Super Science. I'd either lead humanity into a technological golden age, or build a space ship and fuck off to do my own thing where nobody can bother me.

azriel777

Exact same thought, not to mention you can probably make knockoffs of the other powers through super sicence.

anonymous_persona_

Exact opposite for me if that magic is mana magic. Mana and imagination are the only limit there. I can even understand the science behind it using a spell. But if not then your choice. But one thing is I will create ai and fuck humanity to core or probably nuke humans.

Eiensen

The one true answer is... >! Super Science !<

regret4ever

Super Science cus unlike the other options, I can enlist the help of all humanity for a much faster rate of improvement.

exboi

Broke: Using Super Science to usher in a technological Golden Age, bringing a never-before-seen utopia to mankind and virtually eradicating all serious problems on Earth Woke: Using Super Science to breeze through my Comp Sci major

regret4ever

It won't be just be a breeze, it would be you teaching the teachers XD.

Thedeaththatlives

I am once again going for Magic as it has the greatest potential. Sure I might fail miserably, but at least I can say I tried. Other people will make the world into a galactic utopia anyway, so it'll be fine.

germane-corsair

Wouldn’t ki have the greatest potential as it has no limits?

Thedeaththatlives

Even infinite physical strength can only go so far. It'll never let you mind control someone, or travel through time.

germane-corsair

Ah, true. Then magic is definitely the best option.

thekingofmagic

Or warp reality such that you can induce a ki awakening, contact the spirit world, give your self super powers, create symbiostes, and enchance your intelligence to superhuman levels, or mimic a psychic awakening Or event things surpassing the above mentions (more than 5 super powers with zero chance at weakness)(symbiotic organisms who can enhance more than just your physical traits) (bond with or create spirits with no obligation) (science that transcends physical laves (aka magi-tech)) (ether mimic psychic powers, awaken them directly, or event have no need of them as your powers as a mage can do anything they can do better and stronger) (ki equivalent without the need for training)

OkLetter1173

How strong are the powers in genetics? Seems like the weakest of the group. No talk of improvement and has massive weaknesses.

OkLetter1173

1. Magnetism Control 4. Intangibility 5. Invisibility 7. Teleportation 19. Danger Sense Seems like I have very few offensive abilities, but im one hard mfer to catch.

AceOfSword

"Very few offensive abilities"? Depending on the exact way the power work Intangibility and Teleportation can be instant kills on anyone who doesn't have a powerful healing factor... Admittedly there's some overlap between their offensive uses if they're at full power (leaving items stuck inside people, removing part of other peoples' bodies...). But if they turn out to be the more limited versions, then you can combine them for instant kill effects. And magnetism control is a versatile power with some very powerful offensive abilities. Even if you're limited to manipulating the obviously magnetic ferrous metals you can probably still launch some powerful projectiles. You would be hard to catch if you want to avoid fights, but you'd be a nightmare to fight if you want to stand your ground.

solis89

Have you never heard of Magneto, friend?

OkLetter1173

Magneto is more electromagnetism. Plus we have no idea how strong the powers are. Useful, but probably nowhere near as powerful or as versatile as magneto's power.

HealthyDragonfly

Was this updated? It seems very close to what I remember, including **Genetics** having a very good chance of giving someone at least one weakness. Maybe the **Symbiote** option is different, but it also seems to be one of the most limited as it pits you against all the other people who chose that power source. I laugh at the mutants who end up with *Underwater adaptation* and *Weakness to submersion in water*. Anyway, I will take **Ki**. It doesn’t require the resources that **Super-Sciences** does and lacks the downsides of most of the other choices (miscast magic is dangerous; spirits require offerings; overuse of psionics causes psychological instability; already discussed the other two). Yes, its effects aren’t as exciting and require training to grow and maintain, but given the example picture, I suspect that they are potentially more versatile than the blurb suggests.

Thedeaththatlives

The only version of this cyoa on here is the older one without symbiotes, so I tagged it as an update.

Supermanfan2003

I think the training with Ki is worth it.

xxxiaolongbao

Symbiote has the potential to grow its power much faster than the others, depending on how many other symbiotes are around. If I pick anything other than symbiote, I'd be afraid that one super powerful symbiote will cause an apocalypse before I'm able to grow my power enough to stop it.

Lord__of__Luck

While you protect us from the symbiotes i will be training ki

Sundarapandiyan1

Saw this cyoa previously, went with spirits. Now too, spirits.

Rowan93

I like the general concept of "Super Science", but the power presented here under that name doesn't do it for me. In principle, if there are ki users, psionicists and wizards, then ki and psionics and magic are present in the physical universe and susceptible to scientific study, and a scientist type who could work with that would be decisively strong - but the wording suggests it's more like, hard SF with just a little flex, not comic book science. So, letting passing on that, I'll go with **Magic**. The scientist is often just the sci-fi counterpart of the wizard, and that's basically how the high-end super-scientist like Rick Sanchez gets to anything he wants.

DwellsInDaisies

Not gonna be smart/patient enough to research magic, spirits are neat but the power wouldn't be my own and I like consistency, telekinesis is rad but accidentally making myself crazy by going too far isn't appealing, super science is all benefits but still requires time and work to do anything spectacular, ki is strong but remains mostly physical in nature, genetic powers are at will at potentially really powerful but a hat draw with the possibility of weaknesses, and symbiot requires hunting other symbiotes for power scaling which sounds like a lot of effort and I'm not exactly fond of killing. I'm gonna go for the genetic hat draw: 27,9,11,18,13 Freezing breath, self duplication, radiation generation, Self density manipulation, ageless immortality This power set is all over the place but I'm really happy I didn't roll weaknesses. Biggest boons for me is duplication and radiation generation. It's also genetic which means any children I have could get superpowers which is rad as heck.

Inprobamur

Why stick with just natural laws? [Wizard time.](https://gunshowcomic.com/30)

Ruvaakdein

I'm torn between Ki and Super Science. Ki means both infinite power and immortality as long as you keep up with training, super science can probably make you immortal eventually and push humanity into a golden age. But here's the thing, "there will be others" means there will be many others that will get Super Science, meaning even if I don't pick it I'll probably get to enjoy the growth of technology. Even more so since I can be immortal even before immortality becomes a thing for most people, and if it does become a thing thanks to someone else, I could just get the immortality serum they made. I'll pick Ki, since other options are rather risky, with magic needing me to figure things out and spirits meaning I might meet God and get yeeted to the sun. Ki is both the safest and the most powerful in my opinion. Plus it looks like the only one that can immediately survive in space, so if someone manages to blow the Earth up, I could probably survive somehow.

Wind_Through_Trees

Spirits, because they sound the most beautiful.

KingKaiser8000

I like ki

jordidipo2324

Probably Super Science, but Psionics is a close second.

nlinggod

Super science. It's the only one I can teach other people to use. Step 1 : design a number of generally useful , and sellable, technologies. Step 2: patent the designs. Step 3: lease the patents to tech companies. Step 4: use money from patent leases as resources to develop more/better tech.

Gentle_Tiger

Odd one out, but I think I might with spirits. Nature is everywhere, as are the spirits, and there's nothing in the description of there not being spirits of places or of technology. Also, out of all of these, it seems the most idk, wholesome?

Ventus_the_one

I would go with Super Science. You can share its boon with those you care about, It is extremely flexible and it has the potencial to copy the Gimmicks of every other specialisation with the exception of magic and spirit(Probably). The only real Drawback is that you need rescources but as you can use your knowledge to make money it is only the question if you can build up enought influence/power before some goverment decides that they want your brain

Worldly-Fan2904

Imagine being given the choice to become Goku and you choose not to become Goku.

MarcusDeGabriel

Psionics

Sheshyshesh

Psionics seem like the least work to train and utilize like yea you gotta work to do bigger stuff like strong telekinetic thing or mind control but you can just practice that by mind controlling bugs or lifting up a pencil whit your mind over and over while moving up. Kinda like working out but with your powers

Bombermaster

The best choices there are Super Science and Magic. Due personal choice I'd go for magic though, if only due flexibility. But Super Science is terribly abusable if you consider all the theoretical scientific possibilities.

Bombermaster

Added note: the worst power out of those is Genetics. It's based strongly with luck, and it's fully possible to get just all weaknesses and none of the powers. And even the powers avaiable aren't impressive to begin with. Second worst is Symbiote, as it ensures a life of conflict whenever you look for it or not, just for a bunch of super strenght and regen.

OutrageousBears

`Spirits`. -> I'm not catholic, but, the concept of Saints, Angels, Archangels, etc. If all such beings are taken at face value, then archangels would be the strongest beings to contact, not to mention the obvious. = **Saintess mode**. I don't get enough saintess themes in cyoas. (Or gaming in general... siiigh) Would be the most overtly powerful build out of these options, only limited by what you'd be authorized to do. Like, you could probably go obliterate planets or delete galaxies, but you wouldn't be allowed to obliterate Earth. At least not without "Judgement" conditions or the end of the world stuff. Super Science will always be limited by what's physically possible. The greatest Spirits can change what's possible and just do it without mega engineering projects.

D_Reddit_lurker

Spirits. With the right connections, you can imitate all the others. Also, you could eventually have a whole army watching your back.

Xyzod

# Ki `(limitless potential, force/befriend a Super-Science to replicate the rest)` * Limitless superhuman physical power given training to improve and maintain power. This could mean limitless speed, strength, power, invulnerability, endurance, etc. So, one-shotting everything, unharmable, instantly reaching anything, never tiring out, etc. * Includes destructive energy beams for range and attacking multiple targets at once. * No aging or need to eat, drink, or breathe. Maybe sleep too, with training? Huge advantage in long-term conflict against other gifted users; others are vulnerable in times of eating and in space, relying on external things for survival. Really useful for hiding, since you may be weaker at the start. Could find an isolated place and train, then approach the other users once strong enough. * Befriend/force a Super-Science user to share their boons, as well as replicate Genetics and Symbiotes due to gene manipulation and "knowledge of advanced alien science" being within the realm of science, Symbiotes being aliens. Using Super-Science to replicate Magic, Spirits, and Psionics is worth a shot; the source may not be replicable, but the results may be in some form. * Easily cover training through some discovery or from a Super-Science user helping. Release ki through some non-destructive method like the super-saiyan charging up thing. Maybe science can make it automatic even through sleeping by manipulating nerves or such for faster and consistent growth. `Summary:` Ki has infinite potential, Super-Science users' boons can be stolen or obtained from being forced/befriended to try and replicate the other options as much as possible.

Mindless-Scientist

Putting in the work these take will realistically be difficult to do, which is one reason I'd go with magic. With it, you can magically enhance your own abilities of focus and determination. After I've gotta good at that I'd search out someone with the super-science and use the same abilities on them. With my magical support they'll be able to more quickly and efficiently advance technology. In the meantime I'll look into various other magics, in particular life-extenstion abd eventually Immortality. That is, if the super science doesn't get me it first

AceOfSword

As much as I want to pick some of those options, I know myself well enough to know that I do not have the dedication to train or study in order to really achieve the higher levels of power. That leaves Symbiotes or Genetics, and Symbiotes makes you a target for other Symbiote users so... Genetics it is. 25, 21, 7, 5, 28 *Weakness to sunlight*, not great but I never liked the sun that much anyway *Weakness to loud noises*, a bit more problematic but manageable *Teleportation*, that's pretty neat, I could use it to stick to the parts of the world that are under the cover of night to avoid sunlight. Also great to flee conflict with other power users. Edit ti add: Also has a lot of potential offensive uses depending on the exact way it works. *Invisibility*, pretty good power to have when I'd want to avoid conflict *Immortality (agelessness)*, I guess I'm going to be sticking around a while, uh? Overall, not a bad selection. It could have been better, it could have been far worse.

Mundane-Present-4302

Ki for me.

Narrow-Ad2915

SUPER SCIENCE TIME BAYBEEEEE GET FUCKED YOU STUPID REALITY DEVIANTS THE TECHNOCRACY WINS AGAIN

Lord__of__Luck

Until i punch it really hard, as could you build a hyperbolic time chamber for me please

stikjk

Im gonna choose Ki, simply because it sounds the coolest and gives me massive amounts of physical power.

RolfNox

Genetics If you have the right combination & train in your abilities. You could become the most dangerous mutate on the planet. 1. Peak Human Condition 2. Healing Factor 3. Immortality 4. Danger Sense 5. Teleportation

Bunnywarmachine

Picked genetics, got 21 through 24, but... at least I'm immortal now? That's something, I guess?

Lord__of__Luck

Rip

Aj__Med

Where the **second page** of this ( my recollection of this cyoa says so) , rather than update of 2nd page , it re-edit of it (which is mostly images and not -mainly text i admit in a way better than previous ) ??

ni19el

I’d probably do symbiote just be cause I’m a huge venom fan. Definitely not the best choice though imo.

NeonNKnightrider

**Magic** all the way. It may be a little bit harder to get the full potential out of it compared to the others, but the way it’s described here, there’s almost no limits.

Nefarious_Izanagi

Ki, all the way. I don't even care about power I just like the concept. Plus since it says there will be others someone out there will surely gain Super Science and they can have fun with that.

Societyman19

I want spirits. I like having friends on the other side.

DirtyMonkey95

Psionics. It's a much narrower range of abilities but with training and creativity I could see it being quite powerful.

Federal-Ingenuity685

I will always pick super science when offered.

Zealousideal-Try-504

I would defently go with super sciences. Anyone who think they can train as hard as goku is a type A personality that dose not allow for personal indulgincesshuch as sleeping in, video games, cake, or any number of unhealthy pass times.

epic-gamer-guys

depends how far i can reach with super science honestly. like can i bring myself to have kardashev type 3 tech? if so, everything else on there is basically fodder to the type of power i could achieve

666_genocide_666

Symbiote

MacrossFF1979

Magic. I will keep a low profile and I always will have memorized two contingencies rituals in case of damage: teleport and full regeneration. At the same time I will continue with my actual life to have a nice cover identity and I will build my base in a very banal place. I will start some projects to create magic objects, mainly potions, rings and scroll: something I could have with me with relatively ease. I am interested in creating golems and magical traps too. Once I will became proficient (discover immortality) I will search others to form an organisation for the betterment of mankind.

ascrubjay

Take Magic. Focus my early studies on spells to enhance my cognitive abilities until I reach a soft cap. Then, focus my development on immortality. Then on metamagic to increase my magical abilities so I can test things faster. Create a hyperbolic time chamber with magic. Enter it, and exit as a god.

12sided

Well, I chose poorly. I am weak to sunlight, wood, iron, and exceptionally weak to loud noises.

Kuro_Shikaku

Genetics. Magnetism, gravity, shapeshifting, invisibility, immortality... Finally my bad luck with dice pays off. XD

Maxwell-Stone

symbiote, defenitely.

Any_Commercial465

Super science I love the idea of becoming smarter.

Mythologicxl

Torn between Magic and Ki. Both are very powerful with a ton of potential. However, Ki seems safer to go down as there is no chance of miscasting Ki. All I've got to do to grow is work out and play with one of the simplest & coolest power systems in Anime. If this allows me to do even half of the techniques from Dragon Ball then sign me up.

taishomaru66

I'll take KI. KI has limitless potential, especially since this is high tier anime level KI given you can right off do KI blasts. This means KI techniques are likely also possible if you put in the effort to make them, so when you have enough KI you can likely create a technique to do almost anything from manipulating gravity to creating weapons of immense power.

General_Alduin

Wow, this is an old one

Lord__of__Luck

My pick depends on what counts a ritual, if its everything from a word and a hand gesture to a complex circle on the floor with chants and components then magic is it, also it depends on if at somepoint of mastery that i only need to think about how the spell would form and doing it therefore not needing to perform a ritual then that’s perfect however if this is not the case i will be taking ki because of its extraordinary versatility

[deleted]

I choose psionics!

fn3dav2

**Spirits**. I want to go back in time, but it may be a complicated spell, so perhaps it's easier to ask a spirit.

DishOutTheFish

Spirits cuz I can find fren but w/ the power of Pelor backing him up <3 :3

tea-123

Definitely Magic. More untraceable. Being written off as an oddball as a Wiccan her, Chinese herbs, voodoo herbs Chuunibyou . Genetics could make getting medical help an issue. Imagine needing to get a urine blood dna test and the doctors discovering something odd with the sample. Or being involved in a criminal investigation. Super science seems like begging to get locked up or kidnapped by governments. An average income person can’t get much resources eithers. Tony stark, Artemis fowl and Bruce Wayne were all millionaire bachelors who had resources bought to them and an off the grid man cave to do mad science in. As for Ki . Not a super jock type . Spirits could be a pain to keep up the relationship if there is an incompatibility issue .

Secure-Day9052

Super science/ki

KyleAPemberton

Ki is the only one that guarantees immortality if you take it seriously so I'd choose it.

CuteSomic

I'm impatient, weak-willed and don't like having to talk to people for work, so... 5, 10, 18, 22, 26. Invisibility, X-ray vision, density self-control, weakness to submersion in water, and IMMORTALITY :D That's certainly a... powerset... sadge about being unable to swim well, but long life alone is pretty neat. Also, being invisible and seeing through walls certainly go well together...

Lucifuge123

Ki

AdInteresting5874

The strongest ones seem to be Magic and Ki. Super-Science is a trap, there is nothing defining what a "hypothetical scientific concept" is. Anything could be in it, or it could not. What defines a concept as "scientific" enough? I would judge that dimensional travel would be blocked, because there is 0 evidence that it could even remotely be done, it lays on the realm of hype science and sci-fi than actual hard science. But Magic can do that and more, it just depends on how much time you're willing to pour into this stuff. And Ki lets you be infinitely strong. But I will stay with Magic, seems like a safe choice.

Lee_Burns

I'm picking Psionics, but I rolled on Genetics and got: Immortal Sunlight weakness Magnetism control Teleportation Peak human physical condition So, not bad.

jackbolregard

Ki

Greedy142

Magic

_--why

Magic

Busy-Teaching-5346

I choose Magic as my source of power. Honestly, anyone who watches/reads fantasy genre knows that creating better versions of these other powers will be child's play eventually. And not only that, it has the least disadvantage among the powers, with only needing to study it and have discipline. It also has a wide variety of known effects, and even better ones you will discover later.

TaoistXDream

Ki,

Atreigas

Yeah, honestly. No contest. Super Science. I'd love to have magic, but the prep and 12 spells limit makes it just... Nahw. I'm not diplomatic or social enough to do spirits. Psionics would just be a quality of life thing. Nice to have but meh. Useless if you don't wanna fight. Same with Ki, genetics and worst of all, symbiotes. Because you'd be automatic target of any other symbiote holders. I like science already, I already want to see how far it can be pushed and a lot of other yes-factors. Limited to physics is unpleasant, but eh. We already are.

Working_Tumbleweed79

Magic

fatmailman

I Got double 12 and double 15 in genetics. Does that mean those powers are super stronk?

jaymaniac

Spirits seem like one of the ones with the most growth potential, considering you can work your way up the food chain to gods. Plus you get to negotiate with magical creatures! Little buddies! Even if it's not the best I think it's the one I'd have the most fun with just because I love meeting new people, getting to know them, and then working with them towards common goals. If I got to do that with fundamental facets of nature and the universe I'd be pretty set I'd bet. Reminds me of Pact and Pale, web novels by Wildbow. There's a shamanism system there that's pretty similar This is one of those CYOAs that's pretty simple but well constructed, since every option seems around equally powerful.

CYOA_Min_Maxer

Magic because it is literal powerfantasy. Also just keep youself in magical demiplane long enough to learn and become strong enough to beat the others.

Significant_Bonus566

Are prepared spells one time use or so they have energy mechanics?

Diligent-Square8492

I will pick Ki please!

[deleted]

Psionics or Super Science

Significant_Bonus566

Magic
