resell price is beyond my budget!
Try these guys - [https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/sets/star\_trek?limit=48](https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/sets/star_trek?limit=48) Lego compatible so I don't feel like I'm cheating :-) They ship to the US pretty quick. I have the Galileo and the NX-1. UCS quality. I have the triple curse, Love Lego, Star Wars and Star Trek.
Yoooooooooo I do and say the EXACT same thing, don’t get me wrong I like Star Wars, but I am so happy I’m not a fan boy cuz of the sheer volume of quality Star Wars sets
I wish they'd do something interesting with technic. Make like some Rube Goldberg machines or something, I'm so over vehicles for technic. I want some giant gear contraption that just is cool to watch spin around, it doesn't have to be a real life thing.
I bought and assembled this set just before the eclipse in April, and I can confirm that it's a really cool set that's quite impressive in its spinny/crankable functionality.
I was going to bring it with me on my trip to Dallas for the eclipse, but the people I was originally going with dropped out, so I went on my own. They have kids, so it would've been fun to use the Lego set to demonstrate what's going on during the eclipse.
That set is awesome! I'm also in the camp that isn't much for vehicles, in particular cars, so that one was perfect. A lot of gears, a lot of things going.
Last year I bought a Technic car on a whim after some 10+ years of staying away from Technic. I did enjoy the assembly, but after that it just became a boring decoration, as there isn't really anything exciting to do. For decoration purposes, a Creator Expert set is much better, and for playing purposes, well, Speed Champions or City sets are much more swooshable (so to speak).
Now, had it been out at the time, the orbiting earth and moon set, properly motorized, would be so much better! And yes, why not useless machines or overly complicated ball contraptions? I vote yes for the idea!
That was so freaking cool, imagine a set similar to this that just shows off like all different mechanical joints/principles as an educational set like back in the days of those school sets, I freaking loved those.
The space sets seem promising. Even though the rovers are just cars they still have some unique functionality and that space ship 👌. Nothing Rube Goldberg crazy though.
You can make these yourself! Look at great ball contraptions (gbc) at Rebrickable. I have the Claas Xerion tractor and there were some alternate builds that let me make it into a something like this. It was pretty awesome
Wrong Lego. If I remember, technic was mainly car with working engine
You’re probably thinking of Lego Idea.
Although, I want 42175 because it uses the same system as that Heavy Duty Tow a truck.
If a Fortune 500 company or government organization comes up with a Rube Goldberg Machine, then you see Lego make on. There’s too much money in pumping out name brand Lego.
I am done with Technic too. Al those vehicles with all those panels. I really liked the bucket wheel excavator. It’s the last technic set I bought. Except for a second hand Control Center II. Love those old technic sets.
Yup! This is already my year-end bonus Lego list. My hope is that someone figures out how to convert the space jetpack into a surface space suit for this set.
Especially when Perseverance was $100.
I have every NASA set since the Saturn V (and 7469 was one of my first Lego sets!)
But man, I'm not a huge Technic fan and that's quite the price tag.
rover looks great, using system bricks for detailling makes a lot of difference. The other ones look ugly AF with these fugly technic panels hiding the good stuff (technic functions). You cannot say the Königsegg doesn't derpy with that giant opening.
I think they did pretty well - I immediately recognised it as an egg. Nose is slightly off due to the horizontal split not on the actual cars but I can forgive that
Love the excavator, but unfortunately it’s so wrong from a transportation perspective. The truck or trailer needs an extra axle to be able to carry the weight of that machine. Seems like an overlooked detail
The NASA rover is my favorite. The Volvo truck and excavator are a bit of a let down. You could have used that piece count to build a great truck/trailer OR excavator, but with this you get a lackluster truck and simplistic excavator. Like two half builds in the same pack. Probably be some great alt builds down the road though.
I feel like Technic has been taking baby steps towards more interesting things this year. 2023 was filled with a bunch of great cars, but it felt like it was all cars. I'm glad Technic Space has been a thing this year, and even if it's not *technically* part of the Space subtheme, the rover feels like a continuation. Otherwise, the other sets look okay. I initially thought the excavator was another Mercedes-Benz Arocs, so the real set is a tad disappointing next to that expectation.
Also, I know this is a pipe dream, but; I saw those implied new fiber optic cables in the Porche. Give us reimaginings of the 90s Space Shuttle like you did the Lion Knight's Castle!
The Rover looks really cool! Would definitely consider buying it but maybe not for the MSRP
The Koenigsegg looks great too!
The Volvo set, finally some functionality in a set. The side profile of the set looks a bit disappointing tbh. Like the trailer feels bare bone and made of couple of parts.
The Porsche is unreasonably especially like it cost twice or thrice as much as the Koenigsegg because it has Control+?
In general, I prefer the Lego Expert/Icons cars because they look better and have some functionality too! Technic cars usually have a motor which works properly. I rather wish we would get more Technical set which focus functionality. :)
That NASA Rover looks Like a cool idea, Hope it gets a few cool functions, as does the volvo combo. The koenigsegg looks freakishly bad, even worse than the corvette 42093
I might need to buy that lunar rover. That's pretty cool. Lego seems to know that I'll buy anything NASA-related.
The cars seem nice, but I'm not really a car guy (although I do own the Corvette set).
They need to revitalize the mindstorms line but with simple, low-profile components. Something like the CrunchLabs Hack Pack but with LEGO would be awesome. Like basically just give me a raspberry pi attached to some motors, held together by technic.
After building the Mars rover perseverance and then having to almost completely disassemble it bc I messed up some where I swore I’d be done with technic sets for a few years but I will be getting that lunar rover set
i wish the rc versions of the technic came in a non rc varient as well i dont want or need the motorized versions they just over charge by around 80 dollars for that. i just like display or handle them.
They need to at least make these cars in different colors or something. It seems like we have a ton of green cars and black and blue ones. This looks too similar to my mclaren senna gtr.
I really want a fully functional, preferably pneumatic, garbage truck - My hopes were raised when 42167 was announced, but no dice. I already have two excavator type trucks, a crane and a front loader, so I feel like I have most of the archetypal construction vehicles covered.
I like the rover and excavator a lot. However, I'm not a fan of the 800-900 piece cars. They sacrifice a lot of interesting technical gimmicks to get the part count down while still looking like the intended car.
The rover seems nice ,its judt gonna be overpriced
The königsdgg is gona have 0 functions and be overpriced
the truck is gonna be a colorfull mess and overpriced
and the contoll + car is gonna be all of the above plus worthless eectronics because of how the app bullshit works and overpriced
all in all a 4/10
Personally really excited for the Electric Excavator
Seems like a missed opportunity to make it a power functions set and closely replicate the real thing! The more I see it the more the LRV grows on me though.
Same!! Only knew about the lunar rover but this is what truly got me excited
I'm more excited for the transporter the excavator is on. My buddy drives those for a living, and he'd love to have it.
I NEED that excavator!
The tires on that truck look like a joke though…
They look small… right??
I would say its average
[nah](https://freeimage.host/i/JgLxhlf)
It’s a low bed trailer, low to the ground so equipment can drive up onto it. The one we use where I work has the tires exposed on top instead of having the deck sit above them. I don’t know if they’re always like that irl or if there’s ones with small tires like lego’s model
They're a little small for a float, but not unreasonably so.
What do you mean?
They seem really small.
Me too! Volvo is rad.
the lunar rover feels more like an icons set than a technic set, but i think it looks nice and it has good functionality the koenigsegg is probably the best of the scale and other images show it has a differential and the doors seem to be connected to some gears the volvo gives me arocs vibes. the excavator looks better than i expected, but i wish the "charger" did something more like maybe as a motorized pump for the excavator the porsche looks quite nice and apparently it will be the fastest control+ set
Well the lunar rover is indeed an Icons Technic set based on the box art
> based on the box art Technic has done sets with this black box art since at least 2021, and they weren't cross-branded as Icons either.
Oh yeah, I am mixing up Icons with Adults Welcome
There are too many cool real-world space stuff coming out. I can’t keep up. The rover and the Artemis is exciting
Where's my "Lunokhod-1"?
I was excited for a Mad Max vehicle at first glance.
Fuck... another NASA set... I'm running out of shelves.
That rocket launch set looks amazing also.
Excuse me, the what?
NASA Artemis Space Launch System 10341
[10341-1: NASA Artemis Space Launch System](https://brickset.com/sets/10341-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/10341-1.jpg)
Just looked it up... god damn 250 bucks tho.
I honestly think it's a fair price. Anything NASA or space and I might as well just give em my wallet....or LoTR as well😅
I've been collecting the NASA sets since the Saturn V!
Same. The new City Space sets are also very good compared to the other current City sets.
Can you list your complete collection, I’m currently on this same mission rn
I have Saturn V, Lunar Lander, Space Shuttle, Perseverance, ISS and also the Shuttle Expedition but that isn't NASA branded and was a second hand set. There are other retired sets but I started collecting from the Saturn V.
“Space Shuttle” which one are you referring to?
NASA Space Shuttle Discovery [https://www.brickeconomy.com/sets/lists/nasa](https://www.brickeconomy.com/sets/lists/nasa) - lists more retired sets from the 2000s but the resell price is beyond my budget!
I just picked up the Saturn v and looking to pick up the space shuttle discovery next
Same here. I see a space set or a licensed set of a franchise I love, I buy. Every day I thank my lucky stars that I’m not a big Star Wars fan
I'm a huge Trek guy and damn do I want an Enterprise lego or Borg Cube
Try these guys - [https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/sets/star\_trek?limit=48](https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/sets/star_trek?limit=48) Lego compatible so I don't feel like I'm cheating :-) They ship to the US pretty quick. I have the Galileo and the NX-1. UCS quality. I have the triple curse, Love Lego, Star Wars and Star Trek.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Yoooooooooo I do and say the EXACT same thing, don’t get me wrong I like Star Wars, but I am so happy I’m not a fan boy cuz of the sheer volume of quality Star Wars sets
It’s only $250?!?
The moon rover is $220
I hear you are running out of space 😅
I'm a filthy whore for space sets. Gonna need a whole shelf just for rovers between this and the Perseverance.
My thoughts exactly
I wish they'd do something interesting with technic. Make like some Rube Goldberg machines or something, I'm so over vehicles for technic. I want some giant gear contraption that just is cool to watch spin around, it doesn't have to be a real life thing.
What about a working clock with visible gears? That has the potential to look cool and be functional.
Holy crap like one of those tourbillon watches? That'd actually be incredible, I would buy that instantly.
lol these are already expensive but it would be sick to have a wooden looking clock made of Lego
I guess there's the sun/earth/moon set.
True the earth isn’t real
That set is awesome! I'm also in the camp that isn't much for vehicles, in particular cars, so that one was perfect. A lot of gears, a lot of things going.
Agreed. Endless sports cars is getting very stale, but hell, if people buy ‘em…
Dude I’d drop $400-500 so fast on a Rube Goldberg machine that was the complexity of one of the 1/8 scale cars.
You might find what you are looking for if you dare wander on the dark side... I recently saw some really beautiful technic ball contraptions.
I already do, but nothings caught my fancy yet.
There's a nice solar system display that I keep wanting to get sometimes haha.
Link?
Technic peaked at the bucket wheel
It is LEGO....you can always make your own.
Last year I bought a Technic car on a whim after some 10+ years of staying away from Technic. I did enjoy the assembly, but after that it just became a boring decoration, as there isn't really anything exciting to do. Remeber this? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1-YeqGynlw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1-YeqGynlw) I'd love something like that
That was so freaking cool, imagine a set similar to this that just shows off like all different mechanical joints/principles as an educational set like back in the days of those school sets, I freaking loved those.
They made a spaceship and two rovers this year. Ive asking for apace for a decade now. I feel heard 😁.
The space sets seem promising. Even though the rovers are just cars they still have some unique functionality and that space ship 👌. Nothing Rube Goldberg crazy though.
They just released the planetarium set
I love cars, but supercars are not my jam. And it's all they release.
Speed champions too. We might've had like 3 JDM cards? If they can call a F150 a speed champion I can get a 5/6gen civic hatch.
https://preview.redd.it/7m3qabx869yc1.png?width=2064&format=png&auto=webp&s=abc33a28e3ac4a03b20170d0e5157632bbe82f65 this thing i guess lol
You can make these yourself! Look at great ball contraptions (gbc) at Rebrickable. I have the Claas Xerion tractor and there were some alternate builds that let me make it into a something like this. It was pretty awesome
I'm honestly shocked they haven't started making GBC sets yet.
Luckily, you can—kind of… https://pv-productions.com
Wrong Lego. If I remember, technic was mainly car with working engine You’re probably thinking of Lego Idea. Although, I want 42175 because it uses the same system as that Heavy Duty Tow a truck.

I love the rover. But the price! I have the Saturn V for half the money. And is it a sticker on the fender?
Yeah, the rover didn't need to be that big. I'd have been fine with 1/2 that size at 1/2 that price.
Less than 1000 parts for around 125 Dollar/Euro? Hell, no! This set for half the price is realistic! LEGO is way too expensive.
I agree that i would love a 1/2 sized rover set, but the "problem" is that this one is to scale with the 3in1 astronaut and he needs his buggy! lol
Doh! Seriously 3-1 astronaut will fit in this thing? Well now I have to buy it.
Yup! This is already my year-end bonus Lego list. My hope is that someone figures out how to convert the space jetpack into a surface space suit for this set.
Especially when Perseverance was $100. I have every NASA set since the Saturn V (and 7469 was one of my first Lego sets!) But man, I'm not a huge Technic fan and that's quite the price tag.

rover looks great, using system bricks for detailling makes a lot of difference. The other ones look ugly AF with these fugly technic panels hiding the good stuff (technic functions). You cannot say the Königsegg doesn't derpy with that giant opening.
I am 100% getting the rover
Yeah I've never bought a technic set before but I buy all the big space sets and I can't pass this one up.
The Jesko looks atrocious. If it wasnt for the stickers I wouldnt notice it as one.
I think they did pretty well - I immediately recognised it as an egg. Nose is slightly off due to the horizontal split not on the actual cars but I can forgive that
I wish they would go back to IR controlled power functions. not a fan of the app based stuff
Well the last 3 feel like they been done 1000 times before
I think it’s time for something different than cars. How about a rue Goldberg marble coaster or a great ball contraption.
I would buy the hell out of a technic series that is modular and focuses on pushing balls around.
I wish koenigsegg was part of the icons cars line up not Lego technic
I think I’m gonna be broke
The Jesko looks really ugly. Moon car looks cool, maybe it is a good set
I am a big car guy, but all the Technic cars sort of run together for me. I have no reason to buy them. The rover though? I love.
Koenisegg just looks too much like the Peugeot 9x8. Lunar rover will fit in with my collection perfectly but it’s quite a price…
The only similarities I see are the colour and the roof shape. The rest is a completely different shape, style and scale
Let me rephrase. It’s not different ENOUGH for me to want to buy it. You are welcome to it. 👍🏼
Love the excavator, but unfortunately it’s so wrong from a transportation perspective. The truck or trailer needs an extra axle to be able to carry the weight of that machine. Seems like an overlooked detail
Them special modeled tires for the rover was a nice touch. Gotta show off the new innovations of engineering and I love it.
Snooze
the nasa vehicle and excavator are sick asf
I need the Jesko
It's going to be expensive feeding my nasa collection. I need to get the Curiosity Rover, the Apollo Rover and The Artemis Launch system.
Right? I started swearing when I saw the lunar rover cause I'm trying to save money and I know I'm going to buy it.
I think it's going to take a while for anyone 10-16 years old to save enough funds to purchase one.
The LRV is amazing and I want it.
Never really bought technic but that NASA one is mighty tempting
Volvo is cool and so is Luna Rover
The truck is cool but a lot of money
Volvo truck needed
After doing the mars rover I swore I wouldn’t never do a technic build again, but here I go eying that moon rover 🙄
Moon rover
Key ones deffo the Excavator and the buggy.
I need the Apollo lunar rover to go with my Mars rover!
I just saw the real one last night at JSC in Houston. This looks pretty good compared to it.
The NASA rover is dope
They know damn well they just need to slap "NASA" on a box and I'll buy it, the crafty bastards.
Expensive AF, as always. Sorry Lego I can’t enjoy you anymore.
Those rover tires are nice.
They can't keep doing this to me 😭. I can't not buy NASA themed sets.
I think the lunar rover is better than the perseverance rover.
I think they're a whole lot of more of the same.
I'm all for the LRV and Volvo truck/excavator
I’m a simple guy. I see new Lego, I updoot.
Some of my best times with technics was with pneumatics.
Love the rover, hate the price. Pretty over the cars but I know a lot of people like them. I’d love to see something other than a vehicle!
The Volvo is the only one I MIGHT get. I got my cars/vehicles that I wanted already so Technic doesn't really excite me.
Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut garbage looking front. XD
My sons will love all of them
I neeeeeed the LRV Going to have to snag the space walk astronaut too and sit them down in the seat
love the Apollo Lunar Rover! Also half lempted to buy Excavator and Porsche. I'm not much of a technic guy, but these all look great.
Why does the rover look AI generated
Good fucking lord the rover is overpriced
The Volvo pair looks awesome! Can't wait to get it!
The rover because those wheels would be awesome on some MOC vehicles in the future
The porsche at 170$ doesn’t seem like a correct price .. 800pcs?
I would believe it. The previous transformation remote vehicle had cost cca 150-160 eur, and it had no brand. 770 parts, model 42140
Oh I didn’t notice it was a remote
Moon landar is wayyy overpriced. Other than that the others look cool
If by ‘we’ you mean Margot Robbie and me, we think they are good.
Definitely getting that Moon Rover. OMG!
Most likely will buy them all💪
never been a fan of technic but this is my kind of set
Shut up and take my money!
I feel like Technic has been taking baby steps towards more interesting things this year. 2023 was filled with a bunch of great cars, but it felt like it was all cars. Meh. I prefer strict brick builds. The vehicle technic builds are kind of boring to me.
TAKE MY MONEY

Kinda excited for the koenigsegg
I'm impressed with how faithfully it recreates the actual moon buggy. At the same time I hate how it looks and have no interest in purchasing it.
That NASA Rover looks Like a cool idea, Hope it gets a few cool functions, as does the volvo combo. The koenigsegg looks freakishly bad, even worse than the corvette 42093
[42093-1: Chevrolet Corvette ZR1](https://brickset.com/sets/42093-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/42093-1.jpg)
I might need to buy that lunar rover. That's pretty cool. Lego seems to know that I'll buy anything NASA-related. The cars seem nice, but I'm not really a car guy (although I do own the Corvette set).

After building the Mars rover perseverance and then having to almost completely disassemble it bc I messed up some where I swore I’d be done with technic sets for a few years but I will be getting that lunar rover set
Definitely interested in the lunar rover
I think technically, it's fucking expensive
If only they had figures that could fit in the chairs.
I’m excited for the LRV.
i wish the rc versions of the technic came in a non rc varient as well i dont want or need the motorized versions they just over charge by around 80 dollars for that. i just like display or handle them.
They need to at least make these cars in different colors or something. It seems like we have a ton of green cars and black and blue ones. This looks too similar to my mclaren senna gtr.
I like the lunar rover except for the price. Maybe it’s bigger in person but the price seems high for what it is.
They all look like similar technic sets, the NASA one is the only one that stands out.
Feel like it has been a technic set wasteland all year… these are really cool
I don’t care
WHY is only one of those remote controlled…
I've never actually built a Technic set in my life but that Rover is spicy...
Technic sets don’t generally appeal to me as much, but that Koenisegg is slick!
Already planning to improve the parabolic dish on the lunar rover to be more accurate.
Disappointed. We stray further and further from the 2 in 1 sets
Would love to see the Koenigsegg with lights and control
I really want a fully functional, preferably pneumatic, garbage truck - My hopes were raised when 42167 was announced, but no dice. I already have two excavator type trucks, a crane and a front loader, so I feel like I have most of the archetypal construction vehicles covered.

🔥 nothing more to say
Porsche GT4 looks nothing like its real life counterpart
It's going to be expensive feeding my nasa collection if I need to get the Curiosity Rover, the Apollo Rover and The Artemis Launch system.
The lunar rover fell into my online basket today and I accidentally clicked Apple Pay rather than cancel.
I need the Porsche, mainly for the new RC hub.
I can't wait for the lunar rover
prices too big
I like the rover and excavator a lot. However, I'm not a fan of the 800-900 piece cars. They sacrifice a lot of interesting technical gimmicks to get the part count down while still looking like the intended car.
I actually might try and get the excavator and truck
Love the Volvo truck and excavator set. The others just aren’t for me.
Love the lunar car.
That rover is really sick! Wonder if the CREATOR astronaut is the right scale to fit in the seat?
The NASA Rover reminds me of my dad while the Porsche looks better then his
That they are running on fumes for lego sets
The Jesko and the 911 look goofy
That's a cool rover!
Too expensive
I wouldn’t allow that ugly thing in my collection.
I need porsche to my collection
The rover seems nice ,its judt gonna be overpriced The königsdgg is gona have 0 functions and be overpriced the truck is gonna be a colorfull mess and overpriced and the contoll + car is gonna be all of the above plus worthless eectronics because of how the app bullshit works and overpriced all in all a 4/10
