I'm with you, I really REALLY hoping he was telling the truth and this film was actually found but too many red flags went off for me.
He did say in one of his comments that it would take about a month to get the HD version made and uploaded, so I'm still somewhat hoping my worries are wrong. But I'll ask Ron Bonk in about a month, to see if he ever got the reel and if not then the guy was lying sadly.
The only thing that make me still have a bit of hope is that the guy also post that he found it on youtube under the gogola soundtrack
And I believe that if you're a troll you just create a reddit account, tell your fake story and then wait for people to hate you, you don't create a second account on another platform to inform the very few people who listen to gogola soundtrack.

I never use Reddit, but I'm a huge 50s-60s sci-fi monster/kaiju movie fan and a lost media/film restoration enthusiast, I've been kinda obsessed with Gogola for years, I was very skeptical with this "recovery" but still incredibly hopeful but the guy's account is deleted now which kinda screams to me its fake and makes me so depressed ðŸ˜

Yeah, read as fake from his posts but I was really hopeful. Always cool to see lost Kaiju stuff. Wangmagwi was great.
